Chapter 68:Adaptation(Part1)

Yang Zhai looked toward the class. He moved his head here and there to look at the kids. When the kids saw Yang Zhai looking at them, they lowered their heads.

They knew that if they angered Yang Zhai, then it would be them who would be showing a great show to the others. Thus, they did not dare anger Yang Zhai.

"Everyone, stand up." Yang Zhai said all of a sudden.

"Huh, why?" one of the kids, who was sitting at the front, was taken aback by Yang Zhai's sentence and muttered involuntarily.

"Did you not hear me? I said, ``stand up." Yang Zhai repeated again.

Everyone hurriedly stood up. They did not understand why Yang Zhai suddenly asked them to stand up, but they did not dare to disobey him.

"Now, come with me." Yang Zhai walked past everyone and excited the class.

The others looked at each other and then began to follow Yang Zhai.

Yang Zhai came out of the class and stood in the field that was in front of the class. This field had wooden fences around it. In the middle was a small fountain. Small trees were also standing around the fences.

"Now, gather around this fountain in a circle." Yang Zhai then looked back and said to everyone.

Everyone did as Yang Zhai told them. They circled around the fountain.

"Sit down," Yang Zhai ordered when he saw that everyone had already circled around the fountain.

"Huh… but why do we have to sit." Someone asked from the crowd.

"Are you sitting or not?" Yang Zhai's tone turned serious.

After Yang Zhai's tone turned serious, nobody was brave enough to defy him and hurriedly sat down.

"You should learn your lesson from this and should not interfere in my matters anymore. And always keep your noses to where they belong. From now on, if I see anyone doing this again, I will make sure you learn your lesson. And you will sit here until the Academy time ends. Nobody will speak either, and nobody is allowed to move even an inch." Yang Zhai said and looked at Chin Mae.

"Chin Mae, keep an eye on everyone. If anyone moves even an inch or says something, inform me. Remember this, I don't want any negligence." Yang Zhai stated this and glanced at Ci An.

"Come with me."

Ci An followed Yang Zhai into the class.

Everyone was confused by what had just happened. They did not understand anything. They were expelled from the class and then were made to sit near the fountain until the Academy time ended.

They wanted to discuss the situation, but then remembered that Yang Zhai had asked them to stay silent. Thus, they could not even discuss it with each other now.

Chin Mae also did not move from his place or speak. Even though Yang Zhai had asked him to monitor everyone, he didn't say whether he could move or not. Thus, he didn't take a chance and remained at his place.

On the other hand, in the classroom,

"It is Rank 3?" Yang Zhai looked at an oval-shaped Blue Gem.

It was emitting a mysterious aura. Its size was only three inches. In the center of the gem, a purple glow could be seen. Of course, Yang Zhai could only see a blurry Blue-Gem with a blurry purple glow. But he didn't need to see it clearly anyway, as he remembered this Blue-Gem clearly from his previous life. He could picture the shape of this gem in his mind.

When Yang Zhai touched it, a mysterious feeling entered his body. This Blue-Gem was one of the most desired items in the whole world. It had many uses. And what was even more mysterious was that this Gem did not belong to any path. Its value was so much that if he wanted, he could even strike a deal with an elder.

And Cu Gil gave him a Rank 3 Blue-Gem? This baffled him. Elder Cu also had Rank 2 Blue-Gems, but he gave Yang Zhai a Rank 3 Blue-Gem instead.

"Impressive, I thought he would give me a Rank 2 Blue-Gem. What are you playing at, Cu Gil?" Yang Zhai was lost in thoughts.

He was truly bewildered by Cu Gil's decision of giving him a Rank 3 Blue Gem.

"Sigh, Cu Gil, it seems that this secret is too valuable to you. Whatever, I will think about this when I have the time." Yang Zhai heaved a long sigh and muttered to himself. It seemed that this secret's value was more to Cu Gil than Yang Zhai had initially thought.

