Peggy’s anger for being sent away had joined in with the ball of dull yet often… very often hurtful, ever growing with each reminder emotions that just wouldn’t quit. Maybe it’s the house. Staying home all day with no one but herself and her thoughts until her no longer needed babysitter came to check on her before her dad came back. The silence in the house was completely different. Knowing she’s alone unlike with Bev and Benny and Tanner all somewhere in the house.

She was drawing. Sitting on her bed, her drawing pad open on her folded up thighs, her eyes focused on her work and her headphones on to block out those pesky voices. One of which was hers telling her how much of a fool she is for still thinking about him when she should move on. Her phone beeped, interrupting the music playing for a second and that was all it took to glance at it and see a number she did not know with words she recognized.

-“I thought I told you not to fade away.”
