Just accident

"Vedika?" Aditya opened his eyes. With sirens wailing all around on the bridge, he was being dragged on a medical stretcher by two people, another medic was holding drip bottle over him with thin tube attached to his wrist veins. Looking to his left, the driver was also being pushed inside the ambulance in same condition. With Vedika nowhere in sight, he panicked and started fidgeting on the bed.

"Sir you have to stay calm." One of the medics said, holding him onto bed.

"Vedika, my girlfriend. Where is she?"

"You need to relax sir?"

"Where is she?" He yelled this time. Suddenly a sharp pain pinched through his arm as he plunged into the depth of nothingness.

Lights were too bright to open eyes directly on go, so Aditya turned the other side and slowly pulled his eyes open.

"Hello Mr. Aditya, how do you feel now?" A soft soothing voice of a male doctor came from other side of the room. Aditya turned his head in attempt to find the owner of the voice.

"People who were with me. Did they live?" He asked.

"Both are alive. Luckily no one was harmed that bad. But the woman isn't awake yet. We are hoping for positive information soon."

"And the baby?"

"I'm sorry, the baby couldn't survive the accident." Even though Aditya wasn't expecting a better news, this still shocked him as a tiny drop of tear fell off his eye and made it's way across his cheeks.

"I want to meet her."

"We can arrange that." The doctor said.

A few minutes later he was being escorted out of his room with the support of a medic staff. Slowly walking through the hallways of the hospital, they reached another room.

"This is the one. Would you like for me to give you some privacy?" The medic asked.

"Yes thank you." Aditya said and entered the room in which Vedika was kept. It was almost morning and he hasn't been out for long, probably 6 or 7 hours.

Sitting beside Vedika's bed, on a chair, he stared at her peaceful innocent face laying on the pillow sideways.

"Vedika I'm so sorry. I'm-" he closed his eyes and choked on his own words thinking about how he'd face her when she wake up. They have lost their baby and now moving on would be more difficult than initiating their relationship was.

"I'm glad we didn't tell everyone." Aditya snapped open his eyes at these words.

"Vedika you are up. Oh thank God." Aditya stood up and kissed her head then both her cheek, tears flowing off his face.

"You know I grew a lot attached to the baby in last few days but when we were at the verge of death, all I wanted was for us to come out of that alive. After all it was still just a cell." With that Vedika broke into the fit of tears. Aditya immediately left the bench and came to sit beside her on bed and hugged her in his arms. "Why does it hurt so bad?"

"Hey hey. We'll get through this." Aditya said as he hugged Vedika tight.

"How is that even possible? How can this accident happen?" Aman was saying, looking out of a giant glass window. While Subha was sitting on the sofa, her feet resting on the table in front, sipping margarita.

"This accident really foiled our plan of distancing them both. I'm relieved he survived."

"I can't see them together anymore. I just wish they died." Aman said clenching his fist and came hurriedly to sit beside Subha.

"You are out of your mind. We need to lay low for now, investigation can turn to us any moment and we cannot risk it, we are already under the fire with kidnapping in Urvaganj. Thankfully my parents are keeping the law at bay."

"Now what you want me to do, sit and watch?"

"If you want to be benefited in the long run then, yes, that's exactly what I want you to do."

"You are being too optimistic, you know. It can be nasty."

"And you are being too pessimistic which is like, calling for your own coffin."

There police authorities were talking to Aditya and Vedika regarding investigating accident, in the hospital, while some of Aditya's team mates, Rocky, Jaz and Maahi were standing out in the lobby, waiting for it to be over.

"Are you sure it was just a truck that went out of control. I mean we have had some serious rivalry with both of our ex's in past so?" Aditya asked, remembering their horrible time in Urvaganj.

"Absolutely not Mr. Aditya. We have the drive under investigation and checked the truck as well. Chance of this being a planned attack is highly unlikely but we'll keep you updated, just in case." The female officer said and with an assuring smile, she left the room.

"That was a relief." Aditya sighed.

"Yes indeed it was. I just didn't wanted another trouble at hand." Vedika said.

As informed by the doctor, Aditya had a few cuts and bruises along with a little elbow muscle pain while Vedika had a couple of bruised ribs and minor concussion along with blood loss due to miscarriage.

"Can we come in now?" Came a voice from the door.

Aditya and Vedika both turned at the same time to see Rocky, Jaz and Maahi smiling with a bouquet of white lilies in hand.

"Hello come on in please." Vedika said, giving her full teeth smile and they all entered.

"How long have you been waiting out there?" Asked Aditya, standing up to greet them.

"Around ten minutes I feel." Rocky answered while Jaz walked closer to the hospital bed and handed the bouquet to Vedika.

"Get well soon V friend, next time we will play something of your choice." He said.

"Thank you very much you lot. These are beautiful. Sit down please." Vedika said, gesturing to the couch at other side of the bed.

"Yes, you all have a chat, I was going to get Vedika something to eat, any of you want something?" Aditya asked to the three guests but they all shook their head in deny.

As soon as Aditya stepped out of the room, his eyes rested on a familiar figure, someone he never wanted to meet ever.
