Chapter 32

Jing Mei and Fang Hai didn't say anything to Hsien Lian as they both went to his room. Well, at least not until Hsien Lian couldn't stand the silence. "Are you mad?" Hsien Lian asked quietly. Back to being a scolded child again. Jing Mei sighed, shaking her head. "Why would I be sad? You are not my child, Hsien Lian. I did not take you under my wing, nor did I teach you anything. But will Tao Wu be mad, definitely? His brother will have to tell him."

"You do understand how dangerous that ghost is, right? You do understand that he has hurt our best Melee Gods. I have heard that you did a lot after I was gone, Hsien Lian. But even your human skills won't work against a ghost-like him." Fang Hai sighed. Hsien Lian nodded. "Who said I would fight him? He seems like a reasonable person, Fang Hai. I believe fighting isn't the best way out of a situation as it is. So why not befriend him-"

"Befriend a ghost? As a Heavenly God? Hsien Lian!" It was Tao Wu's voice. He wasn't mad, instead of in shock. Hsien Lian turned around, bowing to the king. "Hello, God Tao Wu." Hsien Lian bowed once again, before standing up straight. "You haven't even been here for a day and you're making trouble." Tao Wu scolded. Once again, not angry. Hsien Lian couldn't tell what his emotion was, but it wasn't anger.

"Tao Wu, in his defense, he is a Melee God, he should be allowed into conferences like those." Jing Mei said, calmness resonating from her voice. Tao Wu, when they had first met, had told him that he took favor for Hsien Lian. That he was going to train Hsien Lian under his wing. He didn't think he was going to be king, since that also had to do with The Celestials, but once again, Hsien Lian didn't mind it. A Melee God was enough for him.

"Hsien Lian, do you understand how dangerous this ghost is? He almost killed Fang Hai. He's the King Of the Ghost Realm for a reason, Hsien Lian." Tao Wu continued. He was calmer, quieter. However, he still had the urgency and worry flowing through his voice. Hsien Lian sighed and nodded. "Tao Wu, I very much understand. I know he is a danger. But let me try and just talk to him." Hsien Lian reasoned At first, Tao Wu didn't budge, but soon the man sighed, holding his head slightly. "Fine, fine. You can go, but you're not going alone."

Hsien Lian smiled, grabbing Fang Hai by the arm. "Perfect, Fang Hai can go with me!" Hsien Lian smiled. Fang Hai shoved Hsien Lian off. "No, I'm not going with you. I have half to stay." Fang hai muttered. Hsien Lian rolled his eyes. "Why? So you can see your boyfriend?" Fang Hai grabbed his dao, ready to attack Hsien Lian, who was unarmed. Jing Mei stepped in the middle of the two, pusing Fang Hai back. "You will go with Hsien Lian. I'll make Chen Guo go with you if it makes you feel better." Jing Mei concluded, before stepping back.

Fang Hai barely nodded, obviously still not wanting to go, yet he didn't want to backtalk Jing Mei. "But before you do anything, you need to meditate." Meditation was a way to help find balance in your aura, a thing Hsien Lian was still figuring out. Help control it, help use it to your ability. Hsien Lian himself had never used his aura before, nor has he ever meditated whilst being a god.

"That helps your aura, right?" Tao Wu nods. "Well what exactly is an aura?" Hsien Lian had been meaning to ask this. Hsien Lian had been meaning to ask many different things. This question just slipped out of his mouth first. "An aura is your inner being. An animal that only you have control over. A spirit that does what your heart says, not your mind. As long as they both connect, you will be fine. Your aura will know what to do." Jing Mei explained. Hsien Lian slowly nodded his head. He was getting it, somewhat.

Fang Hai sighed, yawning. Jing Mei glared at him, hitting him on the arm with her purple fan, before going back to Hsien Lian. "Come, let's take you to your garden." She and Tao began walking in front, seeming to know this kingdom perfectly, even though it wasn't theirs. "How does it feel to be a Melee God and not know anything? I could never be in your shoes." Fang Hai teased, however Hsien Lian sighed.

"You became a Heavenly God, isn't that itself an accomplishment. Everything that you have done in your life, got the attention of Tao Wu or another Royal God." Hsien Lian complimented. Fang Hai hummed, nodding his head. "I haven't heard from the Han Dynasty recently. How have they been doing?" Fang Hai asked, a warm smile on his face. It was obvious he remembered the Han Dynasty in only a positive light.

"Well, Lui Che is amazing. He was building new schools for the poor." Hsien Lian answered. Fang Hai laughed quietly, nodding his head. "He really cared about other people, as did you. You know," Fang Hai stopped, turning to Hsien Lian. "Though you two aren't blood related, he taught you everything amazing that you have. His kindness, his dignity, his love for the world, you have all of that. Though I think what you did was very idiotic, that is something Lui Che would do as well. Which I have to respect."

Hsien Lian smiled softly, nodding his head. Fang Hai and Hsien Lian were very close, even with a hierarchy, Hsien Lian never treated Fang Hai anything less than sweet. Fang Hai treated him the same. Fang Hai was like a brother to him, it was amazing. Amazing that he was here with Hsien Lian.

Fang Hai looked up, seeing Tao Wu and Jing Mei far ahead. "Come on." Fang Hai muttered, jogging up to the two gods. Hsien Lian did the same, right behind the other Melee God. Tao Wu stopped at a room, sliding the door open. He stepped to the side, allowing Hsien Lian in first.

It was the door to a greenhouse, at least that's what Hsien Lian thought. There were stone bricks leading to the middle of the garden, with different luxurious flowers surrounding. Most were hanging above him in an arch, with pinks and purples sprinkled into pastel blue petals. On the sides were different flowers, winter themed with flowers sprinkled into the springtime ones. As Hsien Lian walked down the path, he made it to a wooden arch bridge. It wasn't very long, but Hsien Lian stayed on it for a very long time, looking down at the flowers floating in the clear water.

Lotus Flowers.

"Just like your name." Hsien Lian had already been growing a lighting to the pink flower, but this just drags him in more. Hsien Lian smiled. He wished he could watch the flowers however. But soon, Hsien Lian made it over the arch bridge, into a circle with a small pillow. The glass ceiling conformed into a semi-globe, allowing more sunlight in Hsien Lian smiled, crouching to sit on the pillow.

"How long will I meditate for? An hour, two?" Hsien Lian asked. Fang Hai shook his head lightly. "For as long as you need." He sounded simple. Jing Mei sighed, waving quietly at Hsien Lian. He wasn't leaving. "You'll know your way around here. We'll see you when we see you." Tao Wu smiled. Hsien Lian nodded weirdly, crossing his legs and placing his arms parallel to each other.

Soon, Hsien Lian felt the sudden calmness, yet alertness that came with meditation. The soothing feeling of being connected, yet Hsien Lian didn't know.

Would he ever?
