Death

By the time Khas woke up, he was already inside a dark cell in a dungeon. "Why did I agree to this..." said Khas to himself, only to be startled by someone responding "Because you are fearless."

Khas looked in the direction of the voice. He saw the silhouette of a tall woman. Blood red eyes were staring at him with disgust. "Your kind was disgusting since back then. I thought you wretches faced extinction." The woman's voice raised the pressure around Khas and the words pierced him... literally. While he was bleeding on the floor, the woman opened the cell door and entered. Khas could now see her. She was slender, build like a plank and she was wearing a red dress. The woman pointed a knife at Khas and proceeded to laugh hysterically "Why don't I enjoy my time! That princess brought a Reaper and I can finally take revenge. I will thoroughly break you!" She bent down to reach him and started to cut, hoping Khas would cry for mercy. Each cut got deeper and deeper until she finally cut Khas' neck clean off.

"Was it fun?" said Khas. The woman was startled and started looking around, screaming. "I DECAPITATED YOU! HOW. ARE. YOU. ALIVE!" She was crying and trembling. "Ok, you decapitated me. That. Was. The. First. Step." said Khas, each word putting pressure on the woman, who was forced to kneel. She tried screaming for help, but nobody heard her. "There are multiple seals blocking sounds here... you placed them, did you forget?" Said Khas, each word piercing the woman's flesh, leaving her hopeless and crying. After a while both Khas and the woman returned to their original positions, the woman falling down, from the shock. A guard walked down the corridor only to find the disturbing scene. "That's why they told you to not touch him. He is not a reaper. The people named him that, but he is much more. The likes of you could hope only to be ignored by an existence like him." said the guard keeping back his laughs while he unchained Khas. "Sorry for treating you like this. The plan was to let you sleep inside until you woke up, but that whore dragged you inside here." Said the guard bowing.

"Let's go then. She was punished and I am alive, so let's go. I should apologize for traumatizing her like that." said Khas as he was walking towards the exit. The guard shortly followed with a worried look on his face 'What have I gotten into?'. The two continued to walk along grand hallways, filled with great stone statues with the names of the strongest in history. "Ozymandias... that's a name I haven't heard in 12 or so turns... Tell me, soldier, why are these titans of stone placed here. And why do they all have a soul?" said Khas after seeing a statue of an old rival, long gone. The soldier looked at Khas looking for something. Khas was wearing simple clothes, hiding an Arcane Focus was impossible. Neither did he have any abnormalities in his body... "How can you tell? And why do you speak as if you lived longer than me?"

"Because he did. You are dismissed, The Mistress wants to talk to him." said the princess from behind them. The soldier was startled, but listened and quickly scrambled away. "Who are you? To give The Immortal Akashiya such hope?" said the princess looking at Khas, feeling a sense of awe combined with uncertainty. "You will find out when The Grandmaster wishes you to. Now take me to her... But first, I should get a new outfit." said Khas while he was waving his hands in the air. Soon a rift opened, engulfing Khas in dark flames. The princess looked in fear, recognizing the Voidflame. "You killed yourself? Why?!" started screaming and cursing the princess.

Khas was amused. Withing the Voidflame he rebuilt his body, making it just as monstrous as it was before. The blood was replaced by a dark, viscous liquid. His eyes were transforming, his sclera became black from his new blood, the iris began burning with Voidflame, giving it a weird glow filled with bloodlust, and his pupil became a bright, glowing shade of red. His skin became pale and he got taller. His clothes got replaced by his old cloaks and created a mask for himself. The mask was simple, made out of metal, engraved in such a way that it resembled a smiling mouth, full of sharp and crooked teeth.

"Don't declare me dead that easily!" shouted Khas to the princess. She looked at him and started laughing hysterically. Khas came closer and slapped her across the face "Collect yourself. It is not fitting of her daughter to go insane at such a frail age." The princess was starting to process what was happening. Tall, pale, masked, hollow... He was... He was... "Grandfather? What the fu..." she wanted to curse before being slapped by her mother. "You are alive then?" asked Jade, while holding back the tears. Khas laughed and grabbed her by the shoulders, faking a smile "As I NEVER was!"

...

The three of them were sitting around a table decorated with gold and gems. "So, how come you left?" asked the little princess waiting for a response. Khas smiled awkwardly and responded after thinking of a satisfactory answer... "Well, you see... I'm not a human, I am not a god, I am a failed experiment. I don't feel, or at least struggle to feel empathy. Still, I don't know your name?" said Khas trying to avoid the subject as much as possible. "Emily. Now continue. You are not leaving until you answer." said Emily with determination burning in her eyes. "Please! Anyone! I need a deus ex machina!" whispered Khas to himself with hope, only for a goddess to manifest next to him "Did ya call me?"
