Ch. 2

A year has passed by in the blink of an eye. I've been busy with a lot of part-time work in the evening till midnight, and job-hunting in the morning.

Sometimes, I spend some of my free time with Hyun as well, my only friend after my parents passed away.

Sometimes, I have a breakdown as well, but good things, Hyun is always there a lot of time. And I feel grateful to him.

Today, I was planning to treat Hyun with some drinks and meat at the barbecue shop. We are at my place, getting ready after I take a bath from job-hunting.

Ding.. Dong..

The doorbell rang.

Hyun looking at me and asking if I already have a plan with someone else and forget about it. I shook my head and told him that I didn't. Since I don't have anyone else that is close to me except him.

"Yes. Wait a second, please".

I opened the front door. There is standing a tall and young man, who looks like he is in his thirties, in a black suit and a brown case file.

"Yes? Can I help you?".

"Excuse me. Is this Mr. Haru Hayama's House?".

"Ah, yes. Please, come in".

'Uwah. How tall is he? I think he's taller than Hyun'.

I opened my door wide, and let him in. He smiled at me and followed me to sit on the dining table.

"So. What business you have with me till you come here by yourself, err, Mister..".

Me, Hyun and him, sitting on the chair across the table. Hyun looked at me with a confused look, but I ignored him.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Haru Hayama. I am Len Akage, a Lawyer who was working together with your deceased Father".

I was startled for a bit after hearing what he said.

"Uhh.. So.. You are.. My dad's friend?". He nodded his head.

"Umm.. So.. What business do you have? With me?".

'I don't think I ever saw him at the funeral last year'.

"First, let me say sorry that I can't come to the funeral day. I was busy overseas and couldn't attend the event". He bowed his head in front of me. I asked him to lift his head, and said it was okay.

"Secondly, I am here, as your dad's friend, including his lawyer, to pass you his messages and a few more stuff".

I was stunned. This whole time, no lawyer ever comes to me, even though I know that dad has a lot of lawyer friends.

"And thirdly, I need you to sign a few of file's. And your friend can be the witness. I brought two copies of the files, one for you, and one is for me, the Lawyer".

Hyun stand up from his seat, and make a three cup of a coffee, and put it out on the table in front of us.

He took out a piece of paper, and hand it out to me. I took it and read the content. It was my dad wish and legacy.

'For My son, Haru. I'm sorry if one day, i need to leave you all alone by yourself suddenly. I regrets that i can't spend the rest of my life, watching you grow old and maybe hold my own Grandchild'.

My eyes started to feel hot.

'I'm sorry too, if one day, i took your mom with me and leaving you by yourself. I Love you so much, My child. We Love you so much that we are scared that you'll cry like a babies by yourself after we're gone'.

Tears start to building up on the corner of my eyes.

'I'm sorry too, My child, if this piece of paper, came late into your life after we we're gone. Hope you will forgive us for this, haha'.

Oh dad, you are really love to jokes around. I wiped my eyes.

'I- no, We hope that Hyun will be there with you, since you never bring any friend home's except Hyun. Go make a lot of friend, Son!'.

I laughed. Hyun looking at me confused and asking me why am i laughing.

"Ah- No. It just, you know my dad, loves to jokes whenever he can". I just shrugged my shoulders.

'My Son. Our Shining Jewel that came to our life. I thank the God when you we're born and making our life shining like a stars at night. I leave you, all of my will, and my last message'.

'Remember every sentence written below. Don't forget with what i am about to say, My Son!'.

' 1. When you are Arrived, There's an Isolated Small Building, With only one door exist there. Remember! Don't you ever bring someone else there, If you can't trust that someone! '.

' 2. At the second floor, there's me and your mom altar, there's a hidden Drawer, with a finger scanner, put your Pinky Finger there, and you'll Know. Why pinky? Because you are always love to have a Pinky promises with us'.

' 3. If something unexpected happens, remember, nothing is impossible in this world. And remember, be grateful to the God and help those who in need of your help. Remember what mom always said? "Never act Rashly, and always help those who in need, because God, Always watching you" right?'.

' 4. Lastly, dad have something for Hyun, but you mustn't ask him about the content, at the second floor, the second shelf, theres a thin books and a piece of paper for Hyun. Pass it on to him. And if you want to read, you "Must" as for his permission first'.

' Oh and, we always be with you, Dear. With Love, Mom and Dad'.

I let a long and heavy sigh, and put the paper on top of the table. The lawyer seems noticed that i have finished.

He take out a lot of papers and put it on top of the table.

"This is your Mom and Dad Legacy that he left you. It's a house with a a little bit of land around the house, for you".

"You can keep that Message paper with you. I think it's the best for you. And you can read this papers content slowly".

He push the papers to me. I take the papers and read the content one by one. While I'm reading the files, he pick up the cup and drink the coffee slowly. As if he doesn't want to rush me out.

"Can Hyun read this papers as well? Since i still can't believe with everything of this".

"Sure. He can read it with you. But he can't read the message paper".

Hyun move his seat closer to me, reading the papers together with me. He keeps looking at the papers and looking at me.

The content written on the paper is about a house, with a small garden, ready to be passed down to me, as a legacy from my parents when they are passed away. I don't find anything wrong with the content, and then i signed all of the papers.

"Alright, it's done".

"Yes. Thank you for your time. This paper is for you, with the message will, and this one is for me. To keep it as your lawyer's. If you have anything related to the house, just contact me".

He take out his business card from his wallet, and hand it to me.

"As i said, Everything and Anything about the house, you can contact me directly. I will come and help you".

He pack up the documents, and reach out his hand for a handshake. I grabbed his hand and thanked him.

"Haaa~ finally, its done~ what a long and surprising day~".

I sat on the sofa, placing my palm on top of my eyes.

"Come on. I'm hungry~ you'll be paying tonight, since you don't need to pay for rent, next month's~ Mister Home Owner's~". Hyun mocked me and laugh.

I stand up and linked my hand on his neck. We have a good time that night.