"You, go out and sit with the others." Yang Zhai waved his hand at Ci An.

"What did I do? It was them, who were trying to listen to us. So, why do I need to sit with them as well?" Ci An flared up again when she heard Yang Zhai.

Yang Zhai did not say anything and only looked at her.

When Ci An saw Yang Zhai looking at her. She did not say anything and lowered her head. Then, she walked out of the class silently.

Outside the classroom,

The other kids saw Ci An coming out of the classroom. They saw that Ci An walked out of the room in a bad mood and came to their side. After that, she also sat down with them.

Others did not say anything, but it was obvious from their expressions that they were impatient to speak. But they managed to stay silent. They could only look at each other awkwardly. Everyone looked weirdly at each other, as if they were trying to communicate with their facial expressions and with their eyes.

Yang Zhai came out and looked at the awkward situation.

"Are you guys lovebirds? Why are you trying to communicate with your eyes?"

When the kids heard Yang Zhai, their faces turned red.

"What are you talking about?"

"No, we are not,"

"This situation happened because of you."

"Can you please let us sit in the classroom now?"

Four kids spoke out of embarrassment. Three were girls and one was a boy.

"Four of you stand up." Yang Zhai said to the four kids.

When the four kids heard this, they realized that they were supposed to be silent. Thus, they stood up without bickering with Yang Zhai.

"Why are you sitting outside the class?" Elder Ren came from behind Yang Zhai and asked. He saw that the kids were sitting outside the class; he did not enter the class and came to Yang Zhai.

Yang Zhai turned around and said,

"Elder, I punished them for trying to interfere in my matters. I hope you understand and take our class outside today." Yang Zhai greeted elder Ren and explained the reason.

When Elder Ren heard Yang Zhai, he looked behind Yang Zhai and saw that the four kids were standing, and the rest were sitting.

"No, I don't mind. You are the class leader; therefore, you can do whatever you see fit to discipline them. Anyway, they should not have interfered in your matters. Let's begin the class. All of you, turn around and look at me." Elder Ren said to the kids.

"Elder, actually, their punishment is to sit right where they are and are not allowed to move even an inch. And also, they are not allowed to speak." Yang Zhai stopped Elder Ren.

Then, Yang Zhai looked behind and said,

"Whoever moved from their places is to stand up right now. And you guys won't be sitting and will stand on the spot till evening, even after the Academy time ends."

After Yang Zhai said this, only two boys stood up. However, Yang Zhai knew that these were all kids. Most kids would be ignorant at this age. There was no way that only two kids moved from their places after elder Ren asked them to turn around.

But Yang Zhai didn't remember the positions of the kids, in which they were sitting, because he could not see anything clearly. His worldview was totally blurry, so how could Yang Zhai see their exact sitting positions? But Yang Zhai had a solution for this as well.

"Chin Mae, tell me about the kids who moved even a little." Yang Zhai asked Chin Mae. So, what if Yang Zhai couldn't point out the students? He just had to make someone else do his work. And who could be better than Chin Mae to follow his orders? Chin Mae followed him because he needed Yang Zhai. Chin Mae was not like the other kids, who had to listen to Yang Zhai because he was their leader.

Chin Mae pointed to five more kids.

"Stand up," Yang Zhai made all of the five kids stand up.

Yang Zhai was doing this because he had a great use for these kids. He wanted to slowly instill subservience in their instincts toward Yang Zhai. They were all kids, they could not be forced to follow him: some would develop hostility towards him, some would scheme against him, some would only take his orders lightly, and many more.

And even if Yang Zhai managed to make them follow his orders because of fear, then they would leave him at a crucial time to free themselves, or they might even turn against him when their fear was lifted by someone. This would not do any good to Yang Zhai. This situation would not conform to his plan.

But if he could slowly instill subservience in their instincts and behavior, then they would listen to him even in danger subconsciously.
