Satya

It's been five days since Laras has lived without Panji. The man didn't notice her at all. Even just a short message in the form of a warning to eat is not there. In a way, the message in which Panji asked Laras not to sleep too late was the last message from the man.

There is a feeling of longing that arises in the chest. Passionately asking to be released immediately. Actually, Laras could have contacted Panji first. Maybe ask how you are or ask when you will be home. However, Laras was afraid that Panji would even ask Laras an answer. Because to be honest, Laras wasn't ready to answer.

She spent five days thinking. Everywhere, in fact, she often gets reprimands for daydreaming too much. Her mind is only one, accept it or not.

"Don't call, will you?" Laras is still considering whether she should call Panji or not. She's been squeezing her cell phone ever since. But her finger never dared to dial Panji's number.

An idea popped up, but was interrupted when she heard a knock on his locked bedroom door.

"Why?" Laras asked Iwan who was standing behind the door. He was the one who knocked.

"There's Satya up ahead."

Laras thought. Why did Satya come here? Instead of getting lost in self-complicated questions, Laras rushed to the living room. Sure enough, Satya was there. Sit with the phone in hand as a focal point. It seemed that the man had just returned from work, as evidenced by the fact that his coat and tie were still attached to his body.

Laras sat down slowly, clearing her throat a little to get attention. "Uncle Satya?"

"Ah, hi? How are you?" Satya asked while turning his gaze towards Laras.

"Okay, Uncle. How about you?"

"I'm good, it would be even better if you and Panji got married quickly." Laras cash wrinkled her forehead.

"Uncle, what do you mean, huh?"

"It seems that Widia has already told you everything. About the central company which now has no leader."

Laras certainly remembers it. She even had time to spend the night to find out about the company owned by the Panji family. Even though what she gets is only the name and the business sector.

"Know, then?"

"You know why Panji refuses to lead the company there?"

Laras shook her head doubtfully. "Because I?" Laras pointed at herself.

"Sure. But apart from that, there's a big reason. You know what?" Laras shook her head again. "Why?"

"Because of me. I really want to lead the central company. I want to be the main heir of my family business. But because my father has a problem with me, he delegated the responsibility to Panji. That's why Panji is required to be able to do anything, especially regarding the company. Because he is the only hope of our family."

"Then, if Panji marries me, you can replace Panji to lead the company?"

"Of course. Because it was from the start, I should have taken the lead. But because I prefer to marry Widia rather than continue my education there. So, as you can see. Our family is not as harmonious as you know. Because from the beginning our marriage was only was wrong."

Laras is silent. She never thought that this one family depended on her so much. Laras' decision will likely be decisive. This of course made Laras more depressed. On the one hand, she wants to be free to decide. But on the other hand, if Laras refuses, of course there will be big consequences.

Lately, Laras knows why Panji really wants to marry her. Apart from being for reasons of love, men need love from someone who is sincere. Not people with family status but can't even just spend a little time.

"So, Laras, you are willing to marry Panji?" Satya asked again. The man seemed to want to confirm Laras' answer. So, he can rest easy because his dream can be achieved soon.

"Sorry in advance, Uncle. Panji himself gave Laras time to think about an answer for a week. Since he was out of town, it's been five days. That means, there are two days left. Panji's wife. Including the risk because I am pregnant with Randi's child, my ex."

Satya stared at Laras in silence. His gaze was kind of indescribable. But what Laras saw, there was a lot of hope draped there.

"I know, Laras. Before I decided to let Panji chase you, I found out all about you. Say I'm a stalker, but I'm doing this for Panji's sake."

Do it with the Panji.

Didn't Laras hear wrong?

"For the sake of Panji or for your own career?" Laras guessed.

While Satya smiled faintly. There was a tingling pain that he felt in his heart when Laras asked that. It seemed that this woman already knew how selfish she was.

"My career, if you want to know the honest answer." Satya casts his gaze on the window. Staring outside even though his mind was wandering somewhere.

"You know, I always blamed myself for the disappearance of Panji. Lost in the sense that I don't recognize him anymore. Even though Panji is my only child, the fruit of my marriage with Widia. But, because we were too ambitious about careers, we forgot about Panji Neither me nor Widia wants to give up on staying by Panji's side when one of us works. So, Panji grew up without parental love."

Satya's memories drift to the years before now. The years where he often argued with Widia about who would accompany Panji on weekends because both of them had very busy schedules. Those days were filled with many manipulative sentences from both Widia and himself.

"You just stay at home! You're a housewife, you have to take care of the children." Satya spoke in a high tone to Widia.

"I'm a career woman. I'm currently studying for my master's degree. You have the heart to see me graduate late just because I'm accompanying Panji? You should, in turn. Last Sunday it was me, tomorrow it had to be you!" Widia replied in a tone that was no less high.

"Last week you only accompanied Panji until eight o'clock, the rest Panji was alone again. Don't be selfish, Widia. You are a mother, you must give love to your children. Don't focus too much on your career or education, think about Panji too."

"Why me? Why not you too. Please, yes, Mas. If you don't want to accompany me, yes, that's fine. Just leave the Panji with his grandfather."

"You are!!" Satya pointed at Widia's face.

"What? If you don't agree, we'd better get a divorce."

Satya remembers everything. How did Panji watch his fights with Widia with teary eyes. Just like him now. Satya cried, in front of Laras, who was just quietly waiting for his future mother-in-law to come out of his cloudy daydream.
