"What is going on in here?"
We all froze and looked over at my mom who did not look so pleased to see the fight happening.
"Ah, Mrs. Bright, welcome home. How was your day?"
I looked over at Christopher shocked in his calm composure as he addressed my mom.
"Don't welcome home me. Explain what is going on!"
"You see, uh..." Christopher stopped seeming to be stuck in making up an excuse.
"Mom don't worry about it. You know how guys are, especially brothers or somewhat siblings. They always end up fighting somehow."
I did my best to make my excuse sound real. I mean it was true. They were fighting like siblings do. It's just that, that "thing" is me.
She sighed angrily and pinched the bridge of her nose between her eyes.
"You're right. Boys will be boys. You boys are lucky I'm too tired to deal with this."
I heard as some of the guys let go of some air they were holding.
"Well I'm going up to bed. Samantha I'm guessing you're going to school tomorrow?"
"Yes I am. I feel much better now."
"Good."
She looked at the others and turned around.
"I'm off. Good night."
I nodded my head as she left. After I knew she was in her room I turned to the guys and glared at them.
"You guys are lucky. Don't push it though. You might not get another lucky chance like that again."
They just nodded their heads clearly disappointed in themselves in some way.
"I think we should all turn in for the night as well. It's been an interesting day."
"You've got that right," Drake said in his usual cocky voice.
I smile a bit feeling like I needed to lift the tension that was still ion the air.
"Well, I'll see you tomorrow," Drake said as he started walking off patting my head on the way. I could tell I blushed a little from the motion and quickly looked over at the guys to see their reactions.
Jonathan started heading back too locking eyes with me as he nodded his head while smiling. Sebastian was next as he purposely bumped into Alex as he walked by winking at me along the way. My eyes widened at his bold movement and then turned around to look at him as he walked away.
Alex came up to me and patted my shoulder as he walked by smiling. After locking eyes he then let go and followed after Sebastian leaving me with the brothers.
I didn't turn around for a while a bit scared too until Jake cleared his throat and walked up to me.
"You two seem to need to talk so I'll be on my way."
He continued off and waved as he did.
Then he was gone and I was left alone with Christopher.
I felt my heart get pulled a bit as I thought about how we were alone. I opened my mouth about to say something not really sure what when Christopher beat me to it.
"Sorry about before. I lost my temper there.'
That's losing his temper?
"I didn't mean to force like that. Can you ever forgive me?"
I turned around to face him.
He had a strange face on as if he were doing his best to hide things and act fine.
I sighed.
I really didn't want to make anything worse between me or the others. I liked the peace and quiet I was having before when they finally left me alone. But I also didn't want to hurt any of them anymore.
"It was none of my business in the first place and I forced something upon you that was personal. It would make sense if you didn't forgive me."
He sounded like Justin. His words were almost just like his from that one day before he died. How could I not forgive him now?
"I forgive you."
He looked at me shocked at my words like he wasn't expecting them.
"Really? But I was a jerk back there."
"Really. I forgive you. You said you lost your temper, right? Even if that weren't the case I'd still forgive you. No use in holding grudges."
His mouth opened a bit from the shock but he quickly closed it and smiled at me going back to his usual self.
"I'm glad there's someone here who can think straight, unlike some guys."
I laughed at his joke toward the others. Even though I knew he was mainly saying that to make light of a situation it still made me laugh.
"C'mon. Let's go up before the others get jealous."
I nodded my head and started heading up with Christopher.
For a first day back with the others it sure was hectic, but what was I to expect? I knew something like this would happen but the thing with Drew I didn't expect. Then again it was weird how there was no response from him and with how he is I should have expected something like that to happen.
Next thing I knew I was already at my door and Christopher was standing there with me looking like there was something he wanted to say or do.
"Is something wrong? Christopher?"
"There's really nothing between the two of you?"
I put my hand on his arm and smiled to reassure him.
"There really is nothing between us. He's just dumb and can't see what's really going on. Just ignore him."
He smiled back at me looking like he finally believed not just me but also himself.
"Alright. I believe you."
I slid my hand off his and then looked down the hall to where his room was. He saw where my line of sight was and started heading there.
"Night, Samantha."
"Night, Christopher."
Then just like that he went into his room and I went into mine. I fell down to my bed and sighed.
"it's been a very eventful day. I'm glad to finally be on my bed again."
I hugged my pillow and curled up into a ball soon to fall asleep.
