Prologue

I fall, wind blowing in my ears. I was suffocating, the air not wanting to go into my lungs, choking on the absence. However, that wasn't the thing that made me suffer. As I fall, I watch his face. His sad, broken face. He yells, screams, cries, but people pull him back from jumping off. I can't hear a single thing. A silent movie, flying farther and farther away.

I see his mouth move in a familiar pattern. A way that I know so well, I was used to seeing him say that word. Such a toxic word now. Such an evil word. A word I didn't want to hear again. Not from him. That word can burn like me. He reaches out a hand, as if he could grab me. He can't. I'm too far away now.

Mystic blue and white swirl around his wrist. It distorted the world around it, making my own vision turn a light blue. The spirit, with a mind of its own, surrounded me. Protected me, infused into my skin, making me frozen. He would save me. Save me after killing me. I knew it.

The burn of the ocean blue sword twisted into my stomach, filled my body with warmth. I wasn't mad, I told him to do it. I told him to do a lot of things, some of which he didn't listen to. But this time he did. Now, here I am once again, falling to my death. Well, not anymore. I'm not mad, I will never be mad at him.

What really did it feel like? To be pushed off a cliff into a fiery pit by the one you loved the most. What did it feel like to be hugged, to be loved, when you have never felt that way before. What did it feel like to be trusted by only one, who only loved you? What did that feel like?

It felt like burning hell.

But I was still smiling.
