Chapter 43

"And the last one?" XingYing asked, sitting criss cross at the edge of the fallen bricks. Hsien Lian leans over to point. "O." Hsien Lian states. XingYing hums, reading out the newly formed haiku.

How did they all die?

Find out and you will see

Your next clue is home?

It had taken them a moment to understand what to do. The letters in pollution then corresponded to the gaps. After that, it was smooth sailing. XingYing traces the word with his finger. "Home? What home? We come from very different places. Is it talking about your first home, or mine? Your second, or mine. Or maybe the lavender farm." XingYIng stated. Hsien Lian looked over at the other. "Where was your first home? You know mine-"

"Everyone knows yours, Hsien Lian. You were literally the prince of the Han Dynasty." XingYing pointed out. Hsien Lian stayed quiet for a second, before clicking hist tongue. "Fine. You know that I'm a god, I think it is fair to know where you grew up at." XingYIng gave him a look to silence himself, but Hsien Lian continued to talk. "Am I wrong? You know everything about me. Yet I know nothing about you. Do you not trust me-"

"It's not that he doesn't trust you." Someone states from behind him. Hsien Lian was quick to turn around, a glistening silver blade pointed at the person behind him. Well, no. two people. One held an apple in their hand, munching casually. The other person, there was no apple, and instead carried a dark yellow fan. Covering themselves with the fan. As soon as Hsien Lian turned around, one of them gasped. "Oh my god, Hsien Lian. God Of The Flowers. I'm so sorry to intrude!" The one with the pink hanfu stated quickly, stepping back to bow politely to the god. Hsien Lian stared at him with a weird expression, turning to the man with the purple fan, who calmly pulled the other up.

"Chang Bo. God Of The Sun." The one with the dark yellow fan stated, shutting it lightly. He then gestured to the one with the pink hanfu, who was still bowing. "Chun He. God Of The Butterflies. I thought that you two should meet, since you both are similar." Chang Bo stated, Chun He quickly standing up straight and nodding his head. "When I heard there was a new god, I got very excited. And when I heard the god was you, I got even more excited. When I tell you I watched you. You were a very good human." Chun He said very quickly.

Hsien Lian awkwardly chuckled, before nodding his head. He walked in his peripheral as XingYing lowered his weapon, stepping back slightly. Hsien Lian frowned, but continued. "Oh, wow it's fine. I really didn't do to much. I just tried hard to be a good person." Hsien Lian mumbled out a response, it being barely audible. But Chun He understood perfectly. Chang Bo pulled slightly on t he other's arm. How about we not crowd the god. Have son dignity." Chang Bo pointed out, keeping Chun He close to him. Hsien Lian smiled brightly as Chun Bo frowned. "Anyway, what are you doing in the human realm. You just got to Heaven." Chun He said with a frown. It was weird for a ghost to leave their position so early on. Hsien Lian rubs his neck awkwardly, lightly gesturing to XingYing, who seemed to have disappeared from existence for a short moment.

"I was sent to watch-"

Instantly at the sight of a threat, the two gods in front of him changed completely. Chun He's eyes turned a bright pick as he unsheathed his dao, getting into a fighting stance. Chang Bo's eyes turned yellow as his hands shone with the sun's rays, getting into a different, yet still very powerful, stance. XingYing casually looks at them, stepping back into the conversation. "Hello, nice to see you two again." XingYing said with a calm smile. He then bowed at both of the gods, but they didn't seem to care to much. XingYing sighed, turning to Hsien Lian. "I tried, can I be mean now?" XingYing asked. Hsien Lian couldn't tell if it was rhetorical or not.

Hsien Lian quickly smiled. "No, no. Everything is all right, I promise. I was sent by the Royal Gods to look after XingYing. That's what I have been doing. He is perfectly safe." Hsien Lian stated hastioly, hoping the gods would lower their weapons. They didn't. "Are you crazy? He is a ghost! And a strong one too!" Chang Bo stated angrily, his eyes barely glancing at Hsien Lian before going back to the threat. Chun He looked over at Hsien Lian.

"Not to insult you, but why would the Royal Gods send such a new god to look after this ghost!?" Chun He grabbed Hsien Lian's wrist to pull him over to their side, but a cold blade was placed on top of Chun He's hand. The blade belonging to XingYing. A carved out demon blade that had chose him. Not the other way around. XingYing looked calmly at Chun He. "Don't touch him. Unless you want to fail again. This time, you won't just lose a bit of your aura." XingYing threatened, glaring at the god, who stood his ground. The cheerfulness of their conversation turned to ashes.

"My kingdom almost fell because of you. But your kingdom will as well. Do not try me, ghost." Chun He huffed, his hand glowing pink, his abilities flowing onto his dao. Chun He raised it into the air, ready to slash XingYIng's hand off, when Hsien Lian quickly grabbed his own dao, protecting the ghost's hand. Chun He seemed shocked by the factt that Hsien Lian had protected the ghost.

"As I have stated previously. I was sent by the Royal Gods to protect and watch over XingYing." Hsein Lian stated affirmatively. Chun He stared at the god of the flowers for a moment, before sighing, lowering his dao to the ground, Chang Bo doing the same. "We both have.. History with this ghost. XingYing is your name?" Chang Bo asked, looking over at the ghost, his black long hair pulled behind his ear. "You don't remember my name?" XIngYing asked. His voice seemed shocked.Though he quickly stated something else.

"Yes, XingYing's my name."
