(Goku's house)

Goku was changing the diapers on a little Gohan when his eyebrows scrunched up in worry. A huge Ki had just suddenly appeared in the outskirts of West City.

That was near where Bulma's house was!

He had a feeling that trouble was coming. Maybe it was time he got in touch with his friends.

Gohan's moving brought Goku's attention back to him.

"No Gohan, hold still will ya buddy? Chichi will be mad if I don't finish cleaning you up."

(Kame House)

"Mmh? Oh dear. Such an overbearing aura. This doesn't seem good. No sir. Not good at all."

An old man lying down on a beach chair said while stroking his beard.

All around the world, the future Z fighters and anyone else who could sense Ki felt the sudden appearance of a powerful individual. And all of them wondered the same thing, who was this new player?

(Piccolo)

Piccolo's eyes went wide in shock.

"What…what is that? The Ki…it's much more powerful than even Son Goku! I need to be stronger. More powerful. No one is going to take my destiny away from me. I will conquer this world!"

He closed his eyes and continued to meditate. His resolve was strengthened, despite the grim situation.

That's because, the strange power he'd felt, while it was leagues above his own also told him something. He could grow even more powerful. That immense power level was evidence that what he had achieved could still be built upon.

And when he surpassed everyone…the world would be his to rule.

(Brian's P.O.V)

I flew over the land as I made my way to West City. The city where Capsule Corporation was located. The first step of my plans towards Killing Dormammu and taking his realm for my own would begin here.

I was under no illusions that it was going to be easy. But everything so far had been a fight for me. I had beaten the odds time and time again and prevailed although not all of my plans had gone off without a hitch. This time would be different. Dormammu would die and I would fuc…aah I mean I would finally meet Natasha.

The view changed from the desolate wilderness that was home to many strange creatures to a city filled with huge buildings. The architecture was different from my world. Many buildings were elected in strange designs that wouldn't be out of place in an alien world.

The life below me however was much similar to how I remember New York being. People were walking quickly on the sidewalk, there was traffic jams and a lot of car honking. Not different from the city life I grew up in. Well… except for the dozens of sapient animals I saw walking alongside normal humans. Different world different races I guess.

My trajectory was aimed for the huge Capsule Corporation building. Now that I was nearer, I found out that the anime didn't do the building any justice. The thing was huge. Like really really really huge. Three reallys. That's how huge it actually was.

And the security measures were nothing to scoff at either.

"Unidentified creature, you're trespassing. Come down with your hands up."

All around the building, weapons appeared from slots on the walls.

"Cute."

I was amused. None of them could actually hurt me but because Dr.Briefs is a mad genius, better be on the safe side.

I floated down to the lawn of the building at a secluded place on the back yard. A door opened on the ground section of the building and a short man dressed in a white scientist coat along with a blue haired young woman came out.

Dr Briefs and his daughter, Bulma, who was more of a genius than even he was looked as much as I'd imagined they would. Bulma had a gun/ blaster hybrid on hand and she was pointing it straight at me.

"Ok. Is this an invasion? Coz trust me mister my blaster is set to vaporize, not stun."

I rose my hands up.

"Huh don't shoot. I come in peace."

I told her, playing along.

"Bulma, that's not how you greet people, my dear. We don't even know what he wants"

Dr. Briefs told Bulma while sighing.

"Exactly Dad. Trust me…I know a creep when I see one."

The words set me off.

"Ok ok. Let's not insult each other now."

She didn't look fazed and instead motioned at me.

"You're working around shirtless! Ergo you're a creep."

"What are you talking about…oh shit."

I looked down at myself and found out I'd forgotten to find a change of clothes. My suit had been destroyed after all and all I had on were pants and boots. Now I understand her willingness to call me a creep.

"I'm sorry. I had a little bit of an...accident. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Brian Parker and I'm lost on the road of life."

No one laughed. Bulma snorted but that was more to mock me.

I don't get it. When Kakashi says it, it's funny. I'm a funny guy! No matter, King Kai would probably get it if I told him.

There was a short awkwardness or rather a BRIEF one. Get it? Am I trying too much?

Dr.Briefs coughed.

"Yes. Well nice to meet you Mr. Parker. What can I do for you? Put the blaster down Bulma dear."

She complied but still looked at me suspiciously. Jeez what's with the hate. You'd think she got dumped and now as a result hates all men. Ooooh... I'm right on the mark aren't I? Yamcha broke her heart or something right? Explains the attitude.

I made to answer Dr.Briefs but he interrupted me.

"Why don't you come in and we'll get you some clean clothes. We can have our talk right after you're done cleaning up, dear boy."

"Thank you for your generosity Dr.Briefs."

I followed them inside.

(The Lookout)

"What should we do Kami?"

Mr. Popo asked the resident deity of planet earth.

Kami tightened the grip on his staff till his knuckles turned a paler green.

"The situation is...delicate but not quite dire yet, Popo. We can only observe for the time being."

