We should meet in another life,
We should meet in the air.
Me and You
.
Composed of oceans, swarming bees stabbed and probed at Vera's insides as her stomach turned with pain, and dismembering easiness. Both emotions Vera were accustomed to and yet they revived with an altitude of power, forcing a foreignness of his touch to ignite fire.
Delicacy charades around the pair and it began to suffocate them inside the room, not until Vera had came to realization she was still in the Prince's arms making her shift around in nervousness. Everywhere his fingers laid it melted her skin into a symphony of love letters and frankly, prickly roses that adorned unforgiving thorns.
A symphonic lullaby that her tongue somehow knew the notes to, created a melody only her heart could play. The pit of her stomach floated above an acid that had risen to the throne of her esophagus, what's more to say than she wanted to barf. She swayed back and forth while her head felt to be spinning.
She hadn't registered a word he'd muttered, since he has taken her breath away so easily. Vera gazed with doe like eyes into his mouth that moved like parasails, with lips so pink and soft.
She drifted her inspection towards his beastly eyes, soon she became so transfixed by the pools of red in which; they prohibited her to do unholy acts she could never speak of.
The ones she performed in the dream realm with her stranger.
She searched for familiarity in his touch but somehow his tenderness didn't respond the way she had hoped; he didn't react the way she had prolonged.
Then what? She had to have been raised one thousand feet up from the ground while in his arms considering his gigantic height. She typically stood at a basic five feet on her own and this giant? Every guess she could've made would have been rejected. Possibly not even close.
Plus the other guy who she figured out was Hector weren't any shorter. He stood just directly under Alexander's nose, and his eyes didn't stray from her gaze. He kept his speculation on her like a hawk entirely, until Alexander gave him one glance and suddenly his eyes were diverted to the floor.
Hector ran his hands threw his wavy blonde hair that fell over his face as he looked down, in contrast to Alexander's dark brown jagged edge that splayed over his forehead. Basically, Hector was your modern golden Tarzan and looked like he belonged in a jungle.
With an ashy bronze skin tone to match.
Alexander looked to be the king of the jungle; or your modern day Hercules on... steroids.
Wiggling her way out of his grasp, Alexander doesn't seem to lessen his iron grip around Vera's waist but instead he doesn't release her until after she lets out a desperate squeal. His eyebrows arch down on her while simultaneously squeezing her waist tighter.
He wanted to hold on with a firm grasp in case she disappeared. Alexander could tell his little mate was fragile. His mind couldn't help but wonder spiraling questions such as; how did she get here? Why is her heart beat caressing me into a slumber? How could I protect this being and make her comfortable?
A pang in his heart sent shockwaves to his hand which nearly made him clench his fist on either of her sides, but everything in him demanded for him to disobey. He denied against it.
"I'm sorry." Vera apologies as soon as her feet hits the ground, "I shouldn't have came back here I- I've just never been in a castle before." She lies cooly while playing with her thumbs, it was a habit she did when she was on edge.
What she didn't know was the alpha knew she was lying, all because of that babbling school teacher talking about a diary. That crazed, Mrs. Hart.
Would it be wrong to think Alexander recognized this young girl? Maybe she were in a closed royal family? Or maybe she was a local maiden who worked in the kitchen...
Neither Alexander nor Hector said anything so she continues, "Look I shouldn't have intruded I'll leave now, just please don't tell on me. I'll get in trouble."
Startling her briefly, Vera almost nearly jumps out of her skin once Alexander's growl invades her ears, ringing so loud she could feel it in her chest. Like before only this time it sends shivers down Vera's spine for more than one reason. "No one is to discipline you," He snarls louder than before while fighting back his canines underneath his tight lips. Instantly he was frowning and glaring at his mate with those cold eyes.
In that moment something in Vera began to... grow - disperse? She couldn't describe this feeling but her mind ran blank and a blush began to coat her cheeks. It all made sense now.
The unexplainable attraction towards someone she hadn't met before. The intoxicating aroma that Vera wanted to soak in, even the bloody sensation that spread over her fingertips all the way to her nose. The freaking tingles, it all was coming together.
This man, belonged to her and couldn't belong to no one else. The Prince of BeckonStone. Prince Alexander Bane was her born other half and mate.
"No." Vera whispers, a smirk began to grow on Alexander face so quick, she couldn't do anything but gawk in disbelief.
The world revolves around him now, she felt Alexander's arm snake around her waist and reel her in, "No this can't be true.." She denies. She tried to pry his arms circling around her but to no prevail his grip grows tighter.
It made her sick and rigid.
