"You dare mock my Chen clan?"
"Yeah, I heard you the first time. No need to shout again."
No one in the entire city had ever mocked the Chen clan like this. Everyone glared at Long Chen angrily. If not for Chen Yan'er, they would have dismembered this bastard to pieces.
Chen Shan also didn't expect that Long Chen was so calm amidst provocation. He frowned.
"No one in your own family respects you, and the whole city knows about what you are. Aren't you embarrassed to be here in the Chen Clan?" Chen Shan responded, "Garbage should be in a bin, not in our class."
Long Chen again ignored and asked Chen Yan'er, "Heard what he said? Embarrassed to bring me here?"
Chen Yan'er didn't react.
"Are you calling me a waste? Are you powerful?" Long Chen looked at Chen Shan and smiled.
"In this entire hall, amongst our generation, Big brother Chen is the first person to attain peak Body Quenching stage. He is one of the leaders of the young generation of our Chen clan. Therefore, big brother Chen can be considered 'King' of this class."
The follower replied coldly to Long Chen, "so in this martial arts hall, you are the only one without any cultivation and hence a trash."
"Oh? I thought you were this close to becoming an immortal. So, it turned out you only peaked Body Quenching. How is it any better than trash?" Long Chen spoke disdainfully.
He then pointed to the follower, "Yo, don't you have any other words in your vocabulary other than 'trash this, the trash that'?"
The follower who was just about to call Long Chen 'trash' didn't speak anymore.
Chen Shan was never called waste in his entire life, not to mention being scolded by someone like Long Chen. He glared at Long Chen angrily.
"Enough with your stare. Do you think I am afraid of your glare?" Long Chen said softly, "Are you any stronger than the girl next to me?"
"Of course not. No one in our generation is stronger than big sister Chen Yan'er or big sister Chen Wan'er." Chen Shan frowned and replied. He clearly knew about his cultivation attainments.
"That's right, you're also a waste. You are clearly not the strongest in this room or in your clan. If you're really a bit strong, you should go and challenge the children of other aristocratic families. Yet, you are sitting in this class with little kids and calling yourself their King?. Aren't you embarrassed?"

"You are simply not a loser but a failure."
Chen Shan and others were stunned when they heard Long Chen. What he said was reasonable; in fact, everyone knew how Chen Shan cultivated. Yet, they only followed him given his status.
Chen Yan'er was speechless for a moment. When did this bastard learn to speak like this?
"You.. you.." Chen Shan didn't know how to answer. No one had ever spoken to him this way before. So finally, he took out his sword and ran towards Long Chen.
Chen Yan'er stopped Chen Shan. "Enough."
He vomited a mouthful of blood and fell to the ground.
Chen Yan'er sighed. She clearly knew Chen Shan's Dao heart was affected.
Long Chen stood up, patted his ass, and walked towards the exit. Suddenly he stopped when he heard a notification from the system.
'Host, Spirit Artefact with Fire essence found. Do you want the system to swallow the essence?'
"Go ahead." Long Chen waited.
'Ding, Item should be in host's hand.'
"You should start with that." Long Chen cursed.
He slowly walked towards Chen Shan and picked up the sword. With an expert's look, he appeared to be appreciating the sword.
The crowd was confused. What is this guy doing now? Is he planning to take away the sword? Is he not afraid of the consequences?
'Ding, Fire essence swallowed.'
To Long Chen, the sword looked the same. So he simply threw away the sword again and turned his back.
The girl on the podium looked at Long Chen's back. 'Everyone thinks this guy is a fool, but he clearly isn't one, looking at this performance and speech. Interesting!'
If Long Chen knew about her thoughts, he would have simply laughed. 'Girl, you overthink.'
"So, can I leave now? Everyone here hates me, so what's the point in keeping me here?" Long Chen asked the girl who was observing him.
"Follow me."

