Hunger

That night, Xiang Kun received a WeChat message from Chang Bin asking about their meeting.

Naturally, he said that the conversation was not bad. He would continue to understand more about it later.

However, when Chang Bin found out that Xiang Kun had moved the meeting to the afternoon, he did not invite Baona to dinner and did not make any follow-up arrangements. After they went home at 5 pm, Chang Bin nagged at him.

Later that night, Chang Bin sent a WeChat message saying that he had gotten to know Xiang Kun through Wang Han. The girl seemed to have a good impression of Xiang Kun and thought that he was "humorous", "interesting", and "can be friends".

Chang Bin expressed that this sounded very promising and wanted him to be more proactive, talk more, meet more often.

Of course, Xiang Kun agreed immediately. However, he felt that Baona was just tactfully rejecting him. She meant that Xiang Kun was more suitable to be her friend. Of course, this was what he wanted.

After that, there was no contact between Xiang Kun and Baona for three days. Every day, they would spend more time in the gym during the day and train their vision and lung capacity at night.

The first time Xiang Kun drank blood was July 14th. The second time was July 17th, three days apart.

And now, it had been six days since he drank rabbit blood on the 17th of July. He still didn't feel sleepy or hungry.

During these six days, apart from some pure water, he didn't eat anything else, but his daily exercise was extremely great.

He wasn't sure when the next time he drank blood would come.

The first two times he drank blood, he only started to feel intense hunger after seeing blood. However, this time, he hoped that his body would take the initiative to "let out" that kind of need. This also allowed him to know how long he could last after drinking blood once.

Now, he had raised the remaining rabbits until they were white and fat. He even specially went to the supermarket to buy food for the rabbits. He was really about to become a "poop-picker".

I just hope I can finish this blood drinking before I move.

On the evening of the 23rd, when Xiang Kun was practicing his vision, he suddenly received Tang Baona's WeChat message.

"Saitama-sensei, are you there?"

"Saitama-sensei" was the nickname Baona had jokingly given him when she mentioned "One-Punch Man."

Xiang Kun thought about it and replied with a simple "Yes."

"What are you doing? Are you coming out for barbecue?"

Eating… was naturally impossible.

Xiang Kun was about to find an excuse when he suddenly felt hungry.

It's here!

Since the mutation, this was the first time Xiang Kun felt hungry before seeing blood. He did not bother to think of any excuses and replied, "I'm sorry I can't go because I have something on." Then he threw his phone aside and sat in front of his computer. He opened a document and recorded the time.

He wanted to see what kind of effect this hunger would have on him, and what other changes it would have as time passed.

He clearly remembered the entire process when he went to the market to buy chicken for the first two times he drank blood. However, he had a feeling that his body was acting on its own.

The second time he drank rabbit blood at home, he felt much better.

He wondered if the difference was only because it was his first time at the market, or because his need for blood was stronger at the market?

This was also a question that needed verification.

After making the record, Xiang Kun sat cross-legged on the bed and began to feel the changes in his body.

Generally speaking, people had a sense of hunger that started in their stomachs and started with the contractions after their stomachs were emptied.

However, the hunger Xiang Kun felt did not come from his abdomen or stomach. Instead, it seemed to come from the depths of his consciousness, from every organ and cell in his body.

He felt that his strength did not decrease too much. He was not like an ordinary person who would feel weak when he was hungry.

However, with the interference of his hunger, it was difficult for him to concentrate on doing anything.

Time passed by slowly. Xiang Kun started to feel hungry at 9: 08 pm. By 3 am, his hunger was getting stronger. Xiang Kun could no longer sit still.

Xiang Kun started to get up frequently. He walked to the cage of rabbits in the washroom a few times and forced himself to return. He also tried to do other things to divert his attention. However, his mind kept replaying the scene of killing rabbits and drinking their blood. He kept recalling the feeling of his body when he drank the blood last time.

Initially, Xiang Kun would take a video of himself every half an hour and recite a poem to confirm his condition.

After midnight, it was shortened to recording once every ten minutes. It was also to use this method to make himself do something to divert his attention.

There were a few times when Xiang Kun wanted to go out for a breather or run. However, he had already thought about it before. He could not go out in such a state to avoid doing anything rash when he could not control himself.

However, to Xiang Kun's surprise, when it was almost 5: 30 pm, the hunger and urge to drink blood suddenly lessened.

It seemed that after sunrise, the factor that suppressed his bodily functions would also suppress his thirst for blood.

Xiang Kun heaved a sigh of relief. While recording the changes in his body on the computer, he adjusted his breathing and continued to endure.

The situation during the day was much better, and there was no increase in the difficulty of endurance over time. However, after sunset, the hunger began to increase again.

At 7: 33 pm, Xiang Kun almost punched the wall. He gave up and quickly killed the rabbit that he had been keeping for almost a week. He suppressed the urge to drink and put the blood into the measuring cup that he had prepared beforehand.

There was a very clear line on the measuring cup. He divided four measuring cups. The first three contained 50ml, and the fourth contained only about 20ml.

After drinking the first 50ml, Xiang Kun could clearly feel that his hunger had not been satisfied. He still yearned for the rabbit blood.

However, he did not continue drinking immediately. Instead, he took out his phone and counted the time. One minute later, he drank the second 50ml cup. Then, he continued to count the time. Two minutes later, he drank the third cup.

After the third glass, Xiang Kun could clearly feel that the effects of the blood had decreased.

A strong sense of sleepiness hit him, but he forced himself to stay awake. As he cleaned up, he counted the time. Five minutes before he drank the third cup of rabbit blood, he picked up the fourth cup and drank it.

In fact, Xiang Kun could still feel his thirst for blood. However, the last 20ml did not help much.

Evidently, the fourth cup had lost its effectiveness.

That was because Xiang Kun had suspected that the rabbit blood would be less effective on him after it left the rabbit's body. Now it was confirmed.

The second cup after one minute was not much different from the first. The third cup's effectiveness decreased significantly.

From this, it could be deduced that the decrease in effect should start after the rabbit blood left the rabbit for 1-3 minutes.

After making the record, Xiang Kun did not lie down to sleep immediately. Instead, he sat on the bed and fought against his sleepiness.

He wanted to see how long he could resist this sleepiness after drinking blood.
