Chapter 41

The magic wand tapped in Tony's direction and then gently waved toward him. Tony immediately seemed to be caught by an invisible hand and was pulled to Abel's side.

"Tony, how are you?"

"Abel? Why are you here? Were you in California?"

"I was in New York. Magic is sometimes more convenient than you think."

Getting up from the ground, Tony reached out and removed most of the damaged helmet from his armor. "Abel, I need to switch to another suit. Can you hold him off for a while?"

"What's the deal with this guy? Has someone stolen your technology again?"

"He is Obadiah."

Abel raised an eyebrow, slightly intrigued. "Wasn't he captured by S.H.I.E.L.D.? How did he end up here in a significantly stronger suit?"

"Before he was transferred to federal prison, a fire broke out there, and several people died. Among them was Obadiah. But now it seems he's alive, and he has some serious support behind him to build this suit."

Seeing Tony's distressed expression, Abel understood the weight of the situation. While he could investigate later, for now, he needed to buy Tony time. "Okay, I see. We can figure this out later. For now, just go and get into a more powerful armor as quickly as you can."

Rolling his eyes in frustration, Tony knew he didn't have time to explain everything. He immediately took off toward the storage area for his other suits.

As Tony left, Obadiah walked toward Abel.

"I've heard tales of superpowers, but it's truly unexpected to encounter one who can kill a powered individual with their own hands. Apart from Tony and Pepper, you're the one I want to kill the most. What a stupid move—you came here all by yourself."

Abel didn't waste time talking with Obadiah. He raised the wand in his hand and summoned the scattered concrete walls around him, causing them to float and speed toward Obadiah.

"WaddiWasi!"

Boom!

Boom!

Obadiah blasted the two largest pieces of concrete with his fists, disregarding the smaller debris, and charged toward Abel.

But at that moment, a piece of concrete suddenly transformed, morphing into a thick chain that wrapped around Obadiah's legs, causing him to stagger and nearly trip. Obadiah broke the chain with a slight force.

"Heh, tricks. Is this all you can do? Why not attack my knee this time? Or is there nothing you can do against the upgraded Iron Monger?"

Abel observed the second generation of Iron Monger, pondering Obadiah's overconfidence. While he seemed to be playing with Tony, Abel suspected he had a deeper purpose for not immediately killing him.

But why was that?

He didn't understand.

First, he had to find a way to deal with Obadiah. He was no longer the same as six months ago; not only had his magic power grown stronger and more vigorous, but many spells that were difficult to cast due to his previous limitations could now be fully manifested.

Spotting a concrete stone at his feet, Abel swung his wand and pointed at it, sending it flying toward Obadiah at a speed close to that of a bullet.

"WaddiWasi!"

Seeing the stone hurtling toward him, Obadiah sneered. The Iron Monger II could ignore even real bullets, so he dismissed the small stone.

But then, a white light suddenly bloomed from Abel's wand, causing the small stone to grow exponentially until it was nearly the size of Obadiah, all while maintaining its speed. It slammed into Obadiah's body!

"Engorgio!"

Boom!

The massive stone struck Obadiah head-on, inflicting considerable damage. The enormous weight finally forced him to the ground, pinning him beneath the stone.

Crunch…

Obadiah slowly stood up, grasping the gigantic stone and throwing it back at Abel.

At that moment, Abel pointed at the flying stone. Under his control, the gigantic stone morphed into more than a dozen thick chains that surrounded Abel and spun in a circle before shooting toward Obadiah, as if they had a will of their own, constantly entangling him.

"You can never trap me!"

Click, click… Bang!

The chains broke, but Obadiah did not immediately attack Abel. Instead, he kept observing him.

Just now, whether it was the sudden enlargement of the stone Abel shot out or the stone that he threw back that transformed into chains, Obadiah was at a loss. He had never encountered such a strange ability before!

"Obadiah, are you afraid? Then I'll attack."

After saying this, Abel waved his wand and pointed at the ground beneath Obadiah's feet. Suddenly, a thick pillar erupted from the ground, striking the ceiling above him.

Boom!

The ceiling and the stone pillar created by Transfiguration exploded, and the six propellers on Obadiah's suit ignited, propelling him downward toward Abel.

"Protego!"

An invisible barrier materialized above Abel's head, blocking the collision with Obadiah.

At the same time, Abel aimed his wand at Obadiah and cast the Levitation Charm, attempting to pin him to the ground. However, at that moment, Obadiah's thruster burst with high power, enabling him to break free from Abel's spell. He charged toward Abel and threw a punch.

Just as Abel was about to open a portal to cut off Obadiah's arm, a golden-red figure emerged from behind a wall and collided with Obadiah head-on, blocking Abel's path.
