The First Wand

Abel carefully placed the processed Pegasus feathers into the wand body, watching as they stretched and connected with the ancient magical runes etched on the core wall. Once the feathers were fully integrated, he secured the final stopper, sealing the wand completely.

Taking a deep breath, Abel picked up the black-brown wand and gave it a light wave.

In an instant, he felt his magical energy extend into the wand like an extension of his own arm. There were no issues with the wand's structure or core!

"Wingardium Leviosa!"

With a slight tremor in his right wrist, the wand vibrated energetically, and various objects in the room began to float and rotate around him with each wave of his wand.

However, as he performed the spell, Abel's initial excitement shifted to regret. He waved the wand again, and the floating objects returned to their original positions one by one.

Looking at the wand in his hand, Abel felt a mix of exhilaration and disappointment. He was thrilled by the wand's successful creation; he finally had a means of self-preservation. But it was regrettable that this wand wasn't the best fit for him. The pine wood used for the wand body was decent, but the heart of the wand wasn't ideal. While the Pegasus feathers were perfectly suitable, they only just met the requirements without truly aligning with his magical essence.

In his previous life, Abel's wand had been thirteen and a half inches long, made from over a hundred-year-old oak tree and powered by a dragon's heart. Its characteristics included durability, victory, power, and authority, making it suitable for both white and black magic, especially in combat.

The wand he just crafted was the same length but was made of a century-old pine and a Pegasus feather. Its nature revolved around life, vitality, recovery, and holiness—a wand firmly rooted in white magic. While it could provide some blessings, it would also diminish his effectiveness with black magic.

Overall, the materials used for this wand were mediocre, at best. It could function but was fundamentally unsuitable for Abel.

Of course, it was still a significant improvement over wandless magic.

This was a good start. Now he could study magic while considering new materials to create better wands. Though many materials from his past life didn't exist in this world, there were unique resources here that he could only dream of obtaining before.

For instance, the golden apple trees of Asgard, Odin's crows, and eight-legged steeds, as well as various lords from different dimensions—these were all materials that had never existed in his previous life. If he could use them to create a wand, the old wand from his past life would pale in comparison.

However, Abel realized that he couldn't simply do whatever he wanted in this life. The complexities of this world were beyond what he had anticipated. He didn't want to remain passive in the face of future crises. Who could guarantee that his presence wouldn't alter the course of events? Having learned from his previous life, Abel understood a fundamental truth: movies are just that—movies—and he was living in a real world.

While he could use films to speculate on future developments, relying on them to make decisions would inevitably lead to significant setbacks.

It was this hard-won wisdom from his past life that guided Abel.

After calming his excitement and regret over the successful creation of the wand, Abel tidied up his tools and scraps, sat at his desk, and began drafting a detailed introduction to the magic system he had learned.

It wasn't until the next morning that he realized he hadn't even finished half of it. The magic system he had studied in his previous life was vast and developed over a long period.

He had to acknowledge that the potions and herbal medicine he learned before couldn't be applied directly in this world. Although many potion ingredients existed here, countless others from his previous life simply didn't. Abel would have to seek out alternatives and revise his recipes.

This felt like creating nearly entirely new potions, requiring resources that far exceeded what he needed for the wand. Over the past six years, he had managed to recreate a couple of potions under fortunate circumstances, like a healing potion and a blood tonic. Even so, their effectiveness was significantly weaker than those from his previous life—they were merely usable.

To further develop potions suitable for this world, Abel needed to invest significant time, energy, and—most importantly—money. He needed enough funds to conduct various experiments.

Thus, in his plan, Abel considered opening a potion research institute to seek investments. He could use the investors' money to fund research into potions that aligned with this world, then sell them as products. Of course, these were preliminary ideas, and Abel only had a general outline in mind.

But first, he needed a stronger, more suitable wand.

The potion system needed to be developed based on the materials of this world.

Having finally crafted a usable wand, Abel now faced two new challenges.

After running in the morning, he washed up and headed out with his schoolbag after breakfast.

Upon returning home the previous night, he had informed Terea that his bicycle had been stolen, so this morning, he took the bus to school, arriving earlier than usual.

"Sean, good morning!" he greeted as he entered the classroom.

"Abel, good morning! Have you heard? Tony Stark of Stark Industries has disappeared! The internet says he might have been kidnapped by terrorists. It's really scary. What's happening with these rich people?"

Abel felt a sudden jolt of surprise. He had seen news about Tony Stark a couple of times before, but it hadn't stuck in his mind until now. Reflecting on it was pointless, though; he would have to wait and see what unfolded. With Stark's return, Iron Man would soon emerge in this world.

In this way, New York would grow increasingly dangerous.

About ten years from now, the biggest crisis would come, and he only had ten years to prepare.

Of course, perhaps he could completely prevent everything from happening during this time and eradicate all dangers before they blossomed. But that required him to possess the power to resolve all issues. That was the key!
