Speeding [1]

"Why did he give us this responsibility.."

"Sigh.. It can't be helped. The other powerhouses are busy attacking another world, so we don't have the surplus powerhouses to help us."

"Damn it! If it fails, this will be pinned on us. Dying is better than that."

A group of zergs chatted as they went. They are the unlucky Demigod zergs who are chosen to transport the Origin Slate back to their home.

Supposedly, a Deity should've been the one who transported this, but due to the current circumstances, no one could.

As the frontline war is ongoing for more than a thousand years, the powerhouses present here are very balanced. The zergs made sure to place the right amount of zergs to slowly consume the Alliance.

If something goes wrong, they can still send a few more as reinforcements.

That situation changed more than a decade ago. The queen is lucky enough to find a new world. Eager to capture it, she allocated the surplus combat forces to invade that world along with some Seat members.

If they manage to benefit from that world, they'll only become stronger. With that, the invasion to the Alliance will only accelerate.

Though, it was also thanks to it that this Origin Slate situation happened.

Since the zerg Deities are locked with the Alliance's Deities, they can't move freely. If they do so, they will lose even more than the Origin Slate.

"The ship will arrive soon. Let's relax later."

"Wait, did you really think that someone could sneak past the frontline quietly? Even the other cases weren't like that!"

"He's right. The detection devices are on the frontlines is enough to discover them. Calm down, Velkm."

"I think you're right. I'm just overthink—"

She was speaking when one of the zergs beside her got blasted away. There, Maen who's wearing a transparent cloak on top of his silver Armor was spotted.

"-Shit! I knew it!"

Before the others could even react, ink-like darkness spread through the radius. The source of all that are 4 small cubes that were created by the twins.

"The hive's not working! Plan 2.1!"

One of the other leader shouted to them mentally. With that, they brought out the strongest one-time use item that they have, an Advanced God-Rank consumable.

Boom!

Frost appeared starting from the card that exploded. It slowed down everyone else for a second.

Bzzt!

Thankfully, a golden circular barrier was summoned by Kaede, appearing just in time to save them from being frozen completely. The black hexagonal devices with gold lines spread out, creating a golden circular barrier.

2 heatwaves were then summoned inside the barrier, melting the frost on their bodies.

"It's the worst! Quick!"

"Got it!"

Light caught the black card thrown by one of the twins. Then, he disappeared from others' sight. When he reappeared, he pierced through the zerg leader's chest.

"H-how?!"

"It's the power of our world!"

Its vital signs dropped quickly until it is dead.

"Damn it!"

Velkm threw out a card depicting a huge eyeball. After the eyeball appeared, moving outside the circular barrier became difficult.

"Lugh!"

Irna pulled out a black card with 7 computation circles engraved on it. With it, she summoned Light back into them. Meanwhile, Lugh used the card thrown at him.

At that moment, he felt strange energy enveloping him; it is a God-Ranked seal card.

[Absolute Hit]

-Invalidates a God-Ranked power within a single hit. The power of invalidation is dependent on the power's rank and the card's rank.

This is the reason why Light is able to pierce through that zerg although he has a God-Rank item protecting him.

Lugh utilized his movement technique to go to another dimension. He walked for a while before stopping.

As he reappeared in the main dimension, he's behind Velkm.

"Who-?!"

'<>.'

Space cracked as he swung the [Blade of Extremity]. The attack pierced through Velkm, but she still survived the attack.

'Time for counterattack!'

She sent out a strong mental attack towards Lugh. Still calm, he defended against that with his own Mental Power.

Even though he couldn't destroy it, he pushed it back. With that time frame, he disappeared from her sight and reappeared to grab a broken zerg hand that belonged to some zergs that he killed through his attack before.

"Fuck!"

Irna recalled him fast enough to avoid the incoming attacks of other zergs.

"How?! How did you do it?!"

"We should greet you with our strongest, too."

Jiel, the older Star Race twin became excited. He took out an energy crystal with an enormous amount of power. Only God-Ranked Spiritual Treasures could have that power.

"All in!"

"OK!"

The power of the 4 cubes that isolated them was strengthened to the maximum, without any care for energy consumption.

"Boom-!"

What Jiel threw out is the exact same thing that Lugh used during their escape-- [Peace Bombs]!

Boom!

The 4 spells engraved into it glowed in four different colors before exploding, effectively wiping out the entire zerg that was assigned to escort the Origin Slate out.

The golden circular barrier disintegrated into light spots after protecting them from the explosion. Meanwhile, the cubes responsible for isolating them ran out of energy, exposing Team 7 to the endless space.

"Let's go."

Irna led them as they escaped through that place. It was their plan to have only Lugh and Light battle. In this kind of mission, preserving the combat force is crucial. If they all got tired out, it becomes extremely dangerous for them.

Beep-!

"The detection weakens here. We can take it out now."

Piel, the other Star Race twin, said.

"Understood."

Kaede opened her 'Army Box' and summoned out a long black interstellar ship. It has a small build compared to other interstellar ships, but it has a faster speed, less CD time for space tunnels, etc..

For short, it sacrificed its size for greater mobility.

They all got into the ship. It doesn't have any home decorations, though it is filled with mechanical weapons, back-up suits, repair robots, and so on.

"You upgraded it to this? With just a quarter of the rewards?"

"Y-yes."

"Awesome!"

Due to the specialness of this mission, they were all given an allowance to create/buy God-Ranked consumables. Moreover, they could also ask for a quarter of the mission reward in advance to bolster their combat force.

Though, the consumables that were bought using the allowance will be returned to the military if they're not used.

It was a luxury that they haven't experienced before.

"This is why those Team 5 and below have such strength. If they always accept missions like this, it's impossible for them to not grow stronger."

Meili commented.

While they were talking, Kaede is driving this ship to its fastest speed. She prepared to jump into a space tunnel anytime.

The rest of the group relaxed, sitting down on the one-seaters of this ship. Even though the cushion is comfortable their tension couldn't disappear.

"?!"

"What is it?"

Irna, who sensed Lugh's change, asked. Throughout this mission, he is very calm. It was only at this time that his face twitched visibly.

"They're very fast. A group is about to arrive at our battle site."

"Kaede."

"Understood. I've prepared it already."

They didn't expect that one would quickly approach that site. Even if they used an isolation array, the traces of battle couldn't be hidden for long. Once the power of isolation wears off..

Everyone prayed that the isolation power could buy them more time until they arrive at their next spot.
