Kissing

Cathy POV.

Everyone could already tell that Richard was deliberately jacking up the price.

When I saw Danny's cheeks flush with anger, I suddenly felt pathetic forever being myself.

In all the time Danny and I had been together, he knew my mother was seriously ill and needed an operation bill, but never offered to help me.

Even when I was at my most wretched, all he did was cheat on me with Billie in the flat instead of worrying about me.

Now, he would rather spend an extra $1.8 million on a necklace and merely frown.

This shows that I am not even a match for a necklace in his mind.

Of course, instead of feeling sad or sorry, I was more than glad that I recognized him for what he really was and no longer had anything to do with him.

"Let's go."

Richard suddenly reached out and stopped me around the waist, leading me out of the auction venue.

It wasn't until I walked to the front of the hotel and the night breeze brushed my cheek that my thoughts returned to reality.

I tilted my head slightly and looked at the man next to me, my nominal husband.

Suddenly, I wanted to cry a little, because of the way he had taken sides with me.

In this cold and desperate world, no one had ever been so protective of me except my mother ...

The lights are slowly lighting up this busy city.

By now, I was sitting in the car, and it had been almost fifteen minutes since we left the hotel.

As the car drove through a junction, I couldn't help but peek at Richard once again.

This was the third time I had peeked at him.

The side of his face was exquisite and perfect, the corners of his lips pursed slightly, clearly showing off his hard jawline.

The expensive bespoke suit wrapped tightly around his body, and through the suit jacket and shirt, I could still feel the noble and mature masculine aura emanating from his body.

"You've peeked at me three times, are you in love with me?" He suddenly turned his head to look at me, his eyes staring straight at me.

The sudden lock of eyes made my breath catch.

It turned out that he'd noticed every peek I'd made, he just hadn't revealed it.

Damn, how alert he was!

At this point, like a voyeur caught red-handed, I was embarrassed and didn't know what to say, so I could only hang my head sheepishly.

"What? Feeling weak?" Richard clearly didn't want to make it easy for me to muddle through.

I took a deep breath and gathered the courage to look up and meet his eyes. "Yes, I'm being fainthearted," I said seriously.

The next second, Richard's muffled laughter filled the carriage.

"What are you laughing at? No laughing!" I tightened my brow and warned him harshly.

I swore there had never been a moment when I was as embarrassed as I was right now and wanted to run away from this man immediately.

But just as I finished speaking, Richard suddenly wrapped his arms tightly around my waist and pulled me into his arms, followed by a precise kiss on his lips ...

I was completely frozen, wide-eyed, and unsure of what to do but tugged tightly at his collar.

"Keep your eyes closed." Richard reminded me as he left my lips.

Instinctively, I tried to refuse him, but because he was so strong, confining me tightly in his arms, there was no way to break free.

His dominance didn't give me a chance to refuse at all, and I could only relax and do my best to cooperate with him.

But my eyes caught a glimpse of the driver still sitting in the front in the rearview mirror and I couldn't resist reminding him, "Richard ... there's someone else in front ..."

In such a private space, I didn't want to be kissing next to someone watching.

Richard paused for a second, reached out, and pressed a button next to him, and a flap rose up in front of him, turning the back compartment into a private space.

After completely blocking the driver's view, Richard forcefully deepened the kiss, his tongue wrapping around mine in a dominant yet gentle kiss that had me damned hooked.
