The forgotten heroes

CHAPTER 1

"And that's the end of the story," Mom said.

"Why would it end like that? Why would people forget about the heroes who sacrificed their lives," I cried.

"Well, not all stories have a happy ending," mom reminds me, "but just know no matter what the heroes did the right thing."

"Is this story real or fake?" I asked.

"It's real. I know it sounds like a fairytale but there are magical creatures out there somewhere, villains too."

"Mom how…...do you know this all?"

"Let's just say that I was friends with one of them," mom whispered.

"Can I tell my friends this? Maybe they can help too? We can help all of us, then everyone will know that they aren't fairytales and that they are real," I said excitedly.

"NO!" mom's tone of voice turned cold, her eyes filled with fury. It was like she was a whole new person, a scary person. "Sorry," she apologized. "I don't want you to tell anybody about this. It's really dangerous when people know that all of these stories are real villains and start attacking and there will be no heroes to help. All the heroes are somewhere far away from this country."

"Well, mom I wanna be a hero," I said with the biggest smile on my face.

"Son, how do you think you can be a hero without powers? villains would easily take you down."

"Well in the story you did mention this school called hero academy." I remind her

"You wanna go to a hero school, but you're going to have to move, you could also get seriously hurt, do you know all the challenges you have to face?"

"Yes I know mom but I am willing to risk all of that I will fight for good I won't fail you I won't fail the world I will fight just like that guy in the story the one you were talking about how he risked everything his life I wanna be just like him and nothing is stopping me please mom let me go to that school I will do anything to get in that school," I begged

"Ok, but I won't let you attend that school until you can face all the challenges I have for you."

"Thank you mom, I promise I won't fail."

And that's how my story starts. A 16 years old boy with no powers and no way of defending himself became the number one hero. "Now go to sleep soon, tomorrow will be a long day."

"Long day, what do you mean tomorrow is Saturday?" I asked

"Well, tomorrow I am taking you to meet the principal of hero academy, and you're going to have to wake up early."

"Ok, but is it going to be the principal only?" I asked in an anxious voice I never really was that kind of person that likes to socialize with people I would always be alone in school with no friends and I liked that I would talk to this one cat that would always wait for me outside the school I would sneck cat food and before I enter the school I would leave the food for her and when I am done with school and have extra food I would give her some. "Please tell me it's only going to be the principal."

"I don't know but just know they won't hurt, judge, or bully you. Now go to sleep. You need all the rest. You will have to wake up early tomorrow."

"Goodnight mom," I said, closing my tired eyes.

"Goodnight," she whispered. The light of dawn seeped into my room. I rubbed my bleary eyes and walked to the window. There was a pearly glow in the sky. "Goodmorning," mom said, grinning, on her right was a girl that looked about 29. She had gorgeous long hair, vanilla hair color, bright red eyes. Next to the girl was a boy that looked about 16 years old with straight hair, natural blond hair, red eyes. I was pretty sure they were siblings. "So this is Emma but everyone calls her icy because that is her hero name she is one of the teachers of the hero academy. The one next to her is Cyrus. He is a student from hero academy in class A-1. The principal isn't here because he couldn't make it and so they will be the one that is going to be training you."

"Ok," I said nervously

"Um, Mrs, do we take him to the school training section?" Emma asked

"Sure if that's where the principal wants him to be."

"Ok Cyrus, call one of your friends to teleport here so that they can teleport us back."

"Ok sure." Cyrus grabbed his phone and called his friend about 10 minutes later his friend came. "She is here." She has triangular, lazy-looking onyx eyes with notably long lower eyelashes and rather small eyebrows. Her hair length is medium and is dark purple with an asymmetrical fringe. "Hurry up, I don't have all day," she complained. She started forming a black hole we all jumped in there and we teleported to a city. It didn't look heroic at all, it looked evil, dead bodies everywhere and buildings were crashed down. It was terrifying. "Oh, sorry I teleported us to the wrong place." this time she didn't form a black hole all she did was tell us to hold her hand and we appeared at this school we were in the middle of the hallway lots of teenage students walked past us when the bell rang, "here we are, new boy you will need to follow icy to your training section, Cyrus, your teacher was looking for you so you better go," she said in an unpleasant tone. Icy started walking towards this door when she opened it there was an ocean full of sharks on the left, fire on the right, and a little house in the middle, I was terrified.

