Chapter 11 The Woman Who Fell in Love at First Sight (5)

Ella Adams spoke non-stop, and suddenly, as if recalling something, she looked at Isabel Smith and asked, "Senior Isabel, six years ago, why did you suddenly leave for the United States without saying goodbye?"

Percy Stanton, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly raised his head and looked at Isabel's face through the rearview mirror, his ears perked.

This was a question he wanted to know more than anyone else; why, six years ago, after she relentlessly pursued him, did she leave without a word?

Upon hearing this question, Isabel immediately thought of her world-shattering change, her gaze slightly fierce. However, it was just for a split second, and the next second, she put on a calm smile and said, "I just suddenly wanted to study abroad in the United States, so I went."

"-Screech-"

As soon as Isabel's words fell, Percy fiercely stepped on the gas pedal, the ground and tires rubbing, making a sharp, piercing sound.

Ella paused, looking at Percy.

Percy looked out the window with a heavy expression, speaking calmly, "We're here."

Ella turned her head, saw Starhaven University's entrance, immediately unbuckled her seatbelt, picked up her bag, pushed the car door open, and got out.

Standing outside the car, she bent down and spoke to Isabel first, "Senior Isabel, give me your mobile phone number, and I'll contact you when I have the time."

Isabel gave her mobile phone number, Ella noted it down, put away her phone, waved at Percy and Isabel inside the car, and said, "Percy, Senior Isabel, I'm going in first."

Isabel said, "Goodbye, Ella."

Percy nodded, his eyes relaxed, and even showed a touch of tenderness and affection as he looked at Ella, his voice deep, soft, and magnetic, "I'll come see you when I have the time."

Ella nodded with a bright smile and then turned and bounced towards Starhaven University.

Percy's affectionate tone when talking to Ella just now echoed in Isabel's ears, much like how one would speak to a beloved lover.

Little did Isabel know that Percy and Ella were, in fact, legitimate heirs of prominent families.

She would not have known that Percy was the largest shareholder of Thompson Empire Group, the future CEO, and Ella was his cousin, the sister of the once-popular singer "Myth" Tristan Adams.

Percy waited for Ella's figure to disappear at the entrance of the school before starting the car again.

Now, only Percy and Isabel were left in the car, the atmosphere somewhat silent.

Instead of directly driving Isabel home, Percy drove around Starhaven University and went to a pedestrian street behind it.

Percy parked the car in an open spot, turned off the engine, turned his head to look at Isabel, and said with a somewhat plain tone, "I'm going to the pedestrian street inside to buy something, come with me."

"...Okay," Isabel answered.

Because the pedestrian street behind Starhaven University was close to the school, it was full of restaurants, shops, and internet cafes.

By this time, the heavy rain had stopped, there were fewer people on the street, and some parts still had remnants of rainwater.

On the way, Percy walked slowly without intending to talk to Isabel, who silently followed him, occasionally looking around the street. Bellshire City now had changed a lot from six years ago when she left. She felt a sense of deja vu but could not remember what the street looked like back then.

Percy and Isabel walked silently to the end of the pedestrian street, where there was a pearl milk tea shop.

Percy led Isabel over, stood at the takeout window, and looked at the female worker inside.
