Chapter 9. Festival (Cyclical day. Part 1.)
The first day of the festival has begun. I woke up like on a very ordinary day, not getting enough sleep, not having had time to eat properly, I headed to school.
The courtyard of the school was already filled with people, everyone was in different costumes, someone was in a yukata, others were just in their everyday clothes, like me.
The communication club formed its own mini-event, which gathered people to play some games. At the moment when I approached, they were going to play something like "cities"
Karou's familiar voice was calling me from the school window.
I approached Kara, and she informed me that I was assigned to meet a girl who transferred to our school and just in my class.
There was nothing much to do anyway and agreed to it.
While I was waiting, I looked around. Everyone who came to the festival liked our "Shops", especially Miguru's shop, which did something like takoyaki.
A few minutes later, something happened that should not have been expected at all.
Time seemed to freeze and a girl appeared in front of me, whom we had seen a few days before the festival.
Her hair was a poisonous blue, she was a little shorter than me. And also her face reminded me of someone.
-- Well, hello, Akishito Akato - the stranger spoke in a gentle voice
-"Um... who are you?" I asked in reality, not understanding who she was.
-- Oh, yes, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Nila Otsuko, and I stopped the time.
-- Why did you stop time? And aren't you Miku's sister? - I started asking questions.
-- Yes, I just wanted to and stopped time, and you can still talk, it's strange somehow, although I know why. Yes, Mika is my sister. - Nila answered my questions without hesitation.
And after a few seconds, everything started moving again.
-"Oh, I'm tired of standing still–" Nila muttered to herself and took my hand.
Unlike her sister, Nila is not so modest, but rather rude and persistent.
-- What are you standing for? Show me the school! She said in an imperious tone.
I took a tour of the most famous places to me, so I myself did not go to this school very long ago. And there wasn't much to show.
So we just went on shopping.
On the first day, a concert was planned with a performance by a fairly well-known band in Japan. It's not for nothing that everyone threw themselves at the concert of this particular group.
And in the late afternoon, all the people gathered for a concert in the great hall of our school. It was consecrated with multicolored spotlights, as well as LED strips.
At the beginning of the concert, Nila and I were standing alone, but Katayashi and Miguru were sitting next to us and talking to me very quietly:
-- Hey, you've already picked up a girl, but what about Mika?
Nila, hearing this in earnest, got so mad and already swung at Katayashi, Noah managed to grab her hand. But suddenly time seemed to go back and the day began again.
I was lying in my bed and wondering what had just happened.
After going to school, everything was exactly the same. Migaru was selling his takoyaki. Karou was already screaming at the top of her voice, calling for me.
As I approached her, I heard exactly the same words. Then I decided to ask her:
-- Don't you think that the day repeats itself for the second time?
- I don't think so. - she answered, looking at me as if I was talking some nonsense. Although most likely it really sounded very strange.
When I got to the entrance of the school, I waited for a while again. And then Nila appeared again.
-"Hmm, it's strange that you're not surprised–" she said anxiously.
At least something is different from that day.
- Have you also noticed that the day repeats itself for the second time? After you touched my hand, I found myself at exactly the same beginning of the day as on this day.
After telling her that the same thing happened to me, I decided to tell her something similar: let's check it again.
But as if reading my mind she said:
-- Well, we will definitely not repeat this, because I would not like to live through the beginning of this day again, so let's forget about it and continue this day.
But everything was not as smooth as Nila had planned.
After the festival was over, everyone had already gone home, I was left as the main one with the final counts of the funds contributed to the festival. And suddenly, when I had almost finished my work, the day began again.
And I realized that I could not do without outside help here. So we will have to resort to help from Nila, since she is the only one who knows that the day has been repeated several times.
But when I was waiting for her this time, she didn't show up all day, so I had to look for her myself. But she wasn't at home or anywhere else.
Saddened, I returned to school and for the second time I transgressed to resolve issues related to the budget of the festival, this time missing the concert.
The cycle naturally did not end there and the day continued its repetition.
