Isabel Smith stared at Percy Stanton, unconsciously gripping the document bag in her hand.

Just before Percy approached Isabel, he noticed the document bag she was holding tightly. His pace halted, and he suddenly crouched down on the spot.

It was quiet inside the house. The two of them stared at each other, and neither of them spoke.

After an unknown amount of time, Percy cleared his throat. His usually cold voice carried a hint of hoarseness, "Isabel, listen to me..."

Percy's attempt to speak made Isabel snap back to her senses, and without thinking, she interrupted him, "Say what?"
