"Allen, son, how many times have I told you that you shouldn't climb the lookout tower!."
When he looked down he found his father gesturing him to come down. He quickly took one last look at the forest before climbing down.
Once he had reached the ground his father sighed and grabbed his hand, "Allen I know that you want to look out into the forest but it's not safe for you to be that high up. Also, you can't be out all day, you'll make your mother worry."
Allen was now 6 years old and he could finally do everything he wished he could have done in his past life. Well, at least everything that could be done in a small town since his parents didn't allow him to go out into the forest.
"Dad, I learned to read faster than anyone else in this town. When it comes to math you know no one can beat me. Am I not a responsible son who does nearly anything that you ask? Why is it that all the other kids are allowed out to play outside? Do you not trust me?"
His father laughed and picked him up, "No, I don't trust you because you are too smart for your own good. Now about what you said, not all kids get to play outside, and even if it's true that's because their parents are a bunch of idiots. Who the hell lets their kid go outside at an age where they are full of curiosity."
One of the things that Allen loved about his father was that he would always say what he had in mind. That also meant that no matter what his father could not get drunk or he might end up making enemies out of all the adventurers in town.
Airam Town was constructed near a dungeon so it had a good amount of adventurers visiting. The dungeons were classified by their ranks and the order they were discovered, the one nearby was called F-46. The dungeon itself was F-ranked meaning that it only had 10 floors and the monsters that were found were pretty weak. It was the perfect place for adventures and new soldier recruits of nearby cities to use to level up.
The monsters that were found in F-36 are Stone Scaled wolves and Stone Scaled goblins. Every 10 floors there is a dungeon boss and the one from the dungeon was a goblin rider accompanied by a gang of 10 other riders.
When an adventurer kills a monster in the dungeon the body of the monster would dissipate and leave a core crystal which would be bought by the adventurers guild. The core would then be sold to the public to be used as an energy source for appliances. In other words, things functioned pretty much as they did in mangas. The only difference is that sometimes monsters would drop small beads. People who were known as summoners used that bead to summon the monster to who that summoning core belonged to. Sadly he didn't have that ability but he could still summon the monsters that Rahim sent as tributes.
The goblins and wolves dropped low-grade crystals, Allen knew that he needed them to buy the phone app on his phone or at least raise the mana he received per tap. When it was late at night he grabbed low-grade cores from street lamps. After telling Iris that he wanted to add them to the system the cores disintegrated and the debris was sucked into the phone. He was pissed when he found out that he needed 10 low-grade core crystals to make 1 core crystal in the system.
'I need to get into that dungeon soon, I nearly got caught stealing them last time.'
Since his father was giving him a piggyback ride he tapped on his head with a finger, "Yeah son?"
"Dad, do you think that I could learn how to use the bow? I want to enter the dungeon when I get older."
His father immediately stopped walking and put him down. He had a very serious expression on his face, "Allen you want to be an Adventurer? I understand that they might look like heroes to you but know that it's a very dangerous job. I knew that living in this town was going to lead to this, damn it Mary I knew I shouldn't have listened to you! Anyways son if that's what you want to do then I'll support you all the way just know that a bow and arrow might not be the best pick for monsters in this dungeon."
Allen nodded, "I know that the goblins and wolves have high defense, I just wanted to start as an archer since it's safer. I don't really like the idea of fighting in close quarters, at least not until I increase my level."
His father shook his head, "No, I said I was going to support you, if you ever want to enter a dungeon then you are going to learn how to use all the weapons possible. It might be safe to be in a group of adventurers but many of them are bastards who would betray you in a blink of an eye. Know that the only people who you can trust is your family and even then it's pretty rare to have that luxury. It's better if you learn to fight with each weapon while you are at a low level, at least that way you can learn to be resourceful and not only depend on your current levels."
'Well it's true that there are adventurers who betray you but I don't need them. I already have the monsters that I can summon. The best part is that I won't have to share cores with anyone.'
"Alright, dad I'll learn how to use as many weapons as I can but who is going to teach me? Knowing you having an adventurer teach me is a big no. I also don't think any of the town guards would be willing since they are always busy."
His father shook his head and gave a big smile, "Well your old man of course."
Allen looked at his father with disbelief for a few minutes before he sighed and looked at the sky, "I'm so going to die. I think that I have a higher chance to survive teaching myself."
He suddenly felt something hit the top of his head, "How dare you treat your father like that, you idiot. Also, you really need to get rid of your habit of saying what you're thinking out loud. Now hurry, your mother has already served our food. Oh and don't tell your mother about you wanting to enter the dungeon or about me training you alright?"
