My mom pulled up to the school me in the back, Zack in the passenger seat, and mom driving. Mom unbuckled her seat belt as I and Zack started to as well.
"Yay! New friends, new friends, new friends" Mom said she started to open the door. Zack gave a panicked look and quickly locked all the doors.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! What do you think you're doing" Zack asked Mom.
"I'm going to work. I'm gonna do some educating some administrating" Mom said trying to act cool and holding up peace signs. I sighed in embarrassment.
"Cool mom, we're the new kids which represents its own set of obstacles I don't think walking in with the vice-principal is the way to go," Zack said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes "just give us a 60-second head start so we at least have a chance deal?" Zack asked. Mom sighed looking down.
"You promise you'll give it a shot?" Mom asked.
"You know I can't promise that," Zack said as he and I started getting out of the car, but mom locked the doors. I rolled my eyes and groaned.
"Can we just go in?" I asked.
"I promise alright," Zack said. Mom unlocked the door. Zack and I started getting out "and this door locking thing so childish," Zack said to mom
"60 seconds start now, 60,59,58,57,56" Mom said counting down quickly. I and Zack quickly rushed into the school.
I went to my first class and we ended up having to go to an assembly. Since I didn't know anyone there I sat next to Zack.
"Okay everyone please take your seats" The man I'm guessing the principal said. All of a sudden a kid plopped down next to us startling both me and Zack.
"So you're the new kids?" The kid said with a smile.
"Um yeah, yeah," Zack said not giving much of an effort to be nice or give off the vibe that he wanted to talk to the kid. Unlike Zack, I actually want to at least try to make friends.
"Hi, my name is Alivia, and this is my twin brother Zack," I said sticking my hand out for him to shake. His smile got wider realizing I wanted to talk to him. He shook my hand and then caught sight of a blonde girl getting on the bleachers.
"Oh hi Taylor!" The kid said waving to the blonde. She looked over at the boy and waved.
"Hi Chump," She said. I gave the kid a questioning look.
"Did she just call you Chump?" Zack and I asked at the same time.
"Yes, she did! My real name is Champ, but she's never talked to me before so we're making progress....also that was cool" He said in amazement.
"What was?" Zack and I questioned in unison.
"That! How you said the same thing at the same time! Do you guys have twin telepathy? That would be so cool!" Champ said in excitement.
"No Champ we don't have twin telepathy well...maybe, we say the same things at the same time a lot, but I don't think that means we have twin telepathy we just think the same things" I answered.
"That's one part of telepathy, the thought transference where you think the same things," Champ said.
"Oh well then I guess maybe we do have twin telepathy," I said with a small laugh.
"That's so cool-" Champ was about to say more when the principal started speaking.
"Settle down. Good morning everyone, and I am so happy to introduce our new vice-principal, Miss Cooper. I hope you show her the same respect you show me" The principal said as he introduced my mom. Right after he said that someone in the audience made a fart sound. "Who did that? Who did that?" The principal said furiously. "Miss Cooper". My mom walked up to the microphone.
"Hi everyone, Now I know I speak for the entire administration when I say we are so excited about Friday's fall dance. We can't stop twerking about it" My mom said. I groaned closing my eyes. She did not just say that I thought.
"She's worse than the last one," Champ said.
"That's our mom" Zack and I said.
"The last one was fantastic!" Champ said trying to fix his mistake.
"I-im kidding I don't even know what twerking is. I hear it's very popular though" My mom said seeing that her joke was terrible.
"So you taking anyone to the dance?" Champ asked us, but Zack thought he was only talking to me.
"Um no," I said.
"Yeah, I was thinking about flying solo too...hey, we should go together," Champ said. Zack immediately looked towards Champ
"I know you're not asking my sister to go to the dance with you right now," Zack said going into full overprotective brother mode.
"Oh no don't get the wrong idea. I was asking both of you" Champ said.
"Both of us? Together?" We asked in confusion
"Oh well not like together 'together', dance together or anything but that could work. Ya know we get the crowd into it then split off with different girls or a guy in your case, Alivia. Well, unless you're into girls" Champ said.
"And as a final reminder just be safe and have fun!" My mom said before people started to get off the bleachers and head to their next classes.
"Take this, it has all my contact info, just tweet me or send me a text it has my home address and locker number so you know where to find me," Champ said handing a card to Zack and me.
"Okay thank you Champ it was nice to meet you," I said waving to him as he stepped off the bleachers.
"Also anyone caught dancing with their butt facing their partner will be sent home immediately! Immediately!" The principal said as everyone groaned.
"Hey Zack you don't always have to act like an overprotective older brother," I said. He always kind of saw me as someone he needed to protect which I'm happy about but sometimes it can be annoying
"But I am"
"You are not older than me," I said putting my hands on my hips.
"Yes I am, By 30 seconds," Zack said with a smirk.
"That doesn't count!" I playfully shouted.
"Hey I'm always gonna be overprotective cause your my sister and I love you," He said as he put his hand on my head and messed up my hair.
"Oh my goodness! Did you just say you love me! I have never heard such words come out of your mouth is it even possible" I said sarcastically.
"Oh shut up," He said with a light laugh.