Long Chen was now inside a warehouse full of swords, spears and other weapons he had only seen in movies. There were close to a thousand items here. Unfortunately, looking at the quality of these items, it appears all of these were garbage.
"So why are we here in this dump yard?"
"You can select a weapon here. My father said this is compensation for what happened on our premises."
Long Chen understood that this girl was insulting him. However, he didn't care much, casually picked up the first item he saw and was about to leave.
'Ding, Spirit Artefact with Metal essence found. Do you want the system to swallow the essence?'
"System, where is it?"
'Ding, the host should hold the item in his hands.'
"System, are you kidding me? There are thousands of things here."
'Ding, your choice.'
He signed and cursed at the system in his heart. Then, looking at Chen Yan'er, he said sarcastically.
"Wow, so many treasures here. I really don't know what to pick. It might take some time."
"Up to you. Call me when you are done."
Long Chen was too tired to argue. So instead, holding a broken knife in his hand, he waited for the system to do something.
The next moment, he was surprised. A small vortex appeared next to him, and the knife was immediately swallowed in an instant. He next approached a spear, and the same thing happened again.
Long Chen didn't care anymore. He continued to pick up the items and started throwing them towards the vortex. In a matter of hours, the whole room was emptied.
'Ding, Metal essence swallowed.'
He could clearly see the black pearl had changed its colour from original black to greyish in his mind. Apart from that, 18 orbs of red and grey coloured lights were floating next to it.
"System, you there?"
A lazy voice sounded next, "The system is a little better now. Congrats, you have collected 2/5 essences. This system will reward you now."
Before Long Chen could ask, the 18 orbs of light entered his body; it turned into a warm current that roamed all over his insides. The warm draft slowly integrated into his organs and bones.
Long Chen felt slightly uncomfortable. The very next moment, he sensed an excruciating pain all over his body. It was like getting poked by thick needles. He started shouting.
"System, what the fuck is this?"
'Oh, young man. This is the process of building channels. It's only for a short time, but you will thank me later."
"Fuck you, damn system. Stop this." Long Chen screamed.
The system only sneered. Serves you right.
This didn't continue for long. As the pain receded, nine pathways appeared in his mind. Various connected parts of his body towards the upper part of his pubic region, where a small pearl-like substance materialised.
"System, what's all this?"
"Congrats, now you can be considered at the peak stages of Body Quenching. What you see are the channels and Dantain."
Due to the classes he had just attended, he knew a little about this. In this world, a person is born with channels where spiritual energy can be converted to Qi and stored in Dantain. Then, over time, they start to deteriorate.
However, he had no idea what stage he was in.
"System, I am confused now. Is this Body Quenching?"
"Host, you are now considered in the Body Quenching stage."
"Wasn't I already there before? I didn't feel much pain then."
"No. Although the cultivation technique given to you is normal, it can be regarded as a high-level technique in this backward world. Therefore, you have just started with refining your body first before converting the energy to Qi."
Long Chen was stunned. Apart from pain, he didn't do much when absorbing the orbs. Isn't this way too simple? Why do these cultivators act like they did something grand?

Long Chen felt a little better now. No more getting insulted by people every now and then. If he hears any person mocking him, of course, as long as he is a level lower than him, he would beat the shit out of these people and let them understand why roses are red.

The system disdained to respond when it heard his thoughts.
"System, this room is now cleaner than your brain." Long Chen commented.

Long Chen was suddenly woken up by the sound of the door crashing. Someone barged into his room and shouted at him.
"Long Chen, did you steal the artefacts to sell and squander the money?"
Long Chen was furious and looked at the person scolding him.
"Who stole what? What the fuck is wrong with you, bitch? Don't you see people are sleeping here?" Long Chen looked at Chen Yan'er coldly.
"You.. bastard, you still don't admit it. I clearly took you to our warehouse yesterday, and this morning, the whole room has been emptied." Chen Yan'er's face seethed with anger, "Speak, where are the artefacts?"
Chen Yan'er scolded angrily, but she was also confused. This morning, she went to the warehouse and saw that the whole place was cleared. However, when she left him yesterday, all the weapons were still there. Although she knew the items there was just rubbish, she merely wanted some justification to beat this bastard again.
A crowd slowly gathered, and Chen Guang emerged, "What's going on here?"

He then looked at Long Chen and invited, "I will get you a new treasure."
Long Chen snickered in his heart.
