Uzumaki Naruko and Uchiha Satsuki were weird. Not that anyone in this world had any right to talk about weirdness but they were weird for someone with outside knowledge like me.
I knew that their lives hadn't been the same as their canon counterparts but they still acted like them. Naruko had her mother, who was supposed to be dead, and yet she still tried to gather attention from anyone in anyway she could. And she also still fought like a brawler, no form to her taijutsu at all.
Satsuki I could understand a bit more. The Uchiha massacre in this world had been more… logical. The only ones who got killed were the active Shinobi, leaving the children and civilian portion of the clan alive, including the current head of the clan Uchiha Mikoto. This meant that the village council realized that having all of the Uchiha dead only weakened the village and should have enough left so that clan could come back properly.
Or maybe this was really, as in really, AU and Itachi just decided to kill all the active Shinobi for putting so much pressure on him.
Unlikely, but it could have happened.
"HUUUAH!" Oh yeah, those two are fighting. Their difference was clear to the eye. Naruko fought like a brawler, no true form to her attacks and very loud. Satsuki on the other hand moved seamlessly like she was dancing, moving out of the way of each go the blond's attacks and countering them silently.
Seeing them like this, knowing that they were technically the future saviors of this world, was a treat. Before long Satsuki finally decided that enough was enough and grabbed Naruko's arm, using it to slam the blonde girl to the ground and put her fist right before her forehead.
"Winner, Uchiha Satsuki." Iruka declared the obvious, much to the Jinchuuriki's displeasure as she punched the ground once and then got up and tried to leave with a pout on her face. Tried being the important word.
"Naruko, do the seal of conciliation." Iruka snapped at her, not looking pleased with the blond's unsportsmanlike attitude. In the end, the twin tailed girl did do the seal while muttering less than flattering things under her breath, which seemed to exasperate Iruka but it also looked like the man had given up on correcting her for today.
Satsuki on the other hand didn't seem to care about Naruko at all. As a matter of fact, she had been looking at me since her bout had ended. Now I would like to toot my own horn for once and say that is because she found me attractive, likely helped by my 'Stud Services' lure, but I knew that it was because she didn't get to fight me and was annoyed by it.
She and 'I' had fought once before and I had won that spar. After that we have never been partnered again. Guess the teachers were afraid that we might rekindle the feud between Uchiha and Senju clans. A stupid thought but well… I guess they were stupid.
The rest of the day had been boring, just some classes that were supposed to give out lessons to indoctrinate us into buying the ideologies the village was founded on. As expected from a military dictatorship.
Leaving the class was practically the best part of the day, sure having some eye candy around me was nice but the matter of fact was that I was a tier five in a class full of people whose highest tier was four. Talented genin and most chuunin were tier four and most academy students were tier three at best. Only the clan heirs, in other words non fodder characters, were tier four and even they were on the bottom of it with the exception of Satsuki.
"Daiki-san." Huh, who would… ahh that was surprising. Uchiha Mikoto, the current head of the Uchiha clan and the mother of Satsuki. She was a woman that I barely knew since our paths practically never crossed. The most amount of time we spent near each other had been during the funeral for the Uchiha clansmen that Itachi killed. Wonder how she feels about the village if Itachi did kill the clan on orders?
"Mikoto-sama." I nodded my head and referred to her respectively, because last Senju or not this was a clan head before me. Not to mention the head of a fellow founding clan.
"Please, you do not need to be so formal. Just Mikoto-san is enough." She said with a motherly smile, and I realized why fanfic writers tended to be so… passionate about this woman, she was beautiful.
"If that is how you wish, Mikoto-san." I smiled as well, barely paying any attention to the other Uchiha beside her who seemed to be getting ticked off the more I ignored her. How cute.
"In a few days you will graduate, are you excited?"
"More or less, I think I am just glad I won't have to deal with academy again." I said with a smirk, to which the Uchiha matriarch laughed softly at my joke.
"Yes, I can relate. I believe that had been the best part of graduating for me as well." She said, a spark of joy in her eyes as she likely remembered the good old days.
Before we were interrupted.
"Mikoto!" A redhead yelled as she waved at the Uchiha matriarch, dragging a twin tailed blond with her with a billion megawatt smile.
"Kushina." Mikoto's greeting on the other hand was far softer and quieter, a strained smile of what I can only assume to be fond exasperation at her friend.
"Mikoto, it's been quite a while! And is that little Satsuki?! Oh my gosh, she's grown so much!" The redheaded mother squealed with a wide smile as she hugged the Uchiha heiress who was clearly uncomfortable with such physical interaction.
"Hello, Kushina-san." she finally managed to get out after the Uzumaki matriarch put her down, trying to pretend that her face didn't have a tone similar to the hair of the woman who was just hugging her.
"And is that Daiki-kun? I don't think I've seen you since that birthday five years ago! You have grown so much as well!" And then the attention of Uzumaki Kushina was on me.
I regret nothing and everything.
