Injecting the Plot

As soon as Raymond clicked the word "Inject," information surged into his mind. The button had triggered the influx of the plot, revealing the destined incidents he was meant to face. Despite the torrent of data, Raymond remained calm, sitting on his bed with an expression of serene focus.

It felt like listening to music, colors dancing behind his closed eyelids. The vibrant images settled into his memory, making him aware of the future's unfolding events. He saw the myriad of moments leading up to the Awakening Ceremony and the year of training that followed, both mundane and significant.

The new knowledge ranged from simple tasks to heartfelt moments, and from minor issues to major political conflicts that would test him. As the flood of information ceased, Raymond sighed deeply.

"What kind of life is this? Out of ten moments, only three are happy, and the rest are problems. Is this what the Dragon King calls challenges?" he mused, a wry smile tugging at his lips. He released the tension in his body, letting himself fall back onto the bed.

"This kind of life... should I say I will enjoy it? I don't know what kind of life I wanted, but these memories and the will of the real Dragon King in his youth still resonate within me."

Determination flickered in his eyes. "I want to be the greatest of them all. My heart shouts it, and I can't deny it. It might seem like an absurd goal, but deep down, it's what I truly desire."

Raymond wasn't a practical person; he was still a child, filled with fantasies about the future. Deep down, he knew what he truly wanted, and it was undeniable.

"This is making me excited," he whispered to himself. "What could my life in this world be like with this system?"

His eyes sparked once more. "Before these doom days come to me one by one, I will survive them all."

Mission #2 if Chapter One: Enjoy your youth with your friends.

"Ah... What is this? What is this supposed to mean? I have friends, but why should it be a mission for me?" Raymond muttered, confusion etched on his face. "Oh... That's right. Maybe after our childhood, there will be a few cracks that damage our relationship," he guessed.

Despite the unsettling thoughts, Raymond allowed himself to entertain these negative possibilities. Knowing his life would be filled with challenges, he reasoned that preparing for the worst was essential. Even though he didn't know what the future held beyond five years, he could speculate based on the fiction tales he'd absorbed.

"If it's just about doom days, at least I had plenty of harsh endings back on Earth," he mused. While he aimed to stay positive, he recognized the importance of negativity in shaping his resilience for this new life.

Lost in thought, Raymond was jolted by a sudden, excruciating pain that felt like a needle piercing his brain. His nerves twitched, and he clenched his jaw to stifle a shout. Despite the agony, he knew this pain had a purpose.

...

Raymond lost consciousness, lying peacefully on his bed for the entire day.

The next morning felt like a hangover. His head was heavy, throbbing with pain as if he had experienced brain trauma. Despite the discomfort, he managed to sit up.

"Just what happened to me...?" Raymond pondered, glancing around his room.

Everything seemed unchanged, yet the sudden pain suggested otherwise. There had to be some internal shift, even if his surroundings remained the same.

He sighed and opened the window, letting in the morning light. He had indeed slept through the entire day.

Closing his eyes, he tried to recall the events of the previous day. Vague memories, foreign and lingering, floated in his mind.

"Right... I injected the plot. Was this all of it?" he wondered.

Although he remembered the injection, he didn't realize that the memories and emotions from the plot had been deeply embedded within him. He carried on as if everything was normal, his mind adapting to the new influx of experiences. The will of the Dragon King had fully merged with him, transforming his perspective.

Questions about living a normal life no longer plagued him. Now, a sense of ambition and greediness took root. The pain he endured had been his real self rejecting the will and emotions of the former Dragon King, but now, they were one and the same.

Raymond's weak will brought an end to the suppression with an hour of intense mental pain. He endured it, though his mental fortitude was still akin to that of a regular human who hadn't awakened, leaving him vulnerable to such agony.

Taking in a deep breath of fresh air, Raymond relished the cool breeze tingling his nostrils. Life in the rural area was peaceful and magnificent, a stark contrast to the turmoil he had just experienced.

"Hey, Raymond! Have you recovered yet? Come on, let's play at the small hill!" A child's voice broke through, belonging to Arthur, one of Raymond's childhood friends.

Raymond smiled warmly and waved back. "Thanks for the invite, Arthur, but I'm not feeling up to it today. Maybe tomorrow," he replied gently as Arthur nodded understandingly and waved back before running off.

Watching his friend disappear, Raymond couldn't believe how easily those words had left his mouth. It was a sign that the will of the real Dragon King had indeed merged with his own.

"Well, it isn't a bad thing," Raymond mumbled to himself, contemplating his situation. "At least I don't feel guilty since I don't feel that I robbed this life from its real owner."

With that thought in mind, Raymond left the window and headed towards the door of his room. He longed to reconnect with his family, to feel the warmth of their presence once again. Even if it was just a small story from Earth, disguised as a dream, it was a chance for him to relive moments of familial love and comfort.