"You don't need to be scared, you're not going to get eaten by sharks or get burned by the fire, instead you're going in the house. Sorry about Cyrus and Crystal, they are not the friendly type."

"Arnt all heroes friendly."

"They have their reason and now get in the house." I opened the house and when I did there was a glowing light even though I didn't want to go in the house because it didn't look as nice as I thought it would be I knew that was the only way I could get in the hero academy when I stepped in I was in a jungle I heard a voice similar to icy form above. "you are in the house of doom all you have to do is find a way to get out but before you get out you need to save someone trapped in there."

"Isn't this a little extreme?" I yelled in fear.

"Sero to get in this school you need to prove that you can face any challenge imagine fighting a villain you never know what their power is you don't know what their next move is but whatever it is you need to face it if you can't face a jungle with lots of wild animals then how do you think you will take down a villain."

"First of all, how do you know my name? your right I will prove to everyone that I can do this."

"Everyone knows your name because your mother told us to complete this training now so that you can move on." A tiger came out of nowhere. I wanted to run but I couldn't move at all, all I did was stand there. I had a feeling that the tiger could help so instead of running I started walking towards it, it was like it was talking to me I understood everything it said.

"Don't worry I won't hurt you. I wanna help you all you gotta do is follow me." I had no idea how it was talking to me and didn't know if I could trust it. Right before I was going to follow it a black panther came out of nowhere just like the tiger. I could understand it and I could hear Icy voices again.

"One of the animals is good you need to find out which one is good and which one is bad if you get it right the bad animal will despair if you get it wrong the good animal will stay you will just be in trouble your mother went threw this before she got the wrong animal but she still found out a way to save herself and the person that was trapped."

I wanted to follow the tiger but I felt this strong connection between me and the black panther so instead of following the tiger I followed the black panther but before I did I saw this glowing light surrounding the tiger then suddenly the tiger disappeared. "Good job you picked the right one now follow everything I do.'' The black panther ran through the bushes past weird-looking red trees and then it stopped right in front of this castle. "I can't help you anymore, you have to do the rest on your own." All I did was nod without being able to open my mouth for some reason. I didn't feel scared. I was honestly brave. I knew I could do it. The black panther stormed off and I walked towards the castle. The castle had spider webs in every corner, blood all over the place, and dead bodies on the ground. "You see the castle isn't friendly so you better be prepared for what's in the basement. I will give you some hints on the villain. The villain's power is invisibility. They can turn invisible whenever they want the villain so be careful because they can be anywhere."

"Ok, thanks but can you tell me what their weakness is so it will be easier."

"Use your powers," Icy said in a villainous voice.

"Huh? I don't have powers, I am just a normal boy trying to get into this school," I said nervously.

"Wrong.....didn't your mother tell you she was a hero, her powers were dark flame and her husband's powers are light flame."

"What? My mom told me that she was friends with one of you guys not that she had powers or was a hero and my dad died when I was like two years old."

"I might be wrong haha um just don't die," Icy said nervously

"Wait no I need more information. Icy doesn't leave," I yelled. Then I heard a boom from the basement. I was so confused and wasn't thinking so I went down the stair to the basement there was this one room not covered in blood not scary just golden a scream came out from that room I couldn't just stand there I have to do something the room was locked so I started to walk towards that place where many keys were at and there at the middle was a golden key I snatched it off from the wall and ran to the golden door the door opened and there was a girl She has fair skin with a light tint of blush to it and has golden blonde long hair which in length is around 70 feet, she also has light freckles, as well as large bright green eyes.

