Lightning Rod

The other functions of her cyborg enhancements began to activate one after another causing her to disappear from where she was.

The boosters on her feet and other functions began to aid her speed even further as she avoided the slashes coming at her.

Each slash and thrust was narrowly avoided at an amazing speed.

A little sweat poured down her cheek as she could feel the intense heat coming from the enemy's weapons that missed her. "That was close."

Her sword passed through a thin gap in an instant causing it to stab into the shoulder of the alien but her attack did not seem to travel that far into them. "Hm?"

She noticed that her sword had stopped so she figured that he was wearing some form of armor that was able to protect him from such a strong and sharp thrust.

She could feel the threat of him again so she backed off and disappeared again.

As she disappeared from her position, the lightsabers barely missed her again as they passed through an afterimage that had been left behind.

The exchange between them happened so fast that many were unable to keep up with it.

The swords of the two types of weapons being waved around kept coming from one location to the next as they both moved around still locked in combat.

The sword of Medea seemed to have been knocked out of her hands during the exchange or she had thrown it out.

It ended up passing by the alien and missing only to end up lodged in the side of one of the ships.

A smirk landed on the face of the alien. "Foolish move. What can you do without your weapon?"

He thought that the move done by Medea was the most foolish thing she could have done.

A swordswoman without a sword would usually be considered as less of a threat and few sword masters would ever consider the thought of throwing their sword or dropping it.

Their sword could be considered as something that should be with them all their life, they could never allow it to be anywhere but with them.

Medea and the four-armed alien continued to move around the established battlefield as they constantly clashed.

Medea was releasing lightning strikes toward him while he was constantly trying to hit her with his lightsabers.

There were a couple of times when he almost got her but her body split apart just at the right moment of impact causing her to avoid it in time.

Her body kept doing that each time as she gained a firmer grasp over her Logia Devil Fruit abilities and Observation Haki.

As she was put in more danger, her senses grew sharper and so did her responses.

She broke apart just at the moment before contact then all of her energy disappeared from the spot as it followed behind her next series of movements.

She appeared right in front of her enemy after materializing.

Her size was much smaller than theirs so she still liked quite small in comparison.

Her legs began to change shape suddenly as they struck toward the lower arms before locking them in place.

The same happened with the upper arms as she grabbed onto them with her arms. "Got you."

A smirk appeared on her face as the energy in her body began to reach its peak and something else took place further away.

Her discarded sword began to flash with the same light, and energy was released from it just like it had been released from her chest.

The two forces were drawn to each other as they tore through any obstruction. "Lightning Rod!"

That obstruction was the very person she had a hold of and the high electrical energy tore right through his body to the point that his protective armor seemed to be unable to protect him.

The four arms were waving around frantically trying to get loose and harm her but they soon went limp causing his lightsabers to drop. "GUUUAAAH!"

He died right there as most of his internal organs were fried and he began floating around in space when Medea finally released him.

She caught the four lightsabers before they went away and looked at them with a curious glow in her eyes. "These look quite formidable. I gotta keep one of them. Well... anyways I did tell you this was not going to be a sword fight."

She disappeared and reappeared retrieving her sword that had been lodged in the side of a ship then joined the battle to clean up the rest.

Meanwhile, inside of one of the ships, there was an invisible figure that was moving around causing mayhem among the crew.

That person was Ashwin who was making full use of his invisibility powers to make himself and any weapon he touched to be invisible.

Very few among the crew were able to detect anything until the moment that they were caught in a sudden blast or were hit by something.

One among those who were trying to deal with the aftermath of the sudden attack was one of the other higher-ups of the Camo Pirates.

He had a squid-like face with long tentacles hanging down his face like a long beard.

What was surprising was that he did not panic when he could not find Ashwin who was hiding and ambushing his crewmembers.

His gaze narrowed and a peculiar glow shone in his eyes. "Come help me."

The second that he asked for help, another alien appeared who looked more like an insect than anything else. "I got your back. Let's catch this intruder."

A fiendish light shone in his eyes as his mandibles snapped together a couple of times.

Both of them moved quickly as if they knew where Ashwin was located causing Ashwin to become startled. 'Is it their senses? Or is it a type of power like mine?'

There would always be races out there in the vast universe who had a wide variety of different powers and world power systems.

Not all races would use things like Haki but they had their way of being strong.

The glow in the eyes of the tentacle-faced alien seemed to give off a feeling similar to Observation Haki but it was not quite the same.

As he began moving toward Ashwin, it was like an invisible force was surrounding him and spreading out toward the surroundings only to make contact with several things Ashwin threw out in advance.

Those objects seemed to halt in place before their invisibility of them ran out causing them to be visible as they floated there.

They soon began to move again but they were returned toward the direction where Ashwin had been located.

Ashwin saw the change take place and he could feel it as he lost his connection to the objects. 'Damn!'

It was almost like some unknown power had wiped away the influence he had over it causing him to no longer be able to maintain the invisibility on them.

Perhaps that was a good thing since it would be troublesome for his invisible weapons to be used against him. 'Either they intended to remove my influence or it happened as a result of their power taking over control. Hmm... got to think. What type of power..*

As if a light had shone in his mind, a memory of Alyssia talking about random superpowers was remembered. 'What did she say it was? Something like a psychic power? So it is kind of similar to Haki but not the same.'

He did not know what the other alien could do so he continued to run away avoiding the attacks the best that he could as he utilized his Observation Haki beyond his current limits. 'This is so annoying... the attacks keep adjusting as I move.'

It was almost like his opponent could read his every move and was adjusting their attack pattern to it each time.
