For dummies?

Alyssia sat down facing the sea as Alfred stood behind quietly. "That was very unexpected. Many things happened that was out of my initial plans and control. Before I knew it.. everything could have gone horribly wrong. Out of that mess, you appeared and offered me your loyalty. Even if it was for your own goal, you still made our time there so much easier so I will not bother to keep up any pretences with you since you seem smart enough to figure out some things for yourself if you had more information at your disposal. We are not zoan devil fruit users but a unique race with furry animal features, or in some cases like our males they tend to have more of a body that is shaped more like the animal that their race belongs to. I chose not to disclose this information because the world is not safe for my kind, there are many illegal slave dealings around the world and far too many people who would try capture us just to get a large sum of berries as a reward. I also intend to go undercover with my crew as part beast humans or zoan users to avoid their relentless pursuits so we cannot display our true special abilities unless we are desperate. I told you this secret because I wish to trust in you the moment you have joined my crew but also I do not wish to sleep with one eye open in my own ship to look out for the moment my own crew may have a change of heart and wish to collect some kind of reward."

She took a breathe and continued. "So…. in exchange for keeping your daughter safe and helping her get better I hope that you will work hard for not only your daughters sake but also do your best to protect my crew in your own way."

Alfred paused for a moment and then spoke in a hoarse voice. "Can I really do that though?"

The west blue is his home so he has gradually adapted to surviving and making a living for himself but when confronted with the nobility of a single island, he had no choice but to give up on his love which cost him everything and made him lose his confidence.

Even as he despaired over his lovers death and the news of his daughter, he had only barely got everything lined up to retrieve his daughter because of Alyssia's presence.

Alyssia frowned and then said. "Do not worry. Being weak isn't an issue but being stupid is. If you are lacking in some areas then work on it, if you are too old to become strong then you have the option of devil fruits or technology to assist you. If you are lacking in certain skills then maybe I can help you gain some extra knowledge to assist you. Even if you do have to fight on the seas or on land there will always be one of us close to you so you should be safe however it would be best if you learned some of the basics with the crew.

Alfred looked very serious. "If that is what you wish then I will do my best."

Not long after that, Tristan came out of the room with a downcast look. "I have checked over the patient and given her treatment."

Alyssia looked over and asked. "How is her condition?"

Tristan had a pained look on her face. "She has been starved, burned, whipped so her overall body condition is terrible. It will take a lot of time to make her healthy again. The worst wounds on her body are her wrists and legs that have had the tendons severed, whoever gave her medical treatment during that time did not properly close the wounds so it did not heal so well as it should of and even if it did it would be unknown if she would still be able to use her hands or feet again. After the body tried to heal itself after being wounded the tendons were not put back in the right place or even stitched back together so after the wound did heal she can no longer put any pressure on her hands or feet without feeling a large amount of pain."

Alyssia sighed and looked over to Alfred who had become pale, she turned to Tristan again. "Make sure she is comfortable and feels safe. Explain to her who we are and our intent to help her. Ask Nica or Archie to make her a wheelchair so that it is easier for her to move around and leave her room. After being locked up for so long she will need lots of sunlight."

The next couple of days, whether it was parkour, acrobatics, basic fighting form training, weight training, running, stretching and bending the body or additional exercises they were put through Alyssia's hell training.

In addition to all of that, after acquiring the light swordsmanship and martial arts from Medea's body which was nearby, Alyssia began to practice the beginner footwork up to the basic rank.

One thing that could pass as the flash step technique would probably either be this foot technique, captain Kuro's pussy foot technique or shave from the world government.

This martial arts relies on precision and agility instead of a persons individual strength.

Although it lacked some qualities that she wanted, it was enough to be used as preparation to use a technique like the governments special techniques but also it helped her gain a greater understanding about her flash step.

During the journey she focussed on improving her flash step thoroughly but also tried to integrate the light swordsman characteristics into her martial arts so that she could develop another move.

The main move of brook of the straw hats was to pass by the enemy without their notice and sheath his sword, during the short moment he has attacked and reappeared behind his opponent so Alyssia couldn't help but thing of another move that was similar.

Byakuya Kuchiki used a type of move with his flash step that him appear behind his opponent to land a deadly strike..

While practicing to improve her flash steps form so that she could easily slip past an opponent, she also tried to add additional kicks the moment she came to a stop as if aiming at the spine or neck of her opponent, although it was yet to be perfected she still needed to master the overall light steps and then include the use of electro to make it perfect.

Many trial and errors were taking place one after another before reviewing the techniques in her mind and practicing again.

A week had passed like this as the crew were busy and Alyssia was training like she was possessed.

Within the lounge Alfred was at a desk with a small notepad and was writing something down.

There was also someone else within the room laying back on some furniture with their eyes closed.

Suddenly those eyes opened and she sat up. "Did you get all of that?"

Alfred nodded and closed the notepad. "Do not worry. I wrote it all down. What do you intend to do with this?"

Alyssia smiled. "For now let's just make some small and short books that can be placed on the ship for anyone to learn. Hmmm… let's name the beginners version after each intended skill or profession that it talks about and then add 'for dummies'.

Alfred frowned and asked. "Don't you think that is a little insulting?"

Alyssia shrugged and replied. "These manuals are just at the beginner or introductory level so will be available to those wishing to learn about something they have no knowledge of."

As for why she named it that… perhaps nostalgia from her previous life.

She was tired of always having to review and remember every detail of every skill just so she could pass them on even if she had no intent on using them herself.

Standing with her eyes closed as she instructed them also looked a little weird so she began to come up with a solution now that she had an assistant.

The beginner grade or above skills in her possession that were complete after her visit to the previous island were available for her to read and say them aloud word for word while Alfred writes it down.

After they have been written small diagrams or images to demonstrate certain things would also be added to the book so it is more appealing but let's the person reading grasp the knowledge a little better.

An example of one book would be 'Navigation for dummies', 'Concealment for dummies' or 'Physics for dummies'.

As for its effects on the world, Alyssia did not really care if it could bring her any profits.

All she cared about was sharing this information with her crew members or just leaving the books within the bookshelf for those who live on board the ship.

As for the techniques or practices of the world… she had no intent on publishing a long and arduous book about such things.

Sometimes it was best to just keep things simple so that more versions can be released at a later date once her skills have all been maxed out and without any errors.