"Looks like you found her, Sero. Olivia is her name. You need to save her but watch out for the villain." I walked up to Olivia and helped her get up at first I thought she could walk by herself but she was in too much pain so instead, I carried her and walked out of the golden door room before I could shut the door someone with golden eyes a heart shape thing was glowing on his hands he had red hair and was wearing a school uniform covered in blood she was looking down with the creepiest smile I didn't know to do but I knew I need to get Olivia far away. So I ran to the top of the stairs and laid her there then ran down the stairs but the guy was invisible or with Olivia so I ran upstairs to check but he wasn't there. "His weakness is water. You should find a bucket of water on the 5th floor just in the middle of the hallway. I will be waiting here," Olivia said in a weak voice.

I-i thank you but I am not leaving you here he can come anytime." I picked up Olivia and started running to the 5th floor and just like she said a water bucket was right there but this time I was thinking of what could happen if I just walked up to it. So I used my left side trying to shoot fire because Icy might be right but no matter what nothing happened so I was just going to walk up to it.

"You know heroes don't always do missions alone. I might be In a lot of pain but I am pretty sure I can use my hair to move it."

"You can."

"Yes, why else would my hair be this long." Her hair started moving and was grabbing the bucket and right when the bucket moved sharp knives were aiming right where the bucket was. "Now you use fire to take us to the roof."

"But I don't have powers."

"Then what were you doing with your hands?" Olivia said nervously.

"I don't even know can't you use your hair."

"I can't, I am too weak, and using my hair won't work but what you did before might help just try again."

"Think of what your mission is. Is it to keep Olivia safe or just win. Think about what you want to be. Think about fire," Icy said in a worried voice. I closed my eyes and I started thinking about fire. At first, nothing happened. Then the room randomly started heating up so I opened my eyes and black flames were coming from my left hand and then the fire exploded or something and we were on the roof. And there was the same person whose weakness was water so I grabbed the bucket of water and threw it at the villain. My aim was just perfect and then the villain started melting and I was icy. "Yes, you passed. good job but you aren't in this school yet but you can stay with class A1 for now I will show you the dorm you will be staying in," Icy said excitedly

"Okay, thanks and can you explain please. I thought I was just a normal boy."

"I am sorry I can't say a thing, now can you take Olivia to her dorm. It's on the 4th-floor number 2 here is the key."

"I-l ok." I was so confused and had so many questions that icy probably won't be able to answer so when I get back home I am going to ask her about it but not make it suspicious because I don't want icy to get in trouble. finally, I made it to the fifth floor I took out the key from my jacket then unlocked the dorm there was a bunch of other girls there the first one that came up to me had black angel wings and a red halo, one side of her eyes were black and the other was red her hair was golden and was in braids.

"You must be the new student. I will take Olivia."

"Oh ok. Do you know where class A1 is?"

"Oh yeah of course I go to that class I will show you where it is at"

"Ok, thanks I will wait out here."

"Hey Stella, can you take Olivia to her room? I need to show the new boy where class A1 is at," she yelled. And there was that girl Stella who teleported icy, Cyrus, me here.

"Who is the new boy? Oh him." Stella said in a very cold voice. I don't know why but Stella scares me and I have a feeling she doesn't like me so all I did was wave but she gave me a disgusted face. Then left carrying Olivia.

"Sorry, she just doesn't trust people and thinks you're evil but trust me she is very nice. My name is Belle. What is your name?"

"Oh that's ok and my name is sero."

"Ok let's get you to A1." The whole time we were walking to class it was quiet so I decided to say something.

"So what are your powers?" I asked breaking the silence

"My powers…...they are dark angels I can turn anything dark like an entire room will be black even if it is sunny and every time I touch something that's light it kills it I can also shoot stuff from my hand and can move stuff without touching it as long as it is dark but that's all nothing special. What's your power?"

