Chapter 196: Not Returning All Night

With a pounding heart, Qin Jie eyed Chen Enci, who was about to roll over and sleep. He gritted his teeth for two seconds, then carefully pulled her into his embrace.

His movements were so soft that the young girl wasn't woken up. She rested on his arm for a while, then nuzzled her head further into his chest. Feeling unsatisfied with the comfort level, her slender, soft arms looped around his waist, readjusting to a more comfortable position. Like a well-behaved kitten, she rubbed against his chest twice, then succumbed to a deep sleep.

Qin Jie thought he wouldn't be able to sleep well that night, but holding her brought him an unusual sense of calm. Before long, he had cast aside the unnecessary thoughts in his mind and fell back into drowsiness.

Qin Jie, a light sleeper, woke first to find Chen Enci still sound asleep in his arms.

The dreadful weather from the night before seemed like a fleeting bad dream, replaced by the clear blue skies typically found in comic books.
