CHAPTER 8

Rosalba couldn't be there any longer. She felt that someone was moving towards her quickly. Rosalba chose a direction and ran. She thought that the person couldn't follow her among all this fog. But she was wrong. The person was following as the person could feel her position. Rosalba started to sweat cold and ran more quickly. She didn't have any idea why this night she found people so strong.

Although Rosalba was not slow, the person was more and more near her. Rosalba started to worry and at that moment remembered that she hadn't her camouflage and her eyes and hair were very flashy. Rosalba tried to change her appearance but surprisingly she couldn't. The magic couldn't finish when it returned to normal. Rosalba turned pale; she didn't think that the magic of that man had a long time of length. She almost wanted to cry. Fortunately, when the person was almost behind her, Rosalba decided to be invisible.

Rosalba stayed quiet and calm in the same place and after a few seconds, she saw the person that followed her. He was her boss. The lord of the mansion. Nicholas. He looked at his surroundings but couldn't find anything so he left. When Rosalba couldn't see his figure she sighed with relief. It was a dangerous situation.

Rosalba couldn't return to the inn before the lord. She thought that he stayed in that place to investigate more. Rosalba remembered his fight with that man and her face couldn't avoid wrinkling. She didn't remember who he was. In the past, the emperor had many mistresses, of course, some of those women had a child. Rosalba was soon isolated from the palace. But she remembered some things from that time. Although her mother was the official empress she was very cautious with a woman. Concubine Margaret. She was the only woman among all emperor's lovers that received a formal rank.

Rosalba remembers that Concubine Margaret had a son. He was almost the same age as Rosalba. That child was particularly intelligent and thanks to his mother's family power. He had more possibilities of inheriting the throne. He was born with light hair so the emperor loved him a lot. Rosalba didn't pay attention to him and she had never met him so even if he was standing in front of her she couldn't recognize him. But Rosalba was almost sure that he was the man she saw today. Truth be told, Rosalba didn't care who took the throne. But now, she had to recognize that the emperor had done a good job managing the country. If a war started, all that peace would disappear. Also after she saw that man today couldn't say that he would be a good emperor. In addition, he wanted to use her and Rosalba didn't believe that he would surrender. Thinking that, Rosalba couldn't sleep and stayed awake the whole night.

After two days Nicholas gave the order to return to the Mansion. Rosalba asked for special permission for that day. She wanted to meet with Maira.

—Maira, I'm sorry, I have something to do, so I couldn't stay here —Maira smiled softened, and said.

—Don't worry Rosa. Although I wanted you to stay here with me, I knew that you deserve something very much. You are special Rosa. I know —Rosalba thought that Maira overvalues her but she didn't say anything.

Maira said goodbye to Rosalba and she returned to her job. There weren't any accidents on the road and Rosalba didn't see the figure of her brother. But Rosalba was worried all the time and not only because of her. Rosalba doesn't stupid she noticed that Nicholas had a special identity. If this were not the case, her brother would not have risked attacking him. It is the reason why she kept an eye on him. Fortunately, nothing happened.

Now, Rosalba needed to search for information but she didn't know where she could find it.

—Rosalba —The boss of the kitchen said to Rosalba —take the tea to the master

—Okay —In this mansion there aren't many people. So sometimes we needed to do task differences to our position.

Rosalba took the tea until the study and knocked on the door.

—Come in —Rosalba opened the door and saw Nicholas working without paying attention to who came in.

Rosalba had to recognize the words "A man looks more handsome when he is working". Although Rosalba knew that he was handsome, she had seen many beautiful people in the palace so she wasn't very interested in the appearance of her boss. But at this moment he looks very good. Rosalba didn't distract more and prepared the tea.

Rosalba didn't know that when she put her attention in the tea. Nicholas made a little smile. He wasn't a magician but the royal family had many magic devices. One of those let him change his appearance slightly. Nicholas always used it when he needed to leave the palace. Today he reduced its effect a little. It functioned because Rosalba kept her eyes on him a few times.

—Sir, your tea —Nicholas left the documents and took the tea that Rosalba gave.

Rosalba made a curtsey to Nicholas but when she lifted she saw the letters in the document. She couldn't leave. It had information about strange movements of Luzbel country. Rosalba remembered that Luzbel was the country of Margaret. His brother might have been behind those strange movements. At that moment an idea came to Rosalba's mind. She stayed here a long time so she quickly left the room when she recovered. She needed information, and now she knew where to find it.
