Chapter 48

Boom!

Abel stood on the roof of the building, watching the two giants below collide. He recognized them as Hulk, Bruce Banner, and Abomination.

He had no intention of joining their battle. Instead, Abel pinpointed his target location, transforming into black smoke and soaring into the air.

Earlier, while at home, Abel had seen news coverage of Hulk and Abomination and realized his opportunity had come. He found an excuse to leave the house, opened a portal, and arrived here.

Following the traces left by the American soldiers, Abel smoothly entered the research institute run by the current big boss, alias Mr. Lan, before his mutation.

The black smoke swirled around him, coalescing into his physical form as he emerged and swiftly shot out all the monitors in the laboratory.

Looking around, Abel found no one present, but he noticed a broken jar on the floor containing Bruce Banner's blood, which dripped down, forming a shape that vaguely resembled a human head.

Without further investigation, Abel pulled out his cloth bag, waved his wand lightly, and all the blood bags or jars containing Bruce Banner's blood, along with various documents and computer hard drives, floated to his side and into the bag. The magic bag created by the Expansion Charm now resembled legendary storage equipment.

Having collected everything, Abel heard footsteps approaching from outside. He realized that whether from the military, S.H.I.E.L.D., or Hydra, they wouldn't easily give up. As soon as they learned about the situation, they would send someone immediately.

Now that he had what he wanted, Abel didn't plan to stay any longer. He transformed into black smoke and vanished from the almost empty laboratory.

This form of black smoke was actually a way to use Apparition.

Using this Apparition form allowed him to teleport while appearing as black smoke or light fog. This method could also facilitate attacks during movement, enhancing the previous mobility of wizards.

In his previous life, Abel had witnessed large-scale battles between the Order of the Phoenix and the Death Eaters, where both sides transformed into black smoke and light fog to engage each other, unleashing various spells. Abel had mastered Phantom Transformation in his sixth grade, considered exceptionally talented in that world.

The black smoke flew through the sky like a pitch-black python.

As he flew, Abel felt a long-lost thrill, pushing aside memories of his past life. He glanced down at the Hulk, who had just defeated Abomination, before descending without looking back, returning to the roof of his home.

Just as he was about to push open the door on the roof to go inside, Abel suddenly felt an energy that made him shiver and tremble coming from the north. He turned his head to look, but all he could see in the chaotic night of New York was darkness. Yet he could clearly sense the massive energy that had suddenly appeared.

What is going on?

It seemed that only he could feel it; the ordinary people around him remained oblivious.

Could this unbelievable power belong to the magic side?

Realizing this, Abel chose not to return home immediately. Instead, he decided to go to Kamar-Taj. Others might not know what was happening, but Abel was certain that the Ancient One would have insight into the matter.

When Abel arrived at Kamar-Taj, he found Wong there.

"Where is the Ancient One?" Abel asked directly.

"Wong replied, "The Ancient One has gone to Mexico. She mentioned there are some things that need to be investigated."

Mexico?

Instantly, Abel understood what the energy he felt was likely related to. It was very probable that Odin had sent Thor and that Thor's Hammer was on its way down to Earth.

Abel vaguely recalled that Thor and his hammer had been sent down separately, and the massive energy he sensed was likely the result of Thor's hammer being propelled to Earth via the Rainbow Bridge. This energy source was probably similar to magical energy.

It was worth noting that the timing of Thor's hammer and Thor's arrival seemed to differ. The hammer reached Earth before Thor did.

From this perspective, since Thor's hammer had already arrived, Thor's appearance couldn't be far behind.

Having just built a good relationship with Tony, Abel felt the weariness of soon dealing with Thor as well.

Especially since it was in Mexico, it would be challenging to forge a good connection. At the very least, he needed to figure out how to stay in Mexico for a while. Otherwise, searching Asgard for materials would be a daunting task. Whether he could get in and out of Asgard depended on Thor.

After some contemplation, Abel looked at Wong and nodded. "Thank you very much, Wong. By the way, why is Kamar-Taj so quiet today? Where is everyone?"

"Kaecilius and Mordo have taken people to confront a devil in hell. It's said that the Witch Heart Demon, the son of Mephisto, the King of Hell, has come to Earth. Demons around the world are moving because of this, so they've gone to maintain order. They hope to use this opportunity to eliminate some demons if possible."

Mephisto, King of Hell? And his son, the Witch Heart Demon? This was a major event. Didn't the Ancient One know about it? Why hadn't she dealt with it, or was the situation in Mexico deemed more problematic than the witch's?

Abel couldn't fathom the Ancient One's reasoning. Still, considering the strength of Asgard and Odin, the Witch Heart Demon might not pose a significant threat.

While pondering this, Abel felt he might have overlooked something.

The King of Hell, Mephisto, and his son, the Witch Heart Demon… This situation on Earth felt somewhat familiar.

Forget it; these matters don't concern me. I need to focus on how to handle the Thor problem first!
