Chapter 26: Stop Playing Mind Games with Me (7)

Isabel instinctively raised her hand, wanting to stop Henry Maxwell, but a pleasant mobile phone ringtone interrupted the bizarre tension in the car.

Henry's hand stopped.

Isabel secretly breathed a sigh of relief, smiled apologetically at Henry, and said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Maxwell, I need to take this call."

She then turned around, faced the window, and pulled out her mobile phone from her bag.

The incoming call displayed an unfamiliar phone number.

Not many people knew Isabel's new number since she returned to the country, but she still answered the call unhurriedly to stall for time with Henry. Her voice was gentle and polite, "Hello, this is Isabel. May I ask who's calling?"

There was no response from the other end.

Isabel didn't hang up.

Henry, who was standing aside, seemed a bit impatient and asked, "Who is it?"

Before Isabel could answer Henry, a voice came through the phone, "It's me."
