Battle Of Swords 2

He sheathed all of his swords before taking a step back as he rubbed the spot where the sword of Clifford had been resting. "Clifford of the White Storm? I will remember your name."

Clifford sheathed his swords as he stepped back and then saluted. "I will remember your name too Roronoa Zoro. I hope that we can fight again when you reach your full potential."

Perona pouted upon seeing such an outcome. "He will not be out for a while so come in for some food and drink before you start fighting again."

She continued to nag at Zoro and Clifford before dragging them both inside while the two of them shared their insights into swordsmanship.

It could be said that both of them shared a strong devotion to swordsmanship so they were able to get close to that connection very quickly.

The battle with Mihawk soon took place after a little rest but that just showed the strong metabolism of those of the Mink Tribe.

Not only did they possess great stamina to let them fight for long periods but they could recover and regain their energy back very quickly if they were given enough food.

Clifford did not fight Zoro for very long and he was at an advantage in the fight even without the use of Electro so he did not struggle during the fight or use up a lot of his stamina too.

The short break was more than enough to guarantee that he would be at his peak condition once again and would allow him to fight again.

It was possible that he could have fought perfectly in his present state but he knew that swordsmen had their pride and he wanted to show proper respect to such swordsmen especially when it was the man known as the best when it came to the sword.

He had already heard from Alyssia about Mihawk and how she praised him for his accomplishments so he wanted to fight him even more.

He wanted the type of battle where they could fight without holding back and where there would be no excuses for why either of them would lose.

There would be no feelings of shame over something small like the winner using a handicap too.

Mihawk watched over his opponent analyzing him carefully. 'He is just like her in terms of appearance. He has somehow gained the power of the Sulong form... how troublesome. Although if he is anything like her then I doubt he would choose to use his Electro.

As for his body... although he has trained hard and reached such a state, I do feel that there is still quite a gap between him and her. It felt like she was holding herself back yet was a well-fortified weapon but not this one."

He may not have known it but he was very correct about his thoughts.

If there was a gap between Alyssia and Clifford then it would be the additional bonus stats she had gained from the system that made her surpass everyone in terms of what should be considered the peak of the physical body that it could reach.

Not only that but Alyssia had made use of a method that had been solely developed to suit her precise usage of Electro that had been used to temper her body even further.

It could be said that there was almost no weak spot on her entire body after constantly undergoing such an Electro body tempering method but Clifford did have such careful and precise control over his Electro.

Where there were tempered parts on the body of Alyssia, there were many parts that Clifford had been unable to make improvements to.

Even someone like Big Mom could get shaken up by a strong internal attacking technique that would focus on attacking the inside of the body rather than the tough exterior.

Mihawk may not have noticed what that small difference was but even if he did, he was a master of the sword and did not use such techniques.

He raised his sword over his head before bringing it down which resulted in a huge wind blade being formed.

It was his usual method of testing out the strength of someone before getting in close and it had even been used against Whitebeard during the Marineford War.

The huge air blade came flying toward Clifford at a frightening speed which showed the power and speed that was able to be used by Mihawk despite holding such a huge sword like Yoru.

The red eyes of Clifford narrowed as he stood his ground and then swung out both of his blades just as the huge wind blade reached him. "Hahaha! How fun!

He could feel the frightening power behind it but it did not seem to be impossible for him as his two swords met it.

The power of his body moved to guide the two swords with enough strength to divert the huge wind blade upward.

He disappeared a moment later then a figure appeared near where he vanished before stopping Yoru for a split second

Upon knowing that the attack would be missed, Mihawk stopped his attack and used his expert control over Yoru to adjust the attack.

If it was anyone else using such a huge sword like Yoru then perhaps it would have been very difficult to make such fast and smooth adjustments like that.

Having more swords was not always an advantage.

It required a lot more skill to be able to fully master the use of two swords at once and it could often give up a lot of body movements too while there were always several movements that could risk dropping a sword or causing the user's swords to clash.

If there was any advantage to be had for a single sword then it was that the control over a single blade could be fully utilized whether it was using a single hand or both hands to direct each movement.

Despite looking incredibly heavy and large, Yoru was swung around like it was very light and there seemed to be no major issues when it came to adjusting the course of an attack.

In most cases when someone used such a sword, they would be unable to pull back their attack and would have to finish up with that attack before taking back their sword to adjust for their next movement but that was not what was happening.

Such heavy attacks came with a lot of fluid transitions and changes while remaining very fast and precise.

Not only did the force that had been gathered during his initial attack not disperse when the trajectory was changed but it was made use of in the follow-up movements causing each sword move to keep building up more momentum.

Each attack could cause anyone taking them to begin to struggle the more that they tried to endure it.

Even as Clifford was dodging, parrying and blocking each of them, he could feel the strong force that travelled down his swords toward his hands.

If it was not for the Armament Haki being used to protect his sword then perhaps even his two famed swords may have been unable to handle such a constant onslaught.

It felt like his swords wanted to leave his hands but he could not lose his grip so he tightened his hands around the hilts even stronger as he kept moving around the surrounding terrain.

The surroundings started to change with each clash of swords and wind blades kept clashing or being diverted elsewhere.

Even the Humandrills living on the island were too fearful to watch on from the sidelines so they all fled in an attempt to keep their lives.
