The Suffering… II 36A

For the first time since he got back, no actually, since he yelled at her, he wasn’t quite sure, Sawyer was in Noelle’s room. He wasn’t the only one of course. Otto was there as well. All three of them on her bed this late Saturday evening; Noelle in the middle with her back against the headboard and her legs stretched out, Sawyer by her right with his legs crossed and Otto by her left, closer to the foot of the bed with his legs planted on the floor. Listening in speechlessness as Sawyer told them about his break up with Hannah... Hannah’s break up with him.

Sawyer and Otto didn’t see the look on Noelle’s face that went beyond sadness for her friends and Noelle and Sawyer didn’t see the guilt that came with the news on Otto’s. When his story was over, none of them spoke. The silence was not what he expected. With a smile, he said, “Someone say something.”

“I’m sorry this happened Wade.” Noelle said.
