Get Used To It

Yang Zhai killed the remaining two mortals as well. He then checked their bodies and found nothing, it was to be expected.

"I killed them for no reason, my plan failed, I killed them with my conscience, but don't know why. I also released my killing intent, even though I controlled it to the limits and did not release it fully, it was still released." Yang Zhai thought about the situation that had occurred all of a sudden.

The aura that was released into the air was also his killing intent: however, he had limited it and had not released it fully. He also did not regret what he did.

"There is no point in regretting something which cannot be undone. I will just find another way." Yang Zhai tried to understand why he killed the six people, but could not.

As always, he burned these bodies and went back to the mortal village.

This time around, he did not clean the blood on his body, nor did he change his clothes. However, he wore a cloak and covered his face with a mask.

"You are back, brother Fen." Yang Zhai was greeted by Si Yu and Li Na after entering his rented house.

These two had gotten used to Yang Zhai in the previous week and were a little comfortable around him now.

Yang Zhai removed his cloak and the mask.

"Ah,"

Both Si Yu and Li Na took a step back after looking at Yang Zhai and were shocked.

"Brother, why, why… are you covered in blood?"

"I killed someone. We are cultivators and this is normal, you two should get used to it. If you don't, you two will lose each other to your enemies' hands" Yang Zhai looked at the two and said.

He had already expected their reaction, and this was also the reason he had not cleaned the blood off his body. He wanted to make them used to it.

Yang Zhai would have to kill many more people in the future, and they had to consider the killings nothing, to stay with him: otherwise, they had no benefit for him.

He was keeping them with him to get benefits out of them, not to protect them.

For the next month, he began to find an opportunity to infiltrate the residence of the village leader.

He had already confirmed that the whole village was the base of the mortals who killed the newly awakened cultivators. Even though not all of the mortals were involved, these people who killed the disciples were spread throughout the entire village.

He did not know the identities of most of them. He could not find at all about these peoples' identities or their names.

He had also reached the rank 2 peak stage and could advance to rank 3 if he wanted. But, he wanted to reach the perfect stage first.

"And I know where to find a rank 2 cultivator." Yang Zhai smiled and left the village.

Every village under a clan would have a cultivator of that clan monitoring it. The same was the case for the Bai clan. Every clan would appoint a cultivator according to their strength and the importance of the village.

The Bai clan usually appointed rank 2 cultivators for the monitoring of the villages. Every appointed cultivator would have a temporary house outside the village.

Yang Zhai did not need to search for the appointed cultivator's location, or the house. It was because he knew where the appointed cultivator of this village lived.

Yang Zhai came outside a hut.

He came in front of the hut and knocked on the hut's door.

"Brother, brother, hurriedly open the door." Yang Zhai began to shout.

"Who are you?" a person came out of the hut,

The person seemed to be around 22 years old. He had a short brown beard. He was not very handsome, but had a likable face.

"Brother, Dij Tou, I am Jaen Fen. I, I am the friend of your little brother Dij Rea. Your family, your family, is in danger. The clan is hiding this from you."

Yang Zhai had tears in his eyes and his face was also burned. These burn marks were the same that he had given himself a month ago to hide his identity.

He seemed to be anxious and worried about something.

"The Bai clan is hiding this from you. This was the reason I came by myself. I am only a rank 1 cultivator, that's why it took me a few hours to reach here. Your parents are already dead, and Dij Rea is missing."

Yang Zhai panted whilst saying this. He kept on speaking without meeting the man.

"What are you saying? How can I believe you?" Dij Tou said with narrowed eyes. He couldn't believe Yang Zhai just like that.

"Ah, h, how… can I make you believe… me? Huh, I know, when you were about to leave to come here, you promised Dij Rea that you would bring him a rank 1 Ka, right? Not just that… you even mocked him many times because his height was not growing. "Yang Zhai said this, making Dij Tou shocked.

"How could you know all this? I never mocked him in front of others, and nobody besides me and my little brother knows about this promise." Dij Tou asked with confusion.

"It's because Dij Rea told me himself, and he also said that he loves and is waiting for you to fulfill your promise. Forget about this, and do something. Someone killed your father and took your little brother."

"Your house in the Bai village was also burned. I tried to save your mother, but because my face was burned when a wood fell on me, I could not save her because of the pain. She died."

Tears started to fall from Yang Zhai's eyes when he said all this.

"Uhm," However, Dij Tou still had his doubts about Yang Zhai.

"Ah, please save Dij Rea, please. I know it's difficult for you to believe me, but please — believe in me just once. Dij Rea's life is in danger. You are his big brother, right, so just save him… please." Yang Zhai fell to his knees and began to cry.

Dij Tou looked at Yang Zhai's situation and thought,

From seeing him, I don't think he is lying. If he is not lying and is telling the truth, then my little brother might die because of me: Dij Tou pondered and said to Yang Zhai,

"How did you know about my location?"

"Dij Rea had told me that you were appointed to look after the third village under our clan. He had also told me that your hut is outside the village. It took me some time to find your hut after arriving here, but my luck was good, and I found your hut without searching much."

"Very well, then, let's go. I believe you, but remember this, if you lied to me, I will kill you."

Dij Tou said this and walked forward, passing Yang Zhai, who was on the ground, crying.

"Thank you, thank you, brother. I am sure Dij Rea will be saved."

Yang Zhai stood up after saying this and wiped the tears.

"Let's go, ah…" Dij Tou was about to run for the Bai village when he was suddenly sent flying.

He collided with a tree and he stopped after colliding with the tree.

Yang Zhai had made sure to only injure Dij Tou heavily and not to kill him.

And Dij Tou was also a rank 2 cultivator, so his body was stronger than a mortal body.

Yang Zhai had caught Dij Tou off guard, not giving him any time to be prepared.

Dij Tou felt a pain in his back, which traveled to his front. It seemed like he had some of his bones broken. He fell unconscious because of the pain and the injuries.

Yang Zhai hurriedly went, and tied Dij Tou before tending Dij Tou's injuries. He did not want Dij Tou to die; otherwise, there was no use for a dead corpse.

Thereafter, he began to dig a pit a mile away from the location of the fight, with the help of the Dug Worm Ka.

It took him a few hours. Then like before, he also covered the entrance of the pit and created a small, narrow rounded ditch for breathing.

Yang Zhai sat before the injured and unconscious Dij Tou. Yang Zhai had also cut Dij Tou's hands and feet from his body to render him helpless to do anything if he woke up. Of course, Yang Zhai had already stopped Dij Tou's bleeding.

"Limitations are meant to be judged. They are put for a reason and are also broken for a reason. Behind limitations might lie a deep abyss or a great ocean of knowledge."