He told him.

What Kami neglected to tell his partner was that he had no idea on how to proceed. If the individual had been evil, the response would have been to gather Goku and other fighters and force the stranger to leave the planet just like he'd arrived. If the stranger had been good, Kami would have jumped at the opportunity to make contact with him and form a friendship.

The stranger was neither good nor bad. Kami could read his Ki. He had killed before but his Ki lacked the murky thickness of evil. That said it wasn't pure either. And this man was...powerful. Very powerful.

"Popo. Contact the others and tell them to be on standby. We might need to...approach our guest sooner than expected. He's arrived at the Capsule Corporation."

(Brian's P.O.V)

Mrs Briefs was an angel sent from heaven. No, seriously. She was so warm-hearted and kind, she reminded me of a lesser harsh Aunt May. And Aunt Amy was a Saint.

I was clothed, fed and fussed over in a way that made me feel welcome. Also a little guilty for what I had actually come here for. The initial plan was to locate the dragonball radar and steal it but these people...they're like a mirror version of my own family and I felt bad about stealing from them.

I needed their help though and while stealing from them was something I decided not to do, lying wasn't. God I'm such an ass.

We were all gathered in the dining room and after hearing my story about how I was a traveller from a different dimension, whose magical artefacts had unfortunately been damaged, hence leaving me stuck in their world, all of them had been sympathetic. Even Bulma. Though it hadn't been easy fooling the 2 geniuses with a made up story.

Fortunately none of them called me on it and I felt like I'd regained a little bit of my dignity back from the stupid joke earlier.

While they had me beat in IQ, my EQ was something they couldn't match. Thank you MJ for the unwilling acting lessons. She'd needed a partner to practice her lines with so...I'd picked up on a few things.

"So what do you need me to do for you, Brian? I'm a scientist first and foremost, I doubt I can help you fix your magical artefact."

Dr. Brief's told me regretfully.

I shook my head.

"I wouldn't expect you to do that for me Dr. Briefs. It's too much. The artefact itself is very mystical and science wouldn't help."

I responded.

"Can we see it? maybe something can be done."

Bulma asked and I shook my head.

"It's fused with my being. In its damaged state, if I bring it out, it might become irreparable."

I knew the lie I was selling was getting a little too unbelievable but I decided to stick with it. I was banking on the fact that the world was a strange place. Bulma had seen it for herself after all. Maybe that would carry me over their suspicions.

"Yes. Yes but you still haven't said what you need from me."

Dr. Briefs relented.

"I read a few ancient texts before coming here and most of them talk about 7 magical balls. Relics that can make any wish come true once collected. I would like to use them to repair my artefact. Your help would be valuable in locating these... Dragonballs."

Instantly, a trace of suspicion appeared in Bulma's eyes. Dr. Briefs on the other hand nodded and snapped his fingers in realization.

"Oh. I believe I might know of what you're talking about. Bulma actually went off on an adventure once to look for them. Bulma dear, do you still have that huh...ah Dragonball radar was it?"

Bulma looked unsure of what to say.

"Yes I do but..."

"That's great! If I can find those Dragonballs then maybe...maybe I can go home."

I said, hope coloring my tone. My face was set in a tentative expectant expression, as if I was scared yet happy at finally finding a light at the end of the tunnel. Bulma's face gradually softened and she smiled softly.

"Ok. Just give me a minute and I'll find it."

She quickly left the table and ran to her lab.

"Bulma dear, don't run inside the house."

Panchy, her mother shouted after her.

"Would you like dessert?"

She asked me and I nodded gratefully.

"Yes and thank you Mrs Briefs for the hospitality."

"Oh nonsense dear. You're welcome any time and please call me Panchy."

A few minutes later Bulma came up amidst dr.Brief's questions on how I could fly. I told him it was due to an energy I could tap into after training hard and thankfully he went quiet after that, losing a little interest. Seems like he knew about martial artists and Ki already.

"Here you go."

She placed the Dragonball radar in my hands and I smiled gratefully. The next morning came and after a very comfortable sleep, I left the Brief residence and West City. The Dragonball worked as intended and I could see where all the balls were located.

Time to gather a few magical balls, wake up an ancient eastern dragon and ask him to grant me my wish.

(Bulma's P.O.V)

Brian was tall, dark and handsome. His eyes were a sharp green that left butterflies fluttering in her stomach but...Brian was also a liar.

Bulma wasn't stupid. His story had elements that she couldn't quite discount or say were lies but...the ease at which the words left his mouth, was what left her suspicious.

She'd been lied to before. Heck she was a bonafide liar too! She would have also let it go on account of how fucking drool-worthy Brian was if it wasn't for one thing. The Dragonballs.

Bulma had seen it for herself. Those things had the power to do anything and goddamn she wasn't about to sit back and trust on Brian's words that he wasn't going to make a selfish wish that would only bring trouble.

That's why she hadn't had no qualms about placing a tracker on the radar.
