"Master Abel, this restaurant is one of the entrances. It is enchanted with magic that allows ordinary people to ignore it, ensuring the privacy of this place as much as possible. Of course, to prevent any special circumstances, there are also guards in the restaurant. They are the gatekeepers of the secret place."

While Daniel was speaking, a middle-aged man in a long robe walked out from a space resembling the back kitchen. He glanced at Daniel and Abel, said nothing, and simply pointed at the door to the back kitchen. After pointing, he sat down at the bar.

Daniel nodded to Abel and led him through the door into the back kitchen.

As soon as they walked through the door, they were met with a completely different scene.

This place resembled the streets of a medieval town. It looked antique, but there were various high-tech items interspersed throughout that didn't appear out of place.

"There are many such mysterious places in the world, and this one in New York is among the largest. The style here is like this because, when the building was originally constructed, it was designed in a retro style. It's only over the past two hundred years that it has been transformed to give it a medieval appearance."

"Master Daniel, how do you trade here and communicate with other Sorcerers?"

"Did you see the stalls along the street? There are mages selling various items. The things on the booths are for sale and are clearly marked on a first-come, first-served basis, which helps avoid many conflicts. As for communication, there's a room similar to an exchange office up ahead, but each Sorcerer has their own heritage and companions. The original intention of the exchange office was good, but now it's mostly filled with half-hearted efforts and liars. Master Abel, you can get to know it, but I don't think it's necessary to engage in any deep communication."

"Thank you, Mage Daniel. I'm grateful you came with me; it has helped a lot."

Abel's words were polite. Although he didn't believe he would suffer significant losses here, the people present were all Sorcerers, and he couldn't guarantee that there wouldn't be any threats. The chaotic nature of the place was enough to give him pause, and Daniel's presence helped mitigate those concerns.

The two walked around, with Abel paying attention to the various stalls. He purchased materials that suited him; since they were items that could be found in the real world, they had only undergone minor processing and weren't too expensive.

Kamar-Taj's basic magic was more akin to melee magic, where spells complemented martial arts in combat. The more powerful Sorcerers could open the mirror dimension and portals and utilize other types of magic.

Once a Sorcerer reached a deeper realm of magic, they would begin to draw upon higher dimensions and demonic powers for their spells. At that point, Kamar-Taj's mages were unique and extremely powerful in terms of combat ability.

However, Kamar-Taj's magic system also had its weaknesses, particularly regarding healing and recovery spells and potions, which were quite superficial. Otherwise, the Ancient One wouldn't have been so interested in the formula for the trauma healing potion he provided.

After shopping for nearly two hours, Abel's backpack was stuffed with numerous materials, and his wallet was nearly empty. He had exhausted Terea's pocket money and his part-time job earnings.

At that moment, Abel glanced at the materials he had yet to purchase.

"Master Daniel, let's get out of here now."

"Okay."

Daniel immediately left with Abel.

Just as they stepped outside, Daniel whispered to Abel, "Master Abel, did you notice?"

"I did. They've been following us for half an hour. They're waiting for us to leave, right? But why don't they act here? They've worked hard to tail us at the risk of being discovered?"

"Although I can't see them clearly, there are guards here. The Ancient One once told me that there's a sorceress named Agatha Harkness, a very powerful magic partitioner. It's unlikely that a mage of her caliber would remain here, but her home is nearby, so she often stays here. Because of her presence, no one dares to cause trouble."

Abel had no prior knowledge of this name, but since the Ancient One referred to her as a very powerful master of magic, it was evident that Agatha Harkness was indeed formidable.

"So that's why. It's a pity I won't have the chance to meet this great magician."

Daniel smiled at Abel's words but added, "Master Abel, after we leave, I'll immediately open the mirror space and take you out of here to prevent those people from catching up. Although I'm not afraid of them personally, it's difficult to guarantee that there won't be additional complications."

"Master Daniel, when I leave here, I want to see for myself how strong they are. It just so happens I want to gauge my own magical abilities."

Daniel frowned slightly and said to Abel, "Master Abel, those guys are all seasoned mages. I'm afraid everyone has some tricks up their sleeves. I'm worried..."

"I know you're concerned about me, but just stay close. We're in New York, after all. You can open a portal and return anytime. There shouldn't be a problem, right?"

"No problem. As a guardian of the Sanctum in New York, I can directly open a portal and return there."

"Then it's settled. When I go out, I'll test their strengths myself. Maybe my abilities will exceed your expectations, Master Daniel."
