Chapter 54

"Meteolojinx Recanto!"

A blue electric light shot from the wand straight into the clouds in the sky, quickly dispelling the clouds above.

The sun was no longer obscured, and its rays poured down into the cemetery once again.

Carter Slade, who had been emitting large amounts of black smoke, quickly returned to his human form under the sunlight. This time, unless he reunited with the spirit of vengeance, he would never become a Ghost Rider again.

"You… The Contract of San Venganza must not fall into the hands of those demons. As long as it leaves this cemetery, it will be discovered by them immediately!"

"I will not return this to you, but I can guarantee that it will not fall into the hands of the demons."

"You don't understand. The real danger is not the Sorcerer, but Mephisto! He is the truly dangerous one. Mephisto will never let go of the Contract of San Venganza!"

"If something is hidden, it can always be obtained by Mephisto, but if it is destroyed, it becomes impossible."

Hearing this, Carter Slade paused for a moment. Abel's body then turned into a whirlpool and disappeared from the spot.

Half an hour later.

Kamar-Taj.

Abel sat on the futon and spoke to the Ancient One: "Ancient One, what the Black Heart wants to find is the Contract of San Venganza.

In my opinion, he wants to use it to strengthen his power against his father Mephisto or to build a magical dimension on Earth. That is wishful thinking; it's simply impossible.

I fear that from the very beginning, the Black Heart's understanding of the Contract of San Venganza was flawed, and his purpose is not something that the Contract can help him achieve.

So, I think all of this is Mephisto's doing. It is very possible that everything, including the Sorcerer who thinks he can replace Mephisto as the lord of the Hell dimension, is part of Mephisto's conspiracy."

The Ancient One nodded slowly but did not speak immediately. Instead, she poured a cup of tea for Abel and said, "Master Abel, what do you think we should do about this matter?"

He picked up the teacup and took a sip before replying, "I think it's better to let things unfold. If we need to eliminate those demons, we will.

However, in doing so, we must be wary of Mephisto's schemes. We should wait for the right moment; Mephisto is bound to show up.

Additionally, we can use the Ghost Rider as our breakthrough point to deal with the Black Heart and gain insight into Mephisto's purpose."

As the lord of the Hell dimension, Mephisto's power is almost on par with Dormammu.

Unlike Dormammu and the Dark Dimension, Mephisto and the Hell Dimension are inextricably linked to Earth. Demons can easily breach the restrictions and come to Earth if the timing is right.

However, there is a limitation: as the master of a dimension, only when you are within that dimension does your power reach its highest potential. Once you leave that dimension, not only can it lead to adverse consequences, but the power of the Lord of Dimensions and the enhanced strength of the dimension itself will immediately dissipate, leaving only the original strength of the Lord.

Therefore, the Lord of a Dimension will not easily leave their realm.

It is precisely for this reason that Dormammu, the Lord of the Dark Dimension, continues to expand it, seeking to engulf the real universe, thus increasing the power and area of his Dark Dimension and enhancing his authority.

The same applies to Mephisto, the lord of the Hell dimension. Once he leaves the Hell dimension, he remains a powerful devil, but he is not invincible outside of his dimension. For the Lord of Dimensions, it is akin to suicide.

Throughout the history of magic, many dimensional masters have been tricked out of their domains and killed by others. Those who succeeded in killing them claimed the dimension that originally belonged to the former master and became the new master.

Thus, it is impossible for Mephisto to leave the Hell dimension. Otherwise, aside from his other enemies, the Ancient One alone would be enough to overwhelm him.

Of course, for most people, even without the enhanced strength from the Hell dimension, Mephisto's power remains beyond their reach.

Therefore, regardless of what conspiracy Mephisto has in mind, he cannot personally descend to Earth. Instead, he will choose to let his followers act on his behalf or, as Abel speculated, secretly manipulate his son, the Black Heart, into doing his bidding. The Black Heart is a mindless pawn in Mephisto's game.

After the discussion, Abel temporarily left Kamar-Taj.

Once Abel departed, Mordo, who had been silent, suddenly spoke.

"Ancient One, why didn't we inquire about the Contract of San Venganza?"

"The Contract of San Venganza was discovered by Master Abel; he will naturally take control of it."

"But without any clues, he won't be able to retrieve it, and given the urgency of the situation, I believe it would be better for Kamar-Taj to take charge of such an important item. Master Abel's strength is formidable, but it cannot compare to that of Kamar-Taj or even the Ancient One!"

The Ancient One looked at Mordo. Though her demeanor remained unchanged, she sighed internally.

Mordo's temperament has always been small-minded; he is pedantic and stubborn. The future of Kamar-Taj rests on Stephen Strange.

"Mordo, Master Abel is our ally. I think you should understand what this means. I don't want you to continue to struggle with this matter."

After hesitating for a moment, Mordo, seeing the Ancient One's determination, lowered his head slightly to show obedience.

Noticing this, the Ancient One sighed and said no more.

In reality, the current situation was one of the reasons Abel chose to be an ally instead of fully joining Kamar-Taj.

As an ally, everything he obtains remains his own and is not tied to Kamar-Taj. However, if he were to join Kamar-Taj, he would become a member in name only, and what he gained would belong to Kamar-Taj. This was unacceptable to Abel, reinforcing his decision to maintain his independence.
