Focus On… I 28A

“Add more.” Tom’s somewhat commanding tone caught Sawyer’s attention as he strolled towards the kitchen, hands in his pocket. He can only avoid Toby for so long. Not that he’s avoiding him anyway.

“No. The recipe calls for-“

“Screw the recipe. I want more.”

“Hey! Wait! Tom- no-“

Sawyer entered just in time to see what looked like an avalanche of cocoa powder going into the mixing bowl. His eyes widened. Tom’s hands on the bag of cocoa with a grin on his face. “Whoa!” He knew that was bad idea. Or at least, he thought it had to be.

Tate let out a sigh of annoyance. It wouldn’t be the first time. His eyes flared with anger but he closed them to calm himself. “Fine.” He clenched his jaw for a second then continued to speak. “You know what? It’s your cake. You get what you ask for.” He held the wooden spoon and folded.

“What? I just want it to be more chocolaty.”

“Oh, it will be more chocolaty. You have no idea. And don’t blame me.”
