Lured Out

There was movement on the MMA as everyone on board had readied themselves for combat and many kinds of changes took place on the ship itself.

There was a section on the lookout that had suddenly opened up and a large sniper that was on a connected to some mechanical parts that helped move and support it.

It was very compact as there were many parts that had folded over to allow it to fit in place where it had been stored but once it had been released, it was being set up perfectly to fit inside the lookout.

The end of the sniper was poking out of the lookout windows that had suddenly created an opening all the way around after a part of the lookout had split up near the top as the roof and walls were lifted higher.

The supports for the sniper were connected to the ground but had several levers in place to lock it in place or to allow for the sniper to be rotated around towards another section to allow quick changes of direction for shooting.

Val saw what was happening and saw that nobody was there to use it so she quickly understood her own role even if it was temporary.

The shield on her arm moved a little as it created a small slot behind the shield on her arm which she slotted the spear sword into temporarily so that it was still within her reach.

The technology in her body allowed her to step on air and arrive in the lookout within seconds and she quickly took aim as she gazed through the sniper scope.

Meanwhile back on the wrecked ship, Carrot continued to gaze towards the ships that were closing in all of a sudden. "Hmm.. this is not good."

There were a lot more numbers than what she had hoped to be up against and it would be troublesome to go against them all when there were still people to protect.

It had become very clear to even her that it was most likely a trap that was designed to lure out and target higher members of the White Storm.

If there was any spies inside of the White Storm then it was very likely that they would be able to know about the highest ranked people in the organisation and how problems were usually dealt with.

If there was a problem that had arisen and there were people of importance to the White Storm that were in danger or there was a mission that was of high importance then the higher ups would not be able to ignore it.

While it was unknown if outside forces had been able to learn everything they could about the higher ups, it was still possible for them to be able to plan ahead for such errors.

No matter how strong Alyssia may have been, it was impossible for her to not come out of her battle with Garp without some injuries no matter if she won or not.

No matter what the result may have been, it was a time where she was at her weakest and many others around her would be without her protection.

If her people were so busy trying to protect Alyssia who was still too tired and injured then it would be easier to deal with them and to get to Alyssia since they would be distracted during battle.

The people around Carrot had become more anxious and fearful so they became even more dependent on Carrot.

"Miss Carrot.. please save us.."

"Miss Carrot.."

Carrot rolled her eyes and said. "If you do not want to be a burden then protect yourselves and those around you."

It was not that she did not wish to protect them but it was so easy for them to get caught up in the battle and to become cannon fodder.

If she was too focussed on keeping each of them safe when they were making rash decisions that could get them killed then it would only make things worse and put more people in danger.

There was a weak looking man that was covered in injuries and blood who had suddenly come forward and dropped to hid knees. "Please.. please.. take me put of here. I will pay you."

He crawled over in a pathetic manner with tears coming from his eyes and snot coming from his nose. "Please… I am rich!"

There was a look of annoyance in the eyes of Carrot as she looked down towards him. "I.."

Just as she was about to decline, the man leapt forward and grabbed onto her clothes while begging harder. "Please.. please…"

The eyes of Carrot had suddenly turned to surprise once the man had proceeded to further grab onto her and wrapped his arms around her legs as he begged. "Hey.. get off!"

There was suddenly a strange feeling that came from her instincts that were warning her of incoming danger.

The grip of the man beneath her seemed to have been far beyond what the man should have been capable of and he would not let go. "Please… ugh.. uwaa."

There was a sudden chill that ran down the back of her neck and she picked on something so she acted out of instinct.

It was the long month of torture that Alyssia had put her through that had let her move all of a sudden even if she could not sense anyone nearby that could have been a threat to her or had ill intent towards her.

Her body leaned forward all of a sudden as she grabbed onto the man that was holding onto her legs before sending herself and him forward with a fast roll.
