You Saved Me From Myself

Stein woke up from such a long dream after hearing loud arguments so early in the morning.

The arguments were below, the voices was a man and a woman speaking in English with a mix of French-like words. There was no other people that it could be besides the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Fleury. They were muffled, but the noises was enough to make him fully awake, and untether himself from the dream he just had.

'Franklin' beside him seems to be sleeping peacefully, and so he decided to slowly get out of bed and listen in from the door, or perhaps on the front steps of the staircase if he could not hear much even there.

He first heard Mrs. Fleury's voice which used to be calm but was now filled with wrath and had become high-pitched and grating.

"I know this is a loveless marriage, but Samuel, can you at least act like my husband from time to time! If not in front of me in closed doors, then in front of everybody else! I'm sick of always covering for you!"
