Moth

Khas entered The Archives and shouted "Oy! Iris! Where is my forge!" After that, the attendant of the demon Khas recently freed came down looked him in the eyes, and shouted "Where it was always! The last floor of the basement!" then proceeded to run back upstairs. Khas showed Ygvi and the hero the way to a magic circle carved in a black stone slab on the floor. He then pushed the hero on it, let Ygvi follow him, and then went himself.

The three were in a dark, big room. On the opposite side of the room, there was a big forge with a fire burning black. Only then did the hero see the thousands of enchanted crystals on the walls producing light. Each produced more light than the summer sun! He stood in shock looking at the dark flame... It was the only flame stronger than The Caretaker's Hellfire! The Caretaker's Hellfire was able of burning someone's soul... this was able to erase their celestial body... It was...

"Voidflame! So my forge is still in tip-top condition! Good. Give me any equipment you trust me with." Said Khas exited. He was feeling the euphoria of finally creating and enhancing equipment!

Ygvi took off his armor and gave it to Khas, along with his blade. He then went to rest in the room adjacent to this one. The hero was hesitant but he gave his blade to Khas as well. Khas received them happily and took them apart. Ygvi's sword was based on magic so he just took the handle and threw it in the forge. He then started chanting. After two hours of that, the blade emerged from the voidflame in a new shape. Now instead of being a broken handle with a crystal to help focus magic, it was a bronze handle wrapped in rope with a gold cross-guard, carved with runes. Khas proceeded to repeat the process for all the equipment entrusted to him.

The next morning he finished the last piece of Ygvi's armor and called the two guests to take them. "Fine work as always! Oy, Khas, I wonder... what happened to those moths that were following you?" Khas choked on his coffee, cleaned the mess, then answered. "They bring light to my refuge. What? Do you miss them? As far as I can remember... there was one that you fancied. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to save all of them, and she was one of the victims." Said Khas, clearly shaking from grief. After a brief pause, he continued "I would like both of you to keep this secret. If anything was to happen to the rest of those spirits... I would have to break The Pact." The Hero was very offended. He tried to calm himself, but hate got the better of him. So he started shouting at Khas "You... YOU! You should be thankful My Gods let scum as you live! How dare you threaten us with tarnishing the sanctity of The Pact! You keep your life, and we gain our Peace! You are truly disgusting..."

Before he could continue, the demon queen showed up. "Khas, my lord, can you come with me for a moment? I require your assistance." Khas looked towards her and answered "Sure Kat! Give me a minute tho, this rascal needs attention." then turned towards the hero "Continue!" The hero was already reaching his limits, so he raised his sword and put all of his power into killing Khas. He tensed all his muscles and swung. Before his blade could reach Khas, he heard his teacher shouting "DON'T!" before all went black. In front of Khas now stood the body of a teenage boy, who got his ego inflated by the so-called gods. Khas turned toward Ygvi and ordered soullessly "Take his body, his equipment, luggage and get out." Ygvi was devastated. He was reminded why even the devils, who lost their minds and only wish for bloodshed, stay clear of him. He is the kind of person who shows no mercy towards enemies. 'It doesn't matter who you are. He wants loyal friends. Being his enemy is suicide... I'm sorry little knife'

"So, Kat what is it?" He started walking towards her cheerfully as if nothing happened. Kat was not surprised. He held her captive within his soul for tens of thousands of years. She knew best how empty it was. The two of them continued to talk as they climbed the stairs of the tower. "To be honest, I don't think I need to rule this city. Everything is perfect." Khas smiled and continued to walk with his hands behind his back. Eventually, they reached the surface and Khas finally spoke "In three years he will free himself. Then you will take lead. Let me show you the reason I protect this place."

Khas then took Kat to the crystal he likes to sit in. After an hour of climbing, they reach it and the two of them enter. There they sit on a black metal bench and the next thing Kat hears is "Who is this? Master, I thought we were a secret!" Khas laughed and stood up. "Introduce yourself! They are my... attendants? I don't know. I created them, first thing the moment I realized I could. They are all like that." Khas then left leaving no room for Kat to ask anything. So she started talking. She seemed to have fun chatting and didn't leave the crystal until it was nighttime.

She then found Khas waiting for her nearby, behind a tree. "So, do you understand your duty? If not, I will lay it out. Protect them. They have sacrificed so much to keep me sane. It is honestly worth praising. So do you agree, or would you like to return to hell?" Sad Khas without moving from where he was laying. Kat looked toward him scared and nodded. "I will protect them!" Khas then got up and grabbed Kat by the shoulder. "Come, those little bastards dried you up from mana. Go sleep. I have something to do."

He then teleported her in front of her living quarters and started humming, while going towards the elevator that will bring him to the surface. "Is there a need to leave already?" Asked Jade, who was hiding in the shadows. Ash appeared there too and said, "Why are you running away?"

"It already is starting. The end of my days is coming. To be haunted by faceless illusions... I hope those two will manage." Before walking past the illusion and making his way up. "Goodbye cruel world... It was nice living for this long. Eleven turns... Eleven different worlds, I saw their start and their end. It was too long... Please release me Death!"

The same voice Khas heard before appearing in Volafsfia spoke to him "I will do my best to guide you to the deepest Abyss within the void you created and seal you there for eternity."