"I don't even know I always thought I was just a normal boy but ever since my mom told me about heroes and my training with icy and Olivia I think I have the power of fire."

"Hmm that power reminds me of the number 1 hero, he had the white flame but died during a mission trying to protect my family. He was my idol and I couldn't just leave him there even if I was only five years old. I still was brave and the villain outfit was light enough for me to burn it and since he was wearing the outfit I burned him and that was the end of the villain but my idol didn't survive ever since that day I thought it was my fault because the villain was after my powers but Olivia and Stella helped me forget about it and now I wanna be one of the greatest heroes out there."

"Wow, you are awesome."

"Thanks and we're here."

"You may take a seat." Said someone from behind me when I turned around to see who it was, the teacher wearing all black looking sleepy and was full of scars.

"I don't have a seat I am new," I whispered in a nervous voice

"I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to Belle. you stay here while I talk to the class," The teacher's tone was very angry, "you guys are gonna get a substitute teacher if you guys mess around I will expel you guys this school is for heroes, not for idiots so you better be good " a boy that seems medium height with green, thorn covered vines for hair, one set wrapped around his forehead a couple of times in the shape of a cross raised his hand and ask

"Who is going to be the substitute teacher?"

"It is Maddie, the pro hero well known as Mrs. Strength. She will be here soon. Mathew and Ivan don't even think about it. Now bye, see you guys soon." I and the teacher walked out of the classroom and silently walked to the other side where the boy dorms were. We walked up to the tried floor room 3A the teacher knocked on the door and slowly the door opened and there was a boy with medium-length sky blue hair past his eyes and blue eyes standing there.

"Is this the new boy I need to watch for a while"

"Yes and please don't let Cyrus touch him."

"Don't worry Cyrus left with Stella and Olivia to spy on some people that are kinda suspicious."

"Ok Sero this is, Aito he is going to be with you tell you get in this school or you go back home." The teacher left it was now me and Aito.

"Um what's his name and why is he so rude."

"Aeron, he has a really bad childhood that I am not allowed to talk about."

"Ok, what are we going to do?"

"You want to be a hero right?" Aito said grinning,

"Do you want to join Stella, Cyrus, icy"

"Ok sure. but how we don't know where they are?"

" Just follow me." Without thinking I followed him the hero city looked normal until I was with the others.

"What is he doing here?" Icy cried

"He is here to spy with us," Aito respond

"Wouldn't Aeron and Sero mom get mad because he isn't even in the hero school yet and this mission is dangerous," Cyrus whispered

"They won't find out and icy take Stella and you to missions all the time shouldn't you be learning in class and not here with icy," Aito said

"She only is taking us with her because we're the top students and we're just for backup she is the one that actually does the missions but everything will be back to normal when her team recovers also I think the new boy should come so he can see what heroes do and this mission isn't dangerous unless if we get caught by the red cross leader but peter the only one that can pass the leader will defend us," Stella says defending both Icy and Aito

"Ok fine but Sero stays behind Cyrus," Icy murmured. Icy started to make stairs so that we can go from roof to roof and finally we were there but had no other ways to get in their base Stella could've teleported us but these bases had a shield that keeps out any kind of powers everyone else tried to come up with a plan while I looked around and a boy leaning on the door he had red hair that fades down into an orange-colored hair that reaches his ears, half black and orange eyes he saw me staring and started walking up to me

"Are you with icy or Stella?" He asked.

"Y-yes....there over there," I hesitated

"Ok, I am Peter, part of the red cross. I heard that it was Icy spying day, so I waited here so that I could let her in, so can you tell her to come here."

"Oh ok," I said, "icy, Stella, Cyrus, Aito I need you guys now," I yelled but nothing happened. It was just silence then Stella ran to me giving me a tight hug.

"You got me so worried never to wander off like that and also icy is in trouble, same with Aito so let's go help them."

"I guess you are not doing the mission anymore," Peter guessed

"Yeah, now bye Peter, icy could get fired."

