[82.7] Born to be Enemies

Alora lay in bed, her eyes closed as she listened to the half-naked Zephyr beside her fall to sleep. Once she confirmed that only Lene and Moni were awake, her eyes opened to reveal a bloodthirsty aura.

She silently got out of bed and crept around outside, leaving the courtyard for the woods. Standing in the treeline, Moni slowly turned to her. His orange eyes were dull and his pale gray skin looked daunting in the moonlight. He tilted his head, "You didn't tell her the truth."

Before she could pull out a golden sword, Alora was on the ground, pushed down by the barrier. She dug her nails into the dirt and forced her head up. Her hateful eyes glared as she clenched her jaw so hard blood started to drip from her mouth.

"I… Will… have… Revenge!"

Asmonious snickered, his orange eyes staring down at her without emotion as he answered in a playful tone, "If you want vengeance, you'll have to work harder than this. All my siblings are on my side, but whose on yours?"

She screamed out, "I WILL KILL YOU!"

He laughed mockingly and reached out to pat her head, "I will be waiting."

Leaving behind a furious Alora, he went into the courtyard and entered his room. Now alone, his smile fell. His eyes quaked as his body trembled with guilt. His eyes were drawn to a mirror where a hideous shadow beast stared back.

The mirror shattered into hundreds of shards, reflecting each human and demon he had consumed.

Hundreds of their voices screamed for the death of the one staring back.

He reached out to rub the broken mirror, causing blood to smear along it.

"Soon… But not yet."
