Chapter 11

The silhouette of God's Reaper trudged towards Yao Wang, which made the ego step back towards Fu Hai and Buo. "Who are you?" Fu Hai yelled loudly, though the shadow didn't answer. Was it a ghost? It was a dark smog, bunched together to form a human shape. A horrific laugh escapes the ghosts mouth, screeching and bitter. Layered with different tones and pitches. It sounded more like a demon than a ghost. It collapsed to the ground behind the shrine, the black fog spreading out across the floor.

Buo was the first to step closer to the shrine, peering over to see what was behind it. "It's a girl…. It's a girl." Buo mumbled, stepping away. Yao Wang and Fu Hai ran up to him, looking over. Slowly, a girl with a pale face and red lips stood up. She wore a red and gold cheongsam. Her hair was up in a bun and she was…..

Bowing.

"Excuse me?" Yao Wang asked politely. She looked up at him, with a white face. She smiles brightly, before standing up. "Weapons are not allowed in my temple." She continued to smile, turning her attention to Fu Hai and Buo. They both had daos in their hollister. Fu hai placed his hand on the handle, not swinging the blade out. "This is not your temple."

She giggled maliciously. "I am the only human to ever have talked to Tao Wu, and he has told me amazing things about Heaven. He said that I will ascend and we can be together forever. He also made me owner of this temple." Her voice became altered, the sweet mask faultily hiding a dark and sinister undertone. Yao Wang shook his head. This girl was obsessed with Tao Wu.

"Why did you kill all these people? Can't they meditate for the same god you do?" Buo asked, God's Reaper abruptly stopped laughing. She raised her hand towards Buo, the black fog rising with it. "No one can love him. ONLY ME" The black smog dashed towards Buo, but he was barely quicker. The ego slid is bao out of the holder, blocking the quick attack.

He sliced the fog in half, and as if it was a human, the fog fell from the air, spreading out as it hit the ground. "So you killed everyone who came onto this hill to bow to Tao Wu. But how did you meet the god?"

Her laugh was malicious, sending shivers down Wang's spine. "I saw him." She said simply. That couldn't be. Tao Wu would have told Yao Wang about what happened. He wouldn't have sent Wang down in the first place. "Did you meet him when you were a-" "ENOUGH WITH THE QUESTIONS!" A thin yet long line of black myst stretched out, Yao Wang stumbling slightly to not get hit, jumping over the wall.

"Fine." Fu Hai muttered, before running to the girl, his dao by his side. He raised it with two leather gloved hands, swinging down right to her head. His cheongsam fluttered in the wind of the hit attack, the girl turning into black mist seconds before she was struck. Fu Hai's dao sliced into air, making the ego fall to the hard wooden floor. Yao Wang hastily looked around, spotting the girl at the entrance. Was she making the black mist, or was the black mist making her?

Fu Hai stepped onto the shrine, hopping over it so he could face her directly. Yao Wang tried again. "What's your name-" "STOP IT" The girl cried. Another blast was thrown, the girl waving her hands as she pushed black smog straight at Wang. However, unlike the last attack, this one stopped centimeters before it hit Yao Wang. He stared down at the cloud of black smoke, stopping right before it hit him in the chest. Yao Wang stepped back cautiously.

The angrier she gets, the worse her throws are.

Maybe, if he could get her mad at him, then he could find a way to get her. Yao Wang stepped to the side, his hands behind his back casually. No reason to be scared. "You loved Tao Wu, didn't you? Well, I'm sorry to say this, but he doesn't love you back." Buo turned to him, shocked by his words. "Yao Wang!" He yelled. He was provoking a ghost after all. Though he just waved the other off. With another yell, a heavy black fog was thrown at the three of them. However, it was lower to the ground, and much slower. It gave the three enough time to skillfully flip over.

Yao Wang safely hit the ground, huffing a sigh before standing out. He rolled his shoulders, turning to look at the ghost. "What's your name? I have a feeling I wouldn't recognise it." Buo said, crossing his arms. Yao Wang smiled. "Yes you would! He said he talked about me to EVERYONE!" Her eyes turned a bright red, as bright as her cheongsam. Fu Hai clicked his tongue, walking slightly closer to her. His dao dragged behind him by his hand.

"So, tell us. We're gods sent by Tao Wu, we are the most likely to know a name like yours."

At first she didn't say a word, only staring at him. "Da Hong." She muttered. Da Hong, Da Hong, Yao Wang had never heard of a name like that. But that might be because he wasn't in Heaven for over two thousand years. He turned to Fu Hai, who was looking at both Buo and Yao Wang with a confused face. It was obvious that he didn't recognise the name, and he worked with Tao Wu the most out of the three egos.

Buo crosses his arms. "I don't…. I don't think I have ever heard of Da Wong. I guess Tao Wu really doesn't talk about you-" "ENOUGH" That was it. A tingling feeling started at his forearms, gliding down to his hands. With a suck of his breath, blue mist floated from his hands, making Yao Wang smile. "Would you like to see him again?" He asks. However, before she could answer, Wang's light blue mist dashed towards her, wrapping around her body.

She pushes against the cloud of blue, before looking up at Wang with an evil face. Her scream was blood filled, with many different tones. Yao Wang stepped back at her last attempt to hit him, a smog black directed towards him. Though Yao Wang's step wasn't enough. The black cloud hit him, sending him launching backwards. But Wang twirled in the hair, landing gracefully on his feet, a few meters from where he stood before. A blue shimmer surrounded his body.

Buo turned to him, giving him a single look that asked, are you ok? Wang nodded, turning his attention to the ghost. Enchanted magic flew from her fingers, elegantly floating in the air, tying her hands with a tight bow. Yao Wang walked over to Fu Hai as the ego slid his dao into the holder. "Can I use your aura?" The blue light of Yao Wang glowed dimmed.

Fu Hai looked at him, startled by the question. "Why…. Don't you still have some?" Yao Wang shook his head. "I don't have as much as you. I'm technically not one of Heaven's Deities." With a huff, Fu Hai lifted his hand, similarly to how the man did. Yao Wang lightly placed his hand on it. For a moment, he didn't feel anything, but soon the blast of energy made him shut his eyes.

He was in a white room, thrones all aligned for the main god, made out of wood. However the one in the middle was special, specifically for Tao Wu. Jing Mei sat in the seat closest to Tao Wu's, to the left. Her legs were crossed, and it seemed like she was waiting for him.

"Hsien Lian, is everything ok?" It seemed he was back in his normal form, no ego required. He glanced down at his blue and white hanfu and nodded. "Of course, Jing Mei. He caught the ghost. Can you get Tao Wu and Chao Ju." Chao Ju was Tao Wu's junior. Hsien Lian has only met him once, right before he was forced to leave. "I believe they both might be of service."

Jing Mei stood from her throne, her heels clicking as she walked over to Hsien Lian, walking on the white floors. She raised her hand to his cheek, her hand was frigid. "What happened to your aura?" She asked worriedly. Lian grabbed her hand, lowering it. He smiled sweetly at her. If he was still the Flower God, flowers would sprout from simply his presence. "Nothing, I am fine. I just don't have much."

Hsien Lian usually never had to use his aura. He never had to be in a fight quite like that one. Not that it mattered anymore. "The name of the ghost is Da Hong. I don't exactly know why she was here." Yao Wang pondered over the thought for a moment. Jing Mei smiled, humming softly. I'll send both Tao Wu and Chao Ju over to get her." Jing Mei informed, steadily walking back to his seat. Yao Wang smiled. "Thank you, Jing Mei."

"You're welcome, Your Highness."
