I found myself grinning from ear to ear as the announcer declared Oki the victor of the game. From the corner of my eye, I noticed the emperor was shocked, to say the least.
It wasn’t overly obvious, but small details like his perked-up ears and rapt attention to the stage gave it away. Seeing a perfect opportunity to talk, I started.
“That is Oki. He’s one of our more belligerent generals, but by no means the most impressive. Although he does boast quite a bit of firepower, such fodder wouldn’t even make him break a sweat.”
“You say the other generals are more impressive?” The emperor asked.
“Indeed.”, I smugly replied. I then leaned back into my seat, relaxing myself.
In truth, I was nervous about Oki’s opponent. He had the ability to mimic his opponent’s skillset, but Oki was apparently too strong for him. If he were to go up against a crafty fighter like Nukeme, things would have gotten really bad real fast.
“I see.”, The emperor purred.
