Textbook Speech

Austria, July 1st 1803

8:43 AM

Lukas and Noah just stood in the back of the crowd, waiting for Franz to start his speech, which was something very important to many of the soldiers there.

Franz usually didn't give any kind of speech on the day where the new soldiers joined the army, however, he had decided to do it this year.

There could be two reasons for that: he was either trying to pump them up for the imminent war that was about blow, or he was just doing because it was the year Lukas was joining... which was quite unlikely.

Lukas then sighed silently. 'Very well, let's listen to what he has to say,' he thought.

Franz then took a deep breath, before opening his eyes, still directed to the whole crowd. "Congratulations, every single one of you! You have been assigned to take part in one of the most powerful armies in the world," he announced.

Right after that, the whole crowd made some exciting noises, approving Franz's words.
