Karate Island #17

The day passed as the jujitsu competition ended with two people getting through to the finals.

The rules were quite simple as contestants were eliminated after being knocked out of the ring or were knocked or thrown to the ground ten times.

The fifth day began and Ann waved to everyone in the crowd. "Welcome to day five, today we have an exciting show for you all! Today is the wrestling competition! Much like the karate and jujitsu rules, the winner must win by a ten second knockout, submission, pinning the opponent for three seconds or a ring out for ten seconds. The difference this time is the type of ring which allows more freedom to the fighters, to escape submission holds or pins a fighter can touch the ropes on the edge of the ring to be released. What do you think about this?"

The male announcer smiled as he spoke cheerfully. "We have four poles set up in each corner and ropes going around the ring in a square which will allow the fighters to bounce off them to allow a better run up for an attack or used to do springboard like attacks. The poles in the corner can be climbed and perform a special move from. A warning though, try not to get caught in the ropes or the corner because you will only be trapping yourself there. Now let us begin!"

Many people began to enter and the battles began to take place with many people winning by submissions or knockouts but some managed to turn the match around with their quick flexes as they turned a disadvantage situation into a three second pin.

One after another people were being eliminated and Carrot began to enter the stage and Alyssia watched with a slightly confused look on her face.

She believed that Carrot would have taken part in the karate tournament or something else but choosing something like wrestling was unlikely.

After a short quick exchange of punches, Carrot quickly gained the advantage but what surprised people most was what she did next.

She bounced off the ropes and jumped up onto the groggy opponents shoulders with her legs wrapped around his back then leaned back.

As she did so, her opponents body flipped over but she still did not release him as she quickly grabbed his legs and pinned him quickly resulting in her win.

Alyssia looked at her actions with a slightly confused look on her face. 'Hurricanrana into a pin? I never taught her that... must be done based on her instincts or she has been doing some secret training that I was unaware of.'

What she did not know was that during their downtime, Carrot would occasionally spar with Archie who was much larger than herself and practiced various wrestling and sumo based moves.

In order to avoid being grabbed she needed to be extra agile and flexible but most of all she needed to know how to pull him off balance with her own body weight so she began to develop some wrestling moves of her own.

The next rounds she ended her fights with similar moves but also added some other basic moves like body, leg and elbow drops from the corner and moves similar to a DDT or Stunner after a low kick.

In her last match as she quickly found herself flying through her matches, she was up against a fierce opponent who wore a mask similar to a luchador.

He had a lot of agility and nimble movements, displaying their airtime and acrobatic skills but just as the match was beginning to heat up, the opponent was knocked down and trying to climb back up.

Carrot had climbed up onto the corner and jumped down towards him spinning her body in the air, her heel came into contact with the opponent's face and she quickly crawled over to pin down his body.

After three seconds, she was declared the winner as she waved to the crowd with a large smile on her face.

Meanwhile Alyssia watched it all and thought to herself. 'She is holding back a bit still and just having fun by the look of things.. oh well. That is better for me.'

If the crowd and those involved underestimated Carrot then the winnings from the bets she had placed may be larger.

So long as her winnings were not any lower, she was not going to criticise Carrot for not being serious.