"So Peter, what kind of power does he have?" I asked

"That is not important right now but if you really wanna know his power is creation he really can do anything all he has to do is draw and he could draw on anything even the floor right when he draws it the thing comes to life but only if he wants so he can create a whole new world but the problem is that he has a limit 5% is how far he can go if he passes that limit he would be in pain he will only die if he passes 100% and creating a whole new universe limit is 10 billion percent."

"Peter is he a villain," I said in a worried voice

"No he isn't but he could be a traitor…..." Stella paused for a bit then continued, "peter has been my friend for 10 years he was always the one that made me smile he is the whole reason why I am alive you see I was always bullied because I looked ugly but he didn't care how I looked he was my first friend we went to the same elementary school but we got separated but peter heart is whole of gold I won't believe that he is the traitor."

"Ugly? you're not ugly you're beautiful the bullies were just jealous."

"You... think... So"

"No, I know that you're beautiful. '' We made it back to the school. I could hear one of the teachers yelling at Aito and the principal yelling at icy and Olivia was running towards us with a confused look on her face.

"What is happening? Why do Aeron and the principal sound so mad." Olivia whispered

"Well Sero and Aito went on a mission with us," Stella whispered back

"Didn't you have long hair before?" I asked in confusion

"Oh yeah I do but that's just my power. With my power I can grow hair, my hair can heal and grab stuff from far away. It's pretty useless" Olivia said, smiling, her smile was so beautiful it could light up the whole world.

"Your power can be useful. Imagine a building was set on fire, you could use your hair and grab all the people in the building."

"Yeah but that's the only thing I could do but don't worry I will learn how to do a lot more tricks and get better." She said confidently.

"Sero I think you should head to the dorms but go to the girl dorms instead it's much safer there the boys are kinda crazy," Stella said in a nervous tone

"Yes, and I will come with you." Olivia's tone of voice sounds excited but nervous at the same time.

"So why did you want to come to this school?" Olivia asked, Before I could say anything the boy who could turn invisible came out of nowhere and looked at me like he was gonna kill me. His eyes weren't golden anymore. It was red and it looked like the heart-shaped thing on his hand disappeared, "oh hey Jacob are you ok you seem weird." Olivia said nervously

"Olivia the teacher needs you so I am gonna be the one taking the boy," He said in a creepy tone

"Are you sure that you are gonna take him to the dorm and not kill him?"

"Yes, I am sure." Olivia walked away and I followed the boy we made it to the boys' dorm, the boys' dorm was different from the girls it was messy nothing was organized everything was on the floor then this boy approached us he was a slender young man with unruly, yellowish-colored hair spiked at the ends, narrow blue eyes, and a fair complexion, "Sero this is Edward he is a friend of Aito, Edward this is Sero his mother is a good friend with icy and the principal."

"It's nice to meet you Sero, I am guessing you are staying here just know that the boys here are very loud and some are rude."

"I will show him around the dorm so he doesn't get lost." Jacob showed me my room then he showed me the other rooms and which rooms to not enter after the tour we went to the living room and this time it was clean the boys were just talking it didn't seem that bad and Cyrus was there, then a boy with tan skin and narrow jade eyes, middle length honey brown hair approached us.

"Hello, you must be Sero my name is Reiji I am here to be a hero who protects and save people and make sure that they feel safe I hope we can be friends" Reiji seemed nice but I had this weird feeling around him, a few weeks has passed and I have been training sometimes I had to hold huge stuff or rescue someone but I mostly just had to fight, Stella has gotten nicer Olivia seemed to be doing fine Aito was suspended for 2 weeks and icy didn't lose her job Jacob was very quiet but at least he has gotten nicer Reiji was actually a nice person I have stayed in the boys' dorm but what I was worried about most was that Cyrus hasn't returned ever since he visited his mom but other than that everything was fine.

"Sero the principal just wanted you to go to his office after school," Aeron said in an excited tone.

