Chapter 110

Abel snatched the ring known as Laser Beam. This rather uninspired name wasn't his own but was bestowed by its predecessor, Man Man. Abel couldn't help but complain about it. While Man Man had an eye for fashion, his naming sense left much to be desired.

(I tried very hard to find the original name of 'Man Man" but couldn't.... Sorry)

To get to the point, this ring could project any form of energy. The Mandarin could utilize it to create strong shock waves or sound waves, as well as control electromagnetic fields for gravitational and repulsive forces. It was an incredibly versatile ring, second only to cosmic treasures imbued with the power of authority, making it a prized possession among sub-cosmic artifacts.

Although each of the ten rings possessed unique powers, Abel found that their functions varied greatly. Fortunately, the ring he captured was perfectly suited for him, compensating for his abilities. In contrast, the rings that controlled frost, fire, thunder, and hurricanes were the least helpful, as they overlapped with Abel's own magical skills.

Glancing at the Frost Ring in his hand and the newly acquired energy ring, Abel decided to name it simply the Energy Ring. He figured that this name at least had better taste than the Mandarin's, or so he hoped!

Boom!

With a muffled sound, a chunk of concrete flew into the air from the ruins of a collapsed building, shattering into rubble and dust. The Mandarin stood up amidst the wreckage, the severed finger he had lost now healed, and the nine rings on his hands glimmered faintly.

Chanting a low, incomprehensible mantra, the ground began to vibrate violently. The mountain forest surrounding the palace seemed alive, producing an earthquake that shouldn't have occurred.

Abel, surrounded by rising black smoke, watched the Mandarin from mid-air.

Suddenly, a massive dark green claw erupted from the ground, cracking the earth beneath it. As the building crumbled, a fierce dragon with dark green wings, a thick tail, and long, sharp horns emerged.

The dragon's colossal head lifted the Mandarin from the ground, and it let out a roar, mixed with flames and smoke, directed at Abel!

Extraordinary Dragon!

This giant creature, resembling a dragon of Earth yet actually an alien being, had been summoned by the Mandarin after arriving on Earth. Its strength was undeniable.

With the Extraordinary Dragon now summoned, the Mandarin wasted no time, signaling it to attack Abel.

A torrent of dragon flames erupted from the dragon's mouth, billowing toward Abel with overwhelming force.

The Frost Ring on Abel's left hand glimmered as the Energy Ring activated, creating a formidable energy field. The two forces merged into a horrific cold current, forming a tornado-like storm that clashed against the dragon's flames.

Fire and ice met in midair, two opposing forces consuming each other until they finally vanished.

At that moment, a golden ray pierced through the flames and cold wind, aimed straight for Abel's head!

Anticipating this, Abel raised his wand, conjuring three invisible barriers that sprang up in an instant. The golden ray penetrated each barrier in turn before grazing Abel's left cheek, leaving a thin line of blood but no other damage.

As Abel touched his wounded cheek, it quickly healed.

He glanced at the Extraordinary Dragon soaring toward him, shaking its wings as it ascended. Holding his magic wand aloft, he began chanting a powerful incantation.

A fierce wind whipped around him, dark clouds gathered, and lightning crackled, as rain and snow began to fall.

In an instant, the weather turned violent, but Abel maintained this extreme change over the area above the Mandarin's palace, showcasing his mastery of natural magic learned from Asgard. He could control the weather like a god!

"Wow!"

With a roar, the Extraordinary Dragon unleashed a fiery blast at Abel in the air.

At that moment, Abel waved his wand, sending a ray of hellfire spiraling from the tip, which quickly swallowed the dragon's flames and surged toward the Extraordinary Dragon.

Seeing this, the Mandarin clenched his right fist and thrust it forward. A cloud of pitch-black energy erupted into the air, morphing into a sphere that formed a small virtual black hole. Even the scorching hellfire was drawn into it and obliterated.

While the power of authority was formidable, it still operated within the world's laws. This was why powerful dimensional masters seemed invincible in their own realms, as their authority allowed them to override dimensional rules. For instance, Dormammu was nearly unbeatable in his dark dimension, but even the Ancient One would struggle against him outside of it.

This necessity for dimensional authority also explained why Dormammu sought to engulf Earth in darkness; by doing so, he could truly eliminate foes like the Ancient One.

Thus, even though the power of authority was not wholly invincible, it still posed a significant challenge.

Abel was not dismayed when the hellfire he had conjured was neutralized by the Mandarin. He observed as the Mandarin and the Extraordinary Dragon charged toward him, wand in hand. Suddenly, a blue-and-white electric light shot into the dark clouds above.

In an instant, the clouds surged violently, with thunderbolts weaving through them like a celestial dragon.

Abel's eyes glowed with blue and white light, electric sparks dancing in his irises. The incantations halted as twelve glowing runes, charged with electric energy, swirled around his wand.

Recognizing that the moment had come, Abel swung his wand down. The center of the dark cloud began to churn like a whirlpool, revealing a luminous orb resembling an eye. In an instant, it shot out a dazzling bolt of white lightning, striking the Mandarin, who stood atop the Extraordinary Dragon!

Rumbling…

The thunder erupted as the Extraordinary Dragon howled in pain, plummeting from the sky and crashing to the ground.