And it made her flutter and dance on clouds of his red lips and smooth skin.
Hushing her with his hand being raised over her lips, Alexander looks at the girl tilting his head back out of curiosity. He didn't know how to feel about this. "But it is true, mate. And who are you to deny me of what's mine?" He mumbles this, leaving out the part he liked relishing her in up close.
Inside of her body these emotions were sprouting underneath his gaze. Every part he examined felt to be reaching out at him for the taking and holding. He exhales softly while his breath fanned her face but Vera didn't mind it.
The swimming admiration and love inside of Vera's stomach swirls. Subconsciously she feels herself falling into him.
The bottom of her feet is swaying, "They say a million men have fallen to their knees at the sound of your name, Alpha." She tastes his name rolling off her tongue for the first time and it instantly made him stiffen. "Do you believe them?" His ask is questionable but far from inquiry, he squints his eyes at her bold accusation.
The prince was no villain but nothing compared to a saint. If saints had guilty pleasures of killing with no remorse than maybe he was close, although some would beg to differ. "They say there's a savoring fire inside of you that could only be quenched, with heavy teeth fracturing the skin to be buried into bones." The Alpha steadies his gaze onto his mate whose shaking like a leaf in an autumn breeze. To him, she was spewing nonsense.
But the nonsense was his reality. He was the monster to be feared. He knew this. She knew this. This wasn't something vague nor new. He'd heard all of this previously before, only this time it stung coming from the mouth of this creature who shared the same compulsion as he did, "And your a tornado with pretty eyes and a heartbeat that'll stop if you don't—stop talking." The Prince says this with a whimsical voice that was believably agile.
He skimmed his eyes over Vera like he was true to his word. He couldn't help but to hold this deep unfathomable grace coursing threw him and he didn't even know it.
The color of wine is still swirling in his eyes. She stops rambling as The Prince slightly pushes her away, but still with his hands hovering around her back.
"You are to be here with me. Nonetheless..."Alpha starts with his voice waning as if he were talking to a child. "Stay here with my beta until I request for you. Understood?" Slowly Vera nods half listening. "What am I suppose to do until, you do?" She was mush in hands already, and they haven't even known each other long.
Removing his hands from her jittery self instantly the warmth she was so naive to, left her shell of a bode making her miss the heat altogether.
"Take a nap. Read." The prince demands, before leaving the two alone with his scent filtering the room.
Vera's eyes linger onto the door a little bit longer as he makes his exit.
She felt Hector shift from behind her and she turns around to see him grabbing a book from the top shelf and he hands it to her. As their fingertips graze Hector immediately closes his eyes at the mere contact, and begins to speak but debates against it.
So Vera awkwardly waltz over to the bed where she climbed in, and began to relax with the book pressed against her side.
What am I suppose to do now? What should I do? Vera thinks, ignoring Hector who seems to be clearing his throat. She peeks at him threw her eyelashes only to find him already staring at her. "Is he usually like that?" She couldn't help but ask, everything was moving so quickly — curiosity would be the death of her. Slowly but surely.
"Like what?" Vera rolls her eyes at this, the beta knew exactly what she was talking about. "So cunning and agile that its confusing." Frustration leaked from her tone, this only made Hector smile a little but he quickly pushes it back.
"On the contrary." Hector begins with his calloused fingers draping his fingers threw his chin hair. "He's everything but,"
"Mind telling me your posed denomination." The beta spat out surprisingly sharper than expected, abruptly smoothening out the hairs ok his brows out of distress. When Vera hadn't responded Beta Hector sighed aloud slapping his hand against the doorframe. "Your name!" viciously shouting. Vera leaped before immediately chirping, "Vera, Vera Lee."
Refraining from biting his lip back, he opens the door before panning his back to the raven haired child, muttering a "Perfect."is the last thing he says before scampering quickly outside of the musky room faster than anyone could say say the word, potato.
Widening her eyes. "Wait aren't you suppose to-" she tries to speak only for the thud of the door to echo loudly, and she could hear Hector's feet padding away deliberately.
All she could think about is what did she get herself into?
She loved the prince for so long, would she be betraying him or herself if she found him impulsively churlish and scary?
Whether she liked it at home with Andy and her foster siblings, she so desperately wanted to go back there.
Anywhere but here.
With all the thoughts probing in her head she slumps deeper into the mattress for her eyes to softly close and for sleep to claim her.
Even being overtaken by the realm, she registers the mysterious being is gone and nowhere to be found. She's surrounded by greenery and the trees that embraced her.
Where had he gone? It was silent.
Vera was alone and cold and...
Bare.