"I will Mr. Aeron," I had this feeling that I was in trouble but I also had this feeling that something good was going to happen after school I went to the principal office in the office there was icy, Aeron, my mom, and the principal, I haven't seen my mom in a while and without thinking I ran up to her crying and I hugged her she hugged me back and had the biggest smile on her face I haven't seen my mom this happy in a while and seeing her smile made me smile. "Mom I missed you so much," I said

"I missed you too sorry I haven't visited but first we need to show you something"

"Sero you know how you wanted to get in this school but you have to pass these tests first well you got A+ on all of them so know you can join this school and Aeron is gonna be your teacher" icy cried, all I could do was stand there I somehow passed and didn't even use a single power of mine.

"You're serious, I made it to this school," I said, grabbing my test score and she was right. I did get an A on every single test.

"I am serious you made it but you are gonna have to learn how to use your powers."

"I have a question: how did I get my powers?" I asked, "I always thought I was a normal boy with no powers."

"Your mom can answer that question but for now go with Stella and get all your stuff from your house so that you don't have to wear the school clothes anymore." Aeron cried, everyone left the principal office and it was just me and my mom

"Congrats son I am so proud of you but you need to know something", my mom paused for a minute then couintned "remember when I told you about that story and how that powerless boy became the number 1 hero and that I am friends with one of the heroes well I was not just a friend I was a hero I could control the darkness and fire and that powerless boy is your dad he was born powerless but as time past he found out that he did have powers but those powers where so dangerous that he wasn't able to use them but one day this girl and her family was in trouble and he was the only hero nearby he used his powers but his powers killed him even though that girl helped him I am pretty sure her name was belle he still died and I didn't want the same to happen to you so I lied to you and took you to the human world but at the end you made it to this school and is gonna be a hero" at first I was mad and wanted for her keeping this a secret but I understand why she kept it a secret, she is right at the end I made it to this school and is gonna be a hero

"It's ok mom I understand," I whispered then walked away, "hey Stella I am ready to go back home and get my stuff," I said eagerly

"Isn't your mom coming"

"Yes but not with us"

"Ok then let's go" I grabbed Stella hand and she teleported me back home after 10 minutes she came back "let's go now we don't want to be late"

"Wait, can you teleport me to my old school," I asked

"Sure," Stella replied, Stella hid behind a tree while I went to the bush where the cat hid

"Hey kitty it's me Sero, I am here to give you these cat food and water. I am sorry but I have to leave you. bye," I felt bad leaving the cat but I couldn't bring it with me. The hero's world was too dangerous for it.

"We can go know"

"Ok but there is a cat following you and it looks really sad"

"Oh kitty didn't I say I have to leave I am sorry but the hero world will be too dangerous for you" tears started running down my cheeks and Stella teleported me away kitty has no home her owner passed away a long time ago and my mom didn't like cats but that didn't stop me from loving her and know I am leaving kitty even though I made a promise that I will never leave her, "so what classes am I going to?" I asked Stella, trying to distract myself from the sad face the cat made.

"You only got 2 classes here. It is different from your other school. We don't have 8 classes but here is your class A-1." The class was weird-looking. What I mean by weird is that everyone was not listening and were all over the place. Areon that one scary teacher was trying to calm them down but they just got a lot crazier, "everyone sits in your seats," Stella yelled, everyone calmed down and Stella sat in her seat.

"Aren't you gonna sit down." areon said in an unpleasant tone his eyes also started glowing red, I have already gotten used to him having a rude attitude so now I am not scared of him Areon power is laser the power seems weak but the way he uses it is awesome he is top 6 pro hero, a girl named Madalynn is his friend her power is something that has to do with sleeping if this girl's eyes turn purple and you are looking at her straight in the eye then she will make you fall asleep she is the top 11 pro hero. icy is his friend too and she is the top 7 pro heroes, "you guys already know Sero but he is our new student please be nice to him and next time listen to me or else," Areon can be nice for a minute but he always has that rude side.
