chapter three

I'm going to miss that old man you know, not that I should ignored the fact that he is a stranger I just met though, I feel like I've known him for ages within the little time I spent with him, it relief me of my pent up hopeless, my reasonings are screaming a different alarm to me but is still could help the fact that something about this old man felt homey. Seeing someone being abused all because of statues is annoying, its only natural for to fight for justice but most rational people would consider staying out of it all for fear. Looking at the strange ball shape heirloom in my hand I wonder if its was the right choice I made. I gave up my one chance to push further to help a complete stranger. It not like I regret doing it but taking the only thing he had on him make me feel terrible about myself, like I did it to loot him of his possession. What is this ball shape heirloom by the way, he spoke highly of it, feeling reluctantly to part way with it. I can't tell its value but I know precious to him and I've already promise to keep it safe, I won't want back out of what I said already.

"Bro you took much time, what kept you, I have been waiting hours here for you"

Getting a hold of myself, i found out I've reach my destination, it a bit surprising, the journey back was shorter than I thought or was it because I was lost in thought. Putting that aside for now I wear an helpless smile on my face cause o could see the worry on Joe's face.

"I'm sorry about that Joe, I side track a little that was why, I promise it won't happen again, not intentionally if I may"

"How do you mean be that?"

"Forget about it, let go in"

"David has been looking for you again and what is that your are holding"

"This hehmmm, its a gift, I will tell you about it when we get back, what is it David?"

"I don't know why he so bent on giving us hell of a time in the academy but I will advise you not to take part in this year class tournament, from what he said to me when he came looking for you and other I've heard from side, he is planning to send you back to the medic with the tournament."

"Hmm, you know I can't skip the tournament, its the rules, he just want to make life difficult for me, let go back first I will think of what to do about that later"

They both return to their dorm. Upon arrival Davis head to his bunk, laying the ball shape heirloom on his bed, recalling the instruction of the old man he hesitate a little, the instruction was not strange to him, from the information he assimilated from this body previous owner he is well aware that blood is use to bind or claim ownership of magical artifact but his hesitation was if he should or not. Nevertheless he still abide to the instruction, biting on his thumb he drip a drop blood on the ball shape heirloom. Immediately the drop of blood touch the heirloom, the patterns on it seems to come alive, swaying around on its surface in random motion. Davis interest was piqued, he was eager to see what will become of it, but is expectations hit rock bottom when it returned to its former state. With a dejected mode he pick up the artifact, placed it in his drawer and went to bed. He wasn't expecting much from it in the first place, he was think too highly of it when he saw the patterns moved. Joe sitting opposite him saw his down cast mode but said nothing, withing him he was asking just what that ball shape object is. He is been tempted to ask but fought against the huge. Davis is not in the mood for such, asking might just make things worst. At least he is happy that Davis didn't go through with his original plan of buying a rank 4 Manuel. He decides to call it a night too. Shortly after both of them drift into dream land the heirloom that has been sitting quietly in the drawer disintegrate leaving nothing but ash behind. Deep inside Davis sea of consciousness lay subtlely the patterns drawn of the ball shape heirloom.

Its been seven months after now Davis transmigrated here and that six months has been hell for him, two days is all thats left for the yearly tournament. Davis has been spending more time in the academy library to see if he could use some of his knowledge of earth here in alpha but all his research has been void. His Knowledge of science could explain the so called mana. As if it not enough, for the past six months plus, after he return from the strange senior hut his mana pool has remained empty, any mana he channel into his mana pool disappeared without a trace.

I guest I will have to face it head on this time again, hopefully the pain would be much bearable. Davis walk out of the library.

Two days later the end of year class tournament is about to kick off. The instructor gave a little reminder of the rule. You can't forfeit without a fight and you must not use a deadly attack that will put your opponent life in peril and lastly you must stop when your opponent surrenders. Every else goes, this institute is training powerful mages not weaklings so you must do your best to stand up. Ending his speech the match began.

(Author note: I will be substituting mage for magician from now on, thanks).

The tournament is carried out according to year enrolled and this year match is a challenge battle. It was year seven that would go first. Followed by year six down to the present year enrolled. According to to the rules of the academy, everyone spent 7 years in the academy before graduating and serving the empire for 10 years after which you are free to do your own thing.

When it got to year four section David was the first to step in the stage, like his blood for battle couldn't wait anymore. Seeing the evil grin on David face cold ran through Joe and Davis spine.

"Davis I know you are the one he would want to challenge, do your best to surrender quickly, I know David won't want that but try"

Before Davis could reply Joe he heard his name been called upon by David, stating him as his opponent. Everyone else could only give Davis a sorry look, it pretty obvious he is in for a treat and medic for dessert.

Stepping in the stage Davis brace himself for what is to come, he had no mana to fight with, David is a fire mage, he had fine control in sensing and control of fire element.

Without wasting time David conjure a huge fire ball, the intense hit coming of that fire ball isn't something to trivia with. Seen this Davis knew he was done for. There was no way for him to defend himself. He is an earth element mage bug now he is a sitting duck, the last thing he remember before going blank was David Creepy smile.

Hours later Davis could feel himself again, he could feel the scotching pain of burnt on his skin. Observing where he is, he didn't need someone to spell it out for him, he has arrived at the medic. Checking his condition, he had bandage all over his body, David sure did a good job barbecuing him with that flame.

If not for the instructor intervention I might have been completely cook. Davis thought to himself.

"Not literarily, I would have help out"

a voice sounded in Davis head startling life off him.

"Wh..o, who is there" Davis try to found the owner of the voice.

"Who are you looking for out there, am in here"

"Where is in here?"

"In your mind, I can't believe the possessors this time is this dumb, lucky I was the first to yield the call"

"Am not dumb, and I recall I didn't place any call either, who are you, to be precises what are you?"

"I'm Kanloan a fire dragon."

(*o*).
