By the end of the day, Jeffrey counted that between him, Samantha and Preston. They had sold around 24 jars of Slime and Oobleck. 15 jars of Perfume slime and 9 jars of glow in the dark slime.
The reason why they didn't sell more was probably because more kids couldn't find them. They were three people in a public school. There were about 1000 students, so that means even if 3-4% were interested that was still 30-40 kids. There where probably about 12 kids that wanted it that couldn't find them in the sea of 1000 students, if not more.
Jeffrey also noticed they had a problem with holding the money. They had about 500 dollars in cash today and another 300 from the last 2 weeks. Although they spent 100 of it on his cellphone rental (this was before he added Preston and Samantha as members), they still owed him another ~100-150 in arrears for the materials, jars and R&D.
That was still about 500 dollars in cash between the three of them. They were either going to need to spend it all, or get a bank account.
Jeffrey wanted to save the money, but that meant they were going to have to explain where it came from and figure out how to pay taxes.
Jeffrey shivered. The freaking IRS, from a tiny lemonade stand to a fortune 500 company they collected money from everyone. Thankfully Jeffrey knew it was impossible to send kids like him to jail, but they would probably take away his money if he tried to evade taxes.
Jeffrey waited to take the school bus home. He'd figure this out one step at a time. However for now, he was going to need to arrange the next science project meeting. Thankfully, it was a Friday so they'd have some time to prepare before they started selling Oobleck again on Monday.
When Jeffrey arrived at his house, he ran inside and grabbed the home phone and started calling his friends.
"Hey Preston, are you busy this weekend?", Jeffrey asked his friend.
"Not this weekend, but next weekend I have a math competition", Preston responded.
"Wow, that's cool. Do you have time to meet up Saturday about this science project of ours. We didn't really get to talk this week", Jeffrey offered.
"Yeah, sure. I need to talk to my mom first. However I'll probably have her call your mom and we can met up at your house", Preston explained.
"Yeah, if you could do that we can prepare for what we're going to do next week", Jeffrey mentioned.
"Oh yeah, that. Jeffrey how long is this project going to take?", Preston asked.
"Umm, how long do you want to work on this", Jeffrey responded.
"No I was just wondering, because that was exhausting", Preston explained.
"Let's talk on Saturday, but changing the world isn't easy Preston. It shouldn't last too long, especially if we got some other people to help us", Jeffrey answered.
"Ok, I guess we can talk more about it when we meet up", Preston hung up the phone.
Jeffrey had one more phone call to make.
*BRRR*
Jeffrey heard Samantha on the other line pick up.
"Hello, who's this?", Samantha asked.
"Hey Samantha, it's me Jeffrey", Jeffrey responded.
"Oh hey Jeffrey, when are we going to meet up about the science project?", Samantha was quite direct with her question.
"I was thinking Saturday, if that's ok with you. Preston's planning on coming to my house since he's available", Jeffrey mentioned.
"Yeah, Saturday should be fine. I have a writing tutor session later that night, so I can't stay too late. Is 10am ok?", Samantha offered.
"Yeah that should be a good time, let me tell my parents you're coming so we can set the whole thing up. Did you tell yours already?", Jeffrey discussed with Samantha.
"Yeah, I told them about it. They should have your parents number from the school directory, so I'll see both you and Preston tomorrow then", Samantha said a little quietly.
"Sounds great, I can't wait to work on our project again", Jeffrey replied.
Jeffrey was practically bouncing off the walls in excitement. However as soon as the adrenaline wore off, Jeffrey noticed the house was a mess and started to clean in preparation for his friends coming over.
