Chapter 49

"Common, Adrian,’’ Tade burrowed into Adrian’s thought, "I knew you in those days in this same field. I knew how good you used to be in football, athletics and academics. Common join up immediately! The opponent are about to score my team. They’ve have been taking the advantage of having more players on the field because I’m out.’’

"Well, it has been long I played last. I don’t think I could fit in to your shoes now.’’

"Common, you can! Give it a trial first, old boy!’’ Tade said in jovial tone, holding Adrian’s hands and dragging him towards the pitch.

Some who didn’t know Adrian or saw him play before, laughed when he entered the field. He looked like a middle-age peasant in his ragged farm cloths.
